Oceanside RV Park

Staff is fantastic, I see a lot of people dogging the previous owners, but we were close with them and never had an issue. The staff has always treated us as we were family. And the rates are great.
Very close to everything, stores, food, large onsite laundry room, activity room and very Close to the beach! Family friendly, wonderful pool, hot tub, and the showers are great. We even got a cute Ferrell kitty out of it, that’s now a fat housecat
Great place overall 5 stars. Going to miss it!

This is a quant little place that was abused for sometime & now the new managers are really doing a good job of putting things right! It’s not top notch, but very clean & Robin & Ashley are there to do what it takes to make your stay comfortable & nice. The downside is the train goes by & it’s loud but it does quit at 10pm. The other item is the «residents» are old & rude, but the managers are working to evict them so by the time u go you might be in luck! They are super with kids riding around & playing as well as bringing dogs that are friendly. You are super close to the beach so kids have options as well as heated pool!

Meh, this RV park was ok. Lots of full-​time residents. pool was ok, bathrooms were decently clean. Nothing really stood out. I’d recommend the one across the street if you’re trying to decide between the two.

Ashley is the best, friendly and professional.
Very happy they sold the park, previous owner kept all the money and could careless about the guest and their comfort. Profits are important, but putting nothing into the place
Looking forward to the new owners to update the park, long over due. I have seen people already making plans for the changes.

This place is very well taken care off.
They have a little path to the ocean, general store, pool, and friendly staff.
We were blocks away from everything and took advantage!

We were there over the 4^th of July weekend we were very happy with the RV Park everybody took very good care of us especially Robin, we would definitely recommend this to friends and we would definitely come back again thank you John Armstrong

We were very hesitant to stay at this RV park, however being that it was memorial weekend our options were slim.
Granted, it is not the newport dunes rv park, however it was clean, easy to access and inexpensive. The park caretakers Joe & Robin are more than accommodating and are really easy going.
The pool was heated and the kids enjoyed the game room and Easy to ride our bikes to the beach.
Overall, we had a really nice weekend and would not hesitate to stay here again!

This is my first Unilocal review, but I felt it was needed.
Oceanside RV Park, we were there for 4 days.
First the positive, the staff were very friendly.
Now the negative, these first few issues were beyond the control of the park, but regardless still negative.
1) The area around the park is horrible, the city of Oceanside is very dumpy, homeless everywhere, and nowhere to walk or eat in the vicinity of the park that we felt safe, definitely not at night. We did walk to the beach, but again, not the greatest area, never walked there again.
2) The train runs next to the park every 20 minutes, from 5:30 am to late in the evening.
Negative: that I felt were park related issues that are easy to fix.
1) The park itself is pretty run down, it needs a lot of maintenance and up keep. Foxtails and weeds everywhere around the campsites, which is a bad thing if you have pets. I don’t mean just a few, but they were everywhere.
2) RV hookups were covered in weeds and not marked, people were plugged in everywhere. Like all RV parks we’ve stayed at, everything should be on the same side and marked. Our water was on the opposite side of our trailer and the sewer line is uphill at a 30 foot run.
3) Bathrooms, they’re only two bathrooms for the entire park and one was out of order the entire stay. I asked at the front desk and they said it was fixed and the sign should have been removed, yet the sign remained up and the bathroom was still down on our last day.
4) Other than the dog run (that’s right next to the train tracks), there is nowhere for the pets to go the bathroom, every little bit of land is cement.
5) This park also can be reserved monthly, so it’s really not the campground feel, in fact quite boring, I didn’t see one kid riding a bike or a skateboard, just dead.
With all that being said, we won’t go back. I had another reservation later in the year that I cancelled.

Clean streets, clean facilities and close to all the action. The RV plots are a good size and hook-​ups work great. If you have pets, they have a pet run to stretch their legs. Park hosts, Joe and Robyn, were the true cherry on top. They go above and beyond, being available and helpful when getting settled. We would return!

