Sat down was given a menu and then wait staff never came back. Waitresses and waiters were socializing with each other instead of working. Finally we left.

This place isn’t bad, has a great view with decent booze and grub. The only downfall are the bouncers. They are rude, and disillusioned with authority they don’t have. You guys aren’t cops, please don’t act like it.

Perfect beach town pit-​stop. Everyone was super cool, service was just fine, beer was cold, food was just right, and the music (Hawaiian Reggae) was the perfect touch. Will absolutely come back!

Has to be some of the worse service I have ever received at a restaurant. We sat for 15 minutes before someone took our drink orders. At 30 minutes, we complained and received some platitudes. We left at 40 minutes with no drinks or food. They were busy but had plenty of staff, besides the table next to us came in 10 minutes later and had chips, salsa and pop. Also note, despite what their sign says, their «ocean view» doesn’t exist anymore.

I have been here for many years. I have had lunch and happy hour with my family and friends for the past 15 years. I have taken my kids to lunch here and my best friend and I have had dinner here numerous times. On Saturday night I took a Lyft here because I felt safe. I bought 30.00 worth of drinks and got up to dance. When I returned to my table, my drink was gone, and my purse and sweater was gone. When I inquired were my items were, the staff told me they had no idea where my items were, and because someone had taken my seat, they told me to leave. After letting them know that my items were missing, security returned with my items and told me that I had to leave. I trusted the staff here. I came out on a night alone when I trusted the staff and they were a huge disappointment.
I will never come back to this place and I urge any woman who comes here alone… DON’T

Very very poor service. Three of us and we had to go to the bar and pick up our own drinks. One of us never got our food. Had to get our own utensils. Never checked on by the waitress.
Drinks had zero alcohol, and I’m a light weight.
Food was tasty though.

Cheapest drinks in town, friendly bartenders, more of a chill local vibe unlike these other hipster brewery/​restaurants opening up. Cheap food happy hour menu is ridiculous even though I didn’t try anything I saw some tenders that looked bomb as fuck. Definitely coming back some time this week

I don’t even want to give this place any stars. The service here is horrible if you can get any. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks and not only got the order wrong they forgot half our order. I’m not sure if there were things going wrong on the back end of this place but your server should at least come by and check on their guests.
Also, people who came after us got their drinks and food before our table even got drinks. Not once did our server come by to check on us. I know it was right before happy hour but there is no excuse for bad service.
Will not be going back to this place.

Love the 2 for 1 happy hour. They have a unique drink menu. So, if you want to try something new or different this is the place to go. The serving portions are plentiful, you wont go away hungry. The staff is friendly an helpdul with menu items. It can get busy during Happy hour so go early. The view on the roof top is priceless.

Wow– what a disappointment!
Last minute, a dear friend of mine wanted to do a ‘girls lunch’. Well, who I am to decline?!
She suggested Cabo Grill or Hello Betty. Now, having been to Hello Betty’s and really only enjoying the view, I opted for Cabo. A quick glance at the Unilocal reviews led me to believe there was a great view here… and there was… of the NEW CONSTRUCTION blocking the awesome beach view. Major fail.
You see, I don’t really expect places with great views to have great food. You’re paying for the view. I get it… but when the food is mediocre at best, the service is almost non-​existent, and the view is awful… what am I paying for?
Our server was so slow. I can’t blame the kitchen for this part. It took her forever to take our order. She did admit to it being her second day there. She was nice, just slow… and the poor girl kept forgetting everything.
My friend ordered chicken flautas and I ordered one of their breakfast dishes (which is served until 3). My two eggs over medium and carne asada were decent. It’s hard to screw those things up. The food did come out hot, so I know it was brought out quickly, but it took forever to place the order and then actually get the food.
I was really looking forward to a few hours with my friend, a few drinks, some decent food, staring at a great view. None of that happened except for a spending time with my friend.
Won’t return.

Stopped by this place while my car was being attended to down the street. Deanna my server was a joy to talk to. Made me feel very welcome. This was probably one of the best burritos I have ever had. The Beer was very cold. Have no idea about the other one stars. Probably some people drinking too much and not going by the rules. Anyway, not surprised considering the area. Food was Great, service was as good. I’ll be back!

Perfect stop for the locals as well as the tourist. Great food, awesome music of all sorts and AMAZING DRINKS and happy hour. rooftop bar and is my fav and it looks over the Oceanside beach, gorgeous views! At night it turns into an underground local club where you can dance the night away with no cover charge. Bartenders Dean, Davina, Kai and Dante are all very talented in their Kraft and never fail to disappoint me! Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. They definitely keep me coming back. Show up and see for yourself, it’s pretty awesome!

Really just not good food.
Shame really since the service was very nice and our tacos cheap and made quickly, $ 1 tacos a great deal, we went with al pastor and just did not enjoy the meat or the tortillas.
The red sauce tasted dirty, the green and guac much better.
Pretty skimpy as well, you will need 5+ to fill you up.
Not much of an ambiance either, pretty scuzzy and run down, in need of a make over.
Unfortunately not worth returning.

