What a poppin’ sushi restaurant in the Lower Hills of Oakland! I stopped by on a Thursday night to pick up my call in order. Upon walking in, I noticed the entire place was packed! Not a single table available. I’m glad I called in. What I ordered: Hotate nigiri-my favorite thing we ordered! Surprisingly very fresh and sweet. Hamachi nigiri-also good. My favorite kind of fish, but the hotate stole the show. Alaska roll-plain ol’ salmon avocado roll. Salmon was fresh. Spicy tuna roll-was actually spicy and had a kick. Some salmon mango roll with tobiko-I don’t like mango in my sushi, tempura was soggy. I didn’t appreciate all the wasabi getting all over my scallops.

We had dinner and ordered our usual dishes that we enjoy eating at other sushi restaurants. The food was not good. The sashimi slices were very thin and small… and the tempura was not crunchy and light, the flour was dense and over cooked. Overall, we did not like the food and the prices were high. Not worth paying for. The staff was nice, the two stars are for the them not the food.

The employees are very kind and even provided commentary plum wine after the bill was paid(however it was our lunch break so we could not drink it). Sadly the food was just OKAY. And my chicken karrage had some almost raw bits and was very under seasoned. The prices are also too high for a lunch spot. My stomach was effected by the food in a not so great way as well. I won’t be returning.

One star because Unilocal wouldn’t allow me to do NO stars! Although the sushi was pretty good, I have to say I was extremely disappointed when I left out! I ordered to go on my lunch break not knowing if this place got crowded at lunchtime or not and not really knowing the location of this restaurant! After going in I noticed it wasn’t crowded all the tables were open besides one and they weren’t busy! My friend and I decided after we paid our 40 bucks for our food that maybe we should sit down and eat our lunch can since no one was there! We sat at the table and waited for the lady to return with our food. As she brought our food to the table we ask well we decided to eat here since you aren’t busy is that ok? The waitress with a straight face says NOYOUORDEREDTOGORIGHT? My friend and I pause for a min trying to see if she was joking or not and with no smirk or anything she said no! I have never in my life felt so disrespected and discriminated against! A group of women walked in after us and they were able to walk in and sit anywhere they wanted but for us we were told no these seats are reserved! I called the waitress after I left and gave her a piece of my mind of course she tried to deny saying it but I know what was said and I will never spend a dime in this place!

Meh, not the best sushi, but then again there isn’t any other sushi restaurant in the Glenview neighborhood. I usually end up here due to its location and pure convenience. Rolls are just okay, nothing unique that sets them apart from other restaurants. Order: spicy hamachi appetizer, Spicy Geisha roll, Maguro Fever, Fuji Mountain. Skip: sunomono(way too skimpy)

This is a great sushi place in an unexpected location. The rolls were tasty and HUGE, and very creative as well. I would recommend the Salmon Collar, although you may feel guilty afterwards as it is really rich! The Maguro Fever and 580 rolls are amazing and full of interesting flavors and textures. If you are vegetarian, you are going to love the Veggie Veggie. It is rare to find a sushi place whose veggie rolls are as fun and interesting as their fish rolls, but Sushi Park nailed it. To top it off, they give you complimentary plum wine at the end which is a great touch! Although it tastes like jolly ranchers, it is a great way to end the meal. The service is top notch, and they welcomed us in even as they were closing. And they didn’t rush us out! Great staff and very warm. This is my new go-to sushi spot.

Very solid sushi place. Had a combination player for $ 18 and it was a good deal. Very tasty fish, chicken and tempera. Great portions too. It didn’t blow me away or anything but nothing to complain about. Service is friendly and chef/cook are in your line of view and you can speak with them.

Came here on my carb cheat day. I ordered the karaagi chicken(Meh) and ordered the spicy dragon roll. The waitress came back w spicy tuna rolls. I had to wait longer. The dragon roll was okay… I’ve never had it with jalapeño in top. I am not sure why I can’t find a decent sushi place in Oakland…

Here are the reasons I like this place. The menu, is not overly simple or over the top. It’s just right, it’s got some classics as well as some things all their own. For instance the fire cracker ball is something I get every time. It’s great. The staff are remember me; even though I only come in once a month or so, they always make me feel welcome. Even when it’s get’s busy and they are running around all crazy. This places get’s busy quick. If you are short on time, call in a to go order. Other wise sometimes you have to wait for your food. So when you are hungry waiting can be annoying, but when it comes to sushi, sometimes waiting is a good sign. The only complaint i have is that this place it’s that big, which really isn’t their fault. If you got a group over 4 you are going to feel the pinch. And when it get’s full, it’ get’s loud. It’s won’t keep me away, but I know it might get to other people.

Food was very good and server was attentive and polite. She even ended my meal with a «shot» of plum wine, just because. Scallops were very fresh.

I ordered a whole MESS of sushi for my birthday party. They could not have been nicer to me during my ordering process and I could not be happier with the quality of the food. GREAT fresh sushi, beautiful presentation(even for my take out platters)! My guests were so impressed. Next time I come back I’ll eat inside the restaurant. Super cute small intimate neighborhood sushi place. I can’t wait to be a regular!

Bomb ass sushi! It’s clean. The fish is always fresh. The service is consistent. Oh! And they have a bomb ass dresser sushi roll. It’s boooomb! Oh, oh! And they also give you a little shot of some sexy plum wine. Me and my girls favorite spot.

Came in on a Friday night. Parking was a bit difficult to find in this busy neighborhood. Food was well worth the effort. The best thing I had was the tempura salmon belly. I’m a real pork belly slut. But this may be my new favorite thing to eat. Crush plus the soft belly fat what’s not to like. I also had the tempura and it ranks up there as the best because the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The crunch and the soft shrimp was outstanding. The only option comes with 4 shrimp and tempura veggies. My wife had the crab special. OMG lots of crab on the two pieces. The wine pour was generous and service was 4 stars. A definite place to return to soon.

Delicious little sushi restaurant. Walked in for a late Sunday lunch and was very impressed! The special rolls are huge and plenty of food for one or to share! I had the Spicy Geisha special roll — wow! Many more items I would like to try in the future! Service and prices were also good. Would return again!

Came here for lunch, the service was very fast and good. Our waitress was nice. The food came out quickly. I got the lunch combo with sushi, sashimi and spicy tuna roll. The sushi was ok, the salmon sashimi tasted like there was a film on it or something, not bad, just not good or very fresh. The spicy tuna roll was dreadful! There was almost no tuna and soooo much rice! The tuna tasted like they drowned it in spicy mayo. It also didn’t taste fresh. I would like to give this place more stars except I don’t think the fish was very good at all and its a sushi restaurant. I’ve been here a couple times and have never had very fresh tasting sushi.

The sashimi sampler has my heart! — Each piece is complete perfection and its insanely fresh and melts in your mouth. The Spicy Geisha and Fantasy(mmm basil tempura) rolls are also incredibly delicious and I can appreciate when the shrimp tempura inside the roll is actually hot and crunchy. The roll size is very manageable and are a perfect bite-size — yay! A sushi place you can go on a first date at without giant pieces of sushi roll falling out of your mouth, or being stuffed into your cheek like you’re a winter squirrel. Gracious, kind service that certainly doesn’t leave your cup empty, and yes, they give you complimentary plum wine(I donate my serving to my partner in crime). This place is on the tiny side, but I like to refer to it as cozy. Love it here.