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend (Fri-​Monday). Our main destination was Legoland for the weekend. Our 1^st night we arrived was not an issue. However, the morning of our second night we woke up to our tent– trailer (pop up) swarming with ants! Yes! Awful! My husband had to make an emergency run to get ant spray. I’ve never had to deal with ants camping, ever!
The campsite we were given did not have an outside table. So the only place we could sit was inside our trailer.
My other issue was early Saturday morning I woke up to go to the restroom/​shower only to discover it was locked! I called the front desk and the gentlemen answered. He said «yes, you need a key.» However, coming in late the night before I was NOT given a key. He said he would be in by 9 am (although that was too late for me). I went on a walk to find the camp host. Fortunately, another camper LOANED me their key so I could use the restroom/​shower.
Lastly, at checkout I went to pay. He had already charged my card, which was fine. But upon looking more closely, I realized he overcharged me. I brought it to his attention and he said «thats the rate.» I reminded him I had AAA. He said «yes, you were charged for the kids.» WHAT?!? I’ve never been charged for my kids, my family of 4! So watch out, you’ll be charged for your kids at this place.
We most likely won’t be back to this place.

Just finished our 3 day stay and boy am I glad that’s over with. Our stay started off with someone else camped in one of our two spots we rented. The manager first asked us to knock on their door and tell them to move but once we found out they weren’t there the manager then asked us if we would use our own truck to move their trailer. I could not believe she asked that question. Then the manager said she would make them move as soon as they returned but for now we could use a different spot much further away for the time being and she would let us know as soon as the problem was resolved. That was the last we ever heard about it from the manager. There is a pool table that you have to pay to use but all of the pool sticks are missing tips and are in bad shape. The management here is not kid friendly and are constantly coming around telling everyone’s kid not to do this and not to do that. All of our kids are well behaved and enjoy just being kids but its not welcomed here. They have a terrible ant infestation as some of the other reviews have stated. For the amount of money they charge per night it’s definitely NOT worth all the problems that are included.

They need to spend some of there profit and do a serious remodel
On top of that they are under staffed.
The reason I know this is because the last time I stayed there I forgot my kids skate board, I called the office and asked the only lady working there if she could please go look at my spot and try to find my board.
she told me she was busy and that she would call me back Yep no call.
So I went back myself and ended up finding it at a neighbors spot.

This is our 8^th yr staying at this once welcoming, enjoyable rv park. We come once a yr in June for the annual Camp Pendleton Mud Run. A group of us rent between 2 – 3 tent sites and campout, bbq & enjoy the pool & jacuzzi. Unfortunately this will most likely be our last year. Not sure if there was a management change, but the Asian lady we delt with at checkout on Friday, June 6^th, 2014., was NOT welcoming. Apparently, they bolt lock the bathrooms at 10pm till 6am, so not even the access keys you are given can’t open them. When I voiced my displeasure at that and asked what the women and kids were supposed to do after 10pm, I was told «just hold it.» After several minutes of heated discussion, I was given a master key for an extra deposit fee. The whole vibe has changed and we all were unhappy.

This is by far the worst RV park we have visited. Between the homeless people traversing through the park to the apparent illegal aliens they use for picking up trash just freaks me out. And the lady who pretended to be the manager but ended up being the owner, is the most inconsiderate and unfriendly person I have ever encountered (in or outside of an RV park). 2 out of 3 of my neighbors where I parked had rust flowing out of their space and a bicycle repair business with junk all over. A walk around the park revealed other obvious long term tenants. This is not your normal RV park. We will not return, that’s for sure. And forget about a refund, they need that money you gave them already.

The guy that works here is mean to children and is rude to them even if they have a scooter and the campground has a bad ant infestation and the showers and restrooms are terrible the guy will write down anything you do in his little spiral if you literally go 2 feet I would not recommend this campground for younger people