For the first time in my life, I had such a horrible experience of service that I walked out of a restaurant. I stopped here with a group of friends in a Sunday afternoon.
We took a trip to Oceanside to enjoy a Sunday Funday to do something different. For the most past the day was great until we stopped here. Which is sad because I had been wanting to try the rooftop here for some time.
We walked upstairs and it took over 5 minutes for a hostess to acknowledge that we were standing at the podium. This should have been our first clue of the kind of service that we would receive.
We were finally seated about ten minutes. Sat down. No one immediatley came to take our order. But we had menus so we were pacified.
Drink orders taken. Over 20 minutes later we still had drinks. And no one came back to our table to even try to take a food order. Yet we could see a table of people who had been seated after us receive their food order. Strange.
Our server was nowhere to be seen. I think it was a bar back walked by our table and explained that our drinks were coming. Ummm ok. We hear her apologize to another table because there was no ice and the elevator was broken. Even more bizaree was that if the elevator was broken, I wonder how the customer in the wheelchair is going to get back downstairs and how did he get upstairs?
A few of our drinks trickle to the table. Two sodas and a water. Several others were on the way we were told. We could finally see our server at another table– helping a table who had come in after us. At this point we had been at the restaurant about 40 minutes. No food order and not all of our drinks. And no one barely acknowledging our table the entire time.
One would think the place was horrendously busy. Not the case. It was a simple lack of service. We were a complete oversight. At this point we had invested our time of up to 40 minutes of poor service.
We decided to leave. We walked over to Johnny Mañana’s a block away. And received stellar service at half the price.
It is seriously sad. This place could have been great because of the nice rooftop. And now I will always remember this as the first restaurant that I have ever walked out of due to a complete disregard for their customer service. What a shame.

This place sucks!!! All we ordered was 2 beers & the waitress never brought them. I had to get up & go to the bar & get 1. She finally came over & said they were re tapping the keg, for the other beer. Ya right! For 20 minutes? She never brought the water we asked for. For 20 minutes. She kept going to this shed and playing on a lap tap. I won’t be back. Terrible service & it was very dirty! Save your $$ and go somewhere worth going to. If I could give them a — star, I would.

Still overpriced! Haven’t been in here since the rooftop issues and the removal of the «Two for One» deal. In town, stopped by and the size of my margarita for the price is ridiculous as is the size of an order or guacamole! $ 7.00 for what would equal the amount of one avocado mashed is ludicrous. You might be on the beach but you’re not worth what you’re charging!

If I could rate a zero I would! Horrible horrible horrible is all I can say! not sure how they are still in service! Customer service-​zero, food-​zero (nothing to be desired) It seemed like their happy hour would be an awesome (buy1 get1), BUT THATS IF THEY SERVED YOU DRINKS! One bartender during happy hour? And one bitchy waitress? No thanks I’d rather spend the extra $$ for better service! We walked out after 25 minutes of waiting for a drink! Don’t waste your time here!

Doesn’t even deserve one star. First off they make you seat yourself so you have to walk around searching for a clean table yourself and then have to sit and wonder if anyone has even seen you so they can start waiting on you. A couple walked in and sat down 5 minutes after us and were immediately served menus and took their drink order. The waitress looked and our table and walked away. She did that over 7 times. Another waitress passed us up 4 times and the manager passed us by twice. When we confronted the manager to explain we had been sitting for over 20 minutes and hadn’t even been acknowledged once, he couldn’t even apologize. Just stood there saying «oh, wow». This place has horrible customer service and will never get our hard earned money or any of of our friends. Screw this place.

Two stars only for the food! Just left and had the worst service ever! Never did get the chips and salsa we asked for twice. Bottomless Bloody Mary because they never come to refill it! Had a great cabo scramble but no tortillas that were supposed to come with it! Could go on but you get the drift! The other Davinas off the 76 is much better!

The rooftop view, even at night is great. The live band was wonderful. That being said it took a very long time to get our drinks, our waitress did come by after waiting said long time to let us know the issue, drink we wonderful. It was a busy night and we understand the service industry things can happen, printers can go down & slow orders down.
Now when it came to the crowd, I did not feel safe. There were people wearing «colors» and throwing signs up, not an ideal spot to hang out & relax on a Friday night. This is my reason for the 1 star, feeling safe is very important to a bunch of girls trying to have a good time. Next time, if we go back, we will bring our husbands.

Awesome Mexican food can’t beat the prices be sure to sit upstairs underneath the open air and fireplaces great Mexican food highly recommend the super burrito for $ 9 for dollar more make it carne asada love this place so good great salsa

This place has a fantastic view and its good place to chill. But the food is so so and the service is horrible

I think this place gets crappier by the minute. The only place I possible like to be at is upstairs. I don’t think they maintain this spot well. I understand it’s downtown oceanside and there’s nothing by druggies and drunks and that’s why OPD is always outside waiting to arrest someone, but Cabo should keep people out like that and let the ones who actually want to have a good time. The «basement» club down stairs plays horrible music. I went one night and did not enjoy it one bit! I guess I came at an off night? I just wouldn’t risk coming here again. Unless I go upstairs to have some food and happy hour drinks.

