I need to give this Garage a Shout Out! Mechanics can be a bad word, especially to women. We have taken our truck in twice now in the last three years. Received nothing but fair and honest service and they even have a rewards club now! Shoot we’ve spent over $ 10,000 at the dentist within the previous 15 months. And we have great dental Ins. But our Dentist never gives out cards, candy or frequent rewards. Those are for «New Customers.» But Alonzo does! Which I like because having your car fixed is no picnic. I appreciate their honesty probably more than anything. Something most businesses don’t practice anymore.

Words cannot describe how great Jorge is. Quality workmanship and service. He deeply cares and is mindful in every aspect of his business. He is honest, dedicated, and great at what he does. Oh, and you could eat off the floor of his work area — that clean. He is all about genuine customer service and quality work. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. He is the best and always goes the extra mile

Very professional, honest and fast service. Yet I was offered for free car loaner which other shops don’t have. Very satisfied for their job. They treat their customers with respect.

I was looking for a new shop after moving back from China after 3 years. My vehicle has hard to find, expensive parts, so of course there is some anxiety finding a new mechanic. I did see some negative reviews for Jorge, but unless you are servicing only family and friends, or have very little work, that is to be expected. My instincts paid off. He went above and beyond to source original parts at a reasonable price. He could have changed me a lot more, and I would not have known the difference. I received the kind of service I would expect after being a long-​time customer. So now I will be. Many thanks for Jorge and his staff for their professionalism, integrity, and outstanding service! This was one of the few times I wish there were more than 5 stars available.

If you are looking for an honest, reliable mechanic, Jorge is the man to come to. His work is timely, and thorough. His honesty, is a relief to encounter. He tells you the work that will be coming up on your vehicle, what needs doing today… etc. Jorge, treats each customer as if they were his «own people».

I have three vehicles and I only started out taking one into Jorge. My 84 corvette is the vehicle in which Jorge and his shop won over my favor for the work in which they did on initial meeting. I had recently purchased the car and took it to Firestone on Camp Pendleton several times within a month period over the same unresolved issue. The car continously overheated and Firestone keep telling me that I needed this part and this part time and time again. So, I got all the parts they suggested and had the work done at their facility. Needless to say the car kept overheating after spending upwards of $ 2500 in repairs. The last time I went to pick my car up they had broken my hood support and they tried to accuse me of doing it. They when I demanded they repair it they gave me the run around and after a week of humoring me they said they couldn’t find the part. So, I ended up looking up one of the hundreds of Corvette vendors and found the part. I provided Firestone with all the ordering information and had them pay for it, but due to my lack of trust in their abilities I put the part on myself. I took my car to be smogged and she overheated and blew a hose while being tested. Needless to say they were unable to complete test and I was stuck 10 miles from my home and unable to get my car back. Luckily, the smog facility was around the corner from Jorge’s. So, I ended up pushing the car to his shop the next day he called me after looking at my car and he told me that it was obvious why my car kept overheating. He told me that after running the car for 10mins the fan never came on. Any mechanic or even man with a common knowledge of cars would be able to see that! Jorge ordered and replaced the cabling to the fans and after that I never had a problem with it overheating again. Not only did he give a quick diagnosis, he also gave a fair price and had a quick turn around. I had him do a complete diagnosis on the car and right a in-​depth statement of his findings. I thought all that with me to Firestone and spoke to a manager there, not to mention blasted them on their Facebook site and within 24hrs they refunded me for all their labor cost for the work «they did» on my car. Since then, I fully trust Jorge and his mechanics. He always tells me exactly what is wrong with my car and sometimes even the most cost effective way to take care of it. I recently had to replace my water pump on the Vette and I only found that out through Jorge’s diagnosis along with his estimation of the cost of repair. I thought the price was high, and was unable to afford it at that time. So, I decided to do all the work myself. I purchased the water pump and did the removal and install myself. They quoted me for about 8hrs of labor. When I did the work myself it took me about 9hrs. So I am certain they weren’t trying to rip me off. It took me 5hr to remove my entire belt and pulley system apart to get to water pump and then it took me about 4hr to put it all about together. Again, I wholeheartedly trust Jorge and his staff.