We decided to make a last minute fun run to the ocean… we could not find a place to park our rev in the regular places so we found this place… over the phone I asked the lady if there was somewhere we could park our trailer because we were pulling our car behind… she was like… uhhhh. Ummmmm uhhhhh ummmmm nooooo. Uhhhh… so I said do you know of a place… I got the same befuddled response. So I just made our four day reservation and she kept saying if you pay your deposit of 87 you won’t get it back… li was like… ok…knowing the credit card business… yes I will… so we head down here have to find a place to park out trailer… I will Unilocal about that wonderful place next, We get here to this park get our spot get settled and go to the beach. The beach is close by. there are a lot of people who, live here on a permanent basis in some pretty run down trailers, the place itself is pretty run down. The trees and landscape is not maintained at all. There is no grass just weeds. And a lot of them. There are a lot of wild children, and I have children, but they are running wild in the park at night… no parents… kind of wild. Do not like it. I do like the laundry facilities. The showers had ants in the showers… had to wash them away before I could shower, I am very allergic to them. The dog area is a nice idea, however, it has sawdust, and all the dog urine has collected over a long period of time and it is so overwhelming, I couldn’t understand why I was having accidents with my dogs in the motor home… hence the nice laundry facility. The smell on their feet from the sawdust was creating some issues! overall the location is close to the beach, if you drive… but, the neighborhood is not great… the park is pretty Beverly Hillbillies minus the oil! Hot tub was not working pool was ice ice ice cold and full of children. The same crazy children… some ghetto white trash tribe… I also forgot to tell you about the mold in the showers… it has been there quite a while… I bought some bleach and threw it in to have clean floors while I shower. Lets discuss the occasional bat to the face of sewer smell… randomly throughout the park, most recently drifting into our rv. It will literally knock your shoes off! I keep telling myself this is a great location… it is getting harder to believe it? There is a swamp like thing running behind the rv park and a train on the opposite side. All the trees in this park are chopped off about 5 feet up… weird and some things were locked up maybe 25 years ago and just left there to fall apart?.. the main office smells of old attic and is filled with a ton of bookes randomly placed… odd…nothing to buy here… nothing you might need. and quarters for the machines… back to the lady up front who is completely clueless… Quarters…not enough to actually do laundry. The people wandering around the park Are not the normal nice rv people we are used to. This park seems to be like a trailer park that is kind of down trodden. Full of crazy children, a handicapped hooker looking for biz while her man leaves… just not like an rv park… No grass, just really tall weeds, and ants… lots of ants… lots and lots and lots and lots of little biting ants, that the people who live here know how to keep from getting in their rvs, wipe vaseline around hoses, sprinkle ajax around all tires and lifts that touch the ground. We came back from the beach to a mass of ants around our door, where i had thrown a small towel with water on it before we let… that was a no no… also there was a pile of dog poop by our door… NICE…this place is straight out of the ghetto. Now as I ask around i think the ding bat up front over charged me, i thought that at first, i kept asking what the good sam’s discount was and she kept avoiding it. i think she just made the rate up…87.00 a night i pretty steep for this dump.

This is a clean, quiet park. We enjoyed our stay here. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The pool and bathrooms were clean also. The one thing I would change is the landscaping, it is overgrown and messy.

We stayed at Oceanside RV park over Labor day weekend because it was the only place that had availability near the ocean. We paid $ 67, which was fine with us considering the holiday and proximity to the beach. It was very quiet the first night, but the second night the train was so loud, I had to wear earplugs to get any sleep. This is my only complaint, though. The earplugs worked, and the rest of our stay was good. We even ended up liking the fact that the train was across the street; for $ 2 we hopped on the train (which was surprisingly clean!) and went over to the pier and shops. The pier is only a mile and a half from the RV park, but after a full day at the beach and shops, it was nice not to have to walk back in the dark. We really liked this park, overall, and would definitely go back.

We arrived on a late Friday night, and the office was closed. They had left our name on a paper that was on the office glass entry door with our designated weekend parking lot spot.
After we parked our RV, My wife wanted to use their restroom, but that was locked up.
The courteous RV lot night caretaker was there to give us the keys to the restroom but we had to leave a $ 10 deposit. After he gave us the keys, he gave us the reciept for the deposit.
The although the RV park is a little outdated, the RV park is kept clean, A lot of the RVs and trailers look as if they are permanent residents. The clean and shallow swimming pool is heated in the winter months and the water was warm when our kids went swimming it. The RV park is very quiet at night. The narrow RV campsites are somewhat private with a fence separating each campsite.
The main buidling bathrooms were also clean but the showers have soap scum and a little mildew. The bathrooms could use some freshening up (new paint, new floor tiles, and a thorough scrub down in the showers).
Their location is ideal. They are within a 5 to 10 minute walking distance of the beach. There is a bowling alley near the street corner. And the best breakfast «BEACH BREAK CAFE» restaurant is a 5 minute drive away– you should go there for breakfast but arrive there before 7;30am to avoid the rush.
We had chosen Oceanside RV Park over Paradise By The Sea RV Park (their competitor) because of their bad reviews on other sites. Apparently Paradise RV is right on top of the train tracks, and that hourly train seems to blow its horn as its passing right through that RV park.
We could hardly hear the train at Oceanside RV. Overall it was a good expierience going there. It wasnt one of the best RV parks I’ve been to but definately better and much quieter than the alternative Paradise By the TRAIN TRACKS RV Park.