Had an excellent dinner tonight! The food was good, but the service was even better! Thank you Cora for taking care of my husband and I!

This place has no CLASS, no Customer Service and courtesy is unheard of! Stood waiting for 15 minutes while they cleaned one table and didn’t clean until we got fed up and headed for the exit. Then sat ourselves and waiter came with no menus then I don’t want to go on… Just go here if you enjoy being treated like a dog!

Davinas is an amazing place. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and roof top view is breathtaking. Live music upstairs was really good. Davina herself is funny and super cool. We visit everytime we go to SoCal. Happy Hour is a great time.

I don’t even want to give this place a star. I would rate this restaurant –5 stars (negative five stars) and that’s just to be nice. I strongly suggest new management or the restaurant to close. It would be wonderful to have the view from the rooftop with better food and customer service. Every bad review about this place is true. This was my first time at this place and will be my last! I typically like to form my own opinion but I truly wish I hadn’t waste my time. So to save time and the fact that I can’t even list all the things that was wrong about this place. Know my personal experience was horrible and read the other reviews because no need to repeat what you already have read. If I write everything that happen I might get mad all over again and demand a refund Lol! **stay away trust me* * Oh and just to add my brother got sick and vomited his entire meal

After went skydiving I was definitely ready to eat, came cross this place looking for another Mexican place but ended up here which I must say it was a way better choice. We sat up stairs where it had an awesome view of the beach & perfect time to watch the beautiful sunset. The waitress was really nice. They had the best drink deal going on 2 for one ! Any beer or mixed drink how great is that !? I order a super burrito & when it came out let me tell you it was seriously «super» so big haha. This place was a perfect place to come to. I would definitely come back.

i’ll keep it simple.
Cali life. Right off of the Beach. Good food, I started with the Talapia Ceviche which was fresh with the perfect amount of cilantro and paired it with good drinks, Cerveza I had so many. I don’t recall the brand. mature crowd, great live music, they performed a lot of low rider 70’s classics. Perfect weather, Beautiful hostesses. Need I say more. My home away from home.
The lower level club was mainly 21+ the Dj kept them on the dance floor the entire time we were there.
It’s a must visit if your into partying.
This was a wonderful experience. It would’ve been better had I had my phone with me to capture all the sights. I’m home with a new phone and planning my return trip now.

When I first visited this place I actually liked it, they filled your mimosas up quickly and provided decent service with okay food.
Unfortunately we came in a second time before a Padres game with the specific intention of pre-​drinking before we hopped on the coaster and they would not serve us two drinks at a time.
I understand the risk of over serving, but we ordered a beer and a shot like really? Neither of us had a prior drink to coming in here and we definitely didn’t order a second.
Don’t expect too much from this establishment.

They have Happy hour every day from 3−6pm. Went last week on a thursday got there around 5, wasn’t packed. I had pineapple and vodka really strong drink, and I had their carne asada burrito. Mmm good. I asked the waitress for no sour cream the 1^st time and when I cut open my burrito low and behold there was sour cream. She was more than willing to send it back and have it re-​made without the sour cream, I believe the cooks just weren’t paying attention. All in all food and drinks are great, beautiful scenery over looking the beach, and you have a view of everyone walking around the shops below. The down fall is the seating area upstairs, the upholstery looks a bit beat up and dirty, luckily we didn’t have a big group with us, until later on and at that time we just moved to the bar area, also I didn’t like that their was one stall in the women’s restroom.

Dont come looking for fine dinning. This place has one of the best spots for a meal and a drink overlooking the beach. The place gets packed at times but I’ve done good with getting great service from the waitresses most of the time. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering it. The fajitas plate may be a little pricey but deifinitely got a bigger plate than usual too.
There a lot of pub mexican food with some slight variances.
On a Sunday sunny afternoon, you cant go wrong coming here.

I have been here a couple times before when I decided to come for my birthday and enjoy some beer and nachos and enjoy the beautiful view that you can get from the patio.
My favorite thing about this place is the upper patio with a view of the beach and Oceanside. This is the best thing about this restaurant and I think that anyone would enjoy the nice patio.
The food is pretty standard Mexican pub grub with nachos burritos and the like. The drink menu is huge and there is a great selection. there’s something for everybody and the drinks are absolute delicious.
Last time that I came here as everything started out really well until it seems that my server had to go back behind the bar I understand that sometimes they are a changing priorities but I don’t think that anybody was assigned to take over our table or asked we weren’t checked on for a half hour. When you’re sitting in a bar waiting to order a drink, something is off.
