While You Are Away

I highly recommend Elise Gaylord. She has been taking care of my dogs for years and has always been competent and reliable. Often she works during the day, but takes care of my dogs both before and after work and stays the night. I trust her common sense to deal with any situation that may come up. She is the only person I trust with a key to my house other than me. Her mother also pinch hits if anything comes up, so there is a back-​up. Once my plane came in late and, being technically challenged I was unable to figure out where I was supposed to meet my ride. I called Elise and she dealt with the problem immediately (she is very tech savvy). Her pet sitting business is called While You Are Away and her phone number is 510 604‑1722.
I am really unhappy to see that my earlier 5 STAR REVIEWS are nowhere to be found, but that stupid review about the laundry has been there for years (4). Elise is extremely, honest and trustworthy and if she needed to use my washer and/​or dryer in an emergency I would be thrilled that she did that instead of going to a laundromat and therefore spending less time with my dogs (who love her). This would never be a problem in my home because I trust Elise enough to give her carte blanche. She is allowed to use anything and everything.

Elise is an amazing pet sitter! She is great with our dog, Rudy and takes care of him as if he were her own. She is also super easy to deal with!

Elise has taken care of our dog in our home a few times. Our dog was our first ‘baby” and we certainly wouldn’t leave her with just anyone. She is always thrilled to see Elise and would probably leave with her if we didn’t hang onto her while Elise climbs into her car. ;) Our home is always in great shape when we return home too, which means a lot! Elise really connects with the animals she sits for and it is obvious that she has their very best interest at heart. But she is good with people too and puts us at ease in a very relaxed way. I would strongly recommend Elise’s pet sitting services.

Hi All!
I wanted to share my experience with Elise and her service.
Elise is sweet and has sat for me a couple of times. Things went well.
HOWEVER, I recently returned from a trip to find a pair of «unidentified» ladies undies in my washer. I suspected Elise, since she was the only one with access to my apt. She said her dryer broke and that she threw a few things in and hoped I didn’t mind.
The only problem was that I found the undies in the washer, which means not only did she use my laundry without my permission while I was away, but she lied about it.
BIG Problem.
We have a business relationship, not a personal one and I really don’t appreciate her using my apartment for her laundry. Not only that, but it makes me wonder what else happened while I was away.
I won’t be using her services anymore and just wanted to share this experience.
UPDATE:
Elise did confirm that she used my laundry. I wonder why she didn’t email me to ask permission? Easily enough done. If I hadn’t found the undies, I never would have known that she did her laundry at my house while I was away.
I also found that she used a tupperware container from my kitchen to scoop litter. yuk!

Elise visited my apartment to take care of my cat while I was out of the country for 2 weeks. She was recommended by a friend and did a great job. Elise is friendly, reliable, and responsible, which allows me to leave town without any worries about my cat’s well being. As a bonus, there were no puke-​remnants and poop piles when I returned home — what a change!

We have a cat that is afraid of most people, but there must be something instinctive about cats because when Elise comes over, she comes right out of her hiding spot and jumps up on Elise’s lap for a cuddle.
In addition to our pets loving Elise, she is reliable and compassionate. Highly recommended pet service!!!

When it comes to trusting someone with your pet, Elise is one of the best! She takes time to learn about your loved one and his/​her habits/​desires so that when you are not there, you can feel comfortable knowing they are being taken care of.
Her caring and knowledge helps to put you and your pet at ease right from the start. I haven’t met a pet yet who doesn’t love her! I sometimes feel that my dog loves her more than me! ;-) I know that I can leave my pet with her without stressing because my dog will be better taken care of than I can do. Thanks for all your do Elise!

Elise is awesome. She is completely trustworthy and I’m so comfortable with her that she always has a spare set of keys to our home. She also has a really good rapport with animals and our usually shy kitties warmed up to her right away.
We haven’t used her boarding services, but we’ve been noodling getting a puppy and will certainly be calling her for dog-​sitting & walking when that times comes.

This company is run by Elise, who is the best! She’s so sweet and lovely, and she just adores animals.
I could not tell you how many times she has done pet-​sitting and pet-​boarding for my family and friends, and it’s always a stress-​free experience.
She could not come more highly recommended!
Oh! And she’ll also do drop-by’s for cats and dogs while you’re out of town, in addition to pet-​sitting/​-​boarding.