If everyone in Oceanside area knew this shop they would have to move the swap meet somewhere else just to park the cars waiting to have Jorge service their vehicles. I have absolutely nothing to gain by saying they are:

2. Competent
3. Reliable
4. Friendly

Every time I have gone there and asked questions the owner has been really good about talking to me, I go there to buy my Amsoil products and highly recommend going there for that purchase. I don’t know about the problems others have had, charging for diagnosing a vehicle isn’t uncommon and dealerships will do the same thing. Dealerships will charge a full hour for 20 minutes worth of work, my outlook is why give the money to large dealerships when you can go local for the same price or a little less.

After my first (and now last) visit to Jorge Alonso’s I left feeling nothing but frustration! Long story short I was quoted outrageous prices (did they not think I would research the parts I needed) and was then charged a $ 100 «inspection» fee only AFTER I declined to purchase the parts. Not to mention, the mechanic spoke to me in an entirely new tone of rude! It was evident that the man was highly intelligent in his practice, however he proceeded to talk down to me, refused for me to get a word or question in edgewise, and tried to push pricey sales on me. I will NEVER return to this location, nor would I encourage someone else to do so.

This is a good place to get your oil changed but that’s about it. I tell all of my friends and coworkers to avoid this place as much as possible if you don’t want to get ripped off. Jorge is reasonably knowledgeable about common car repairs and is a decent mechanic. However, I will not be taking any of my cars to him in the future, and here’s why: he charged me $ 100 just to look at a problem with my car without fixing anything, and said it couldn’t be fixed. The next mechanic I took the car to fixed the problem in less than a day. I gave Jorge the benefit of the doubt and brought another one of my cars to him several months later. This time he told me the issue could not be fixed, it would «break again in less than 10 days if you try to replace this bushing» and that I should leave my car at the junkyard. Again, I took the car to a second mechanic who explained why Jorge was wrong (the bushing comes with a metal sleeve) and fixed it, and the car has been driven for months thereafter with no issues. Had I listened to Jorge I would have thrown away a perfectly fine working car. To summarize, don’t go here! He will charge you even if he doesn’t fix anything!

In all honesty, my car would not be on the road without the thorough and amazing detailed knowledgeable help of Jorge Alonso. When I first began visiting Jorge for help with my F150 truck, he provided me with an affordable, quick and easy oil change. After that initial visit, I called him up about a brake job that was long overdue for my truck. He quoted me for a rate that was more cost effective than any other competitor, and he stuck with the estimate until the end of the work… This is also including some disc work on my back brakes that, unbeknownst to me, needed to be done. Since then my car has driven like a dream. Very happy with his work, highly recommended.

I took my vehicle to get my air conditioning fixed, and he went beyond replacing the freon to testing my fuses. He found the solution with a loose fuse. Price of service was high, but he was thorough and explained the problem to me with follow up advice. So far my air conditioner is still working well, and I know to monitor the fuse in case I have future problems.

The best service, great price, excellent problem solving! I would highly recommend Jorge. He re built my Waste Vegetable Oil system, a feat no other mechanic would even consider doing. Cu-​dos!!!

Jorge has always been honest with me and has always been very reasonable with all of his repair prices. He knows what he is doing, and does the work the way it is supposed to be done without taking shortcuts or slapping your car back together «almost the right way». He has worked on my Honda Prelude a few times, and I have always been very happy with the results. I thought I had a serious problem with my transmission, since it would not go into first gear, but he fixed it just by replacing the transmission fluid with Amsoil brand. Now, all of the gears work! Thanks Jorge !!!

I took my heavy duty pick up truck to Jorge Alonso Services for a transmission rebuild. Jorge Alonso was clear and to the point about the diagnosis. He got the truck in immediately and was quick, efficient, and fair in the repairs. I had such a good experience working with JA Services I would recommend his shop to anyone!
