Pacific Marine Credit Union

I have a car loan, a truck loan, and a home loan with PMFCU. My wife has a car loan with them too. I went in to refinance my truck, which is already financed through them. I was told there is a $ 100 fee to refinance since I already have a loan with them! They proceeded to show me that I would save $ 1000 in finance charges if I paid the $ 100 and refinanced. So, someone with NO account walks in and they give them a vehicle loan for free, but someone with several loans already, they charge money. They looked at me like I was dumb for not paying the $ 100, to save $ 1000 in finance fees. I will look at them like they are the same, when I take my business across town to SDCCU. They will lose my $ 1000 in finance charges for my truck, and I will be shopping my other loans too. Who is dumb now?

This place has a lot of negative reviews. Not sure why. I actually have a different credit union that is based in LA, but I bank here because its close to my house. They always provide great service and the people who work here are super friendly. The line can be long at times, but that’s to be expected at a bank on a Friday.

I’ve been banking with Pacific Marine Credit Union for 14 years and I’ve always received amazing service but today that’s wasn’t the case. I was helped by Jessica, she was the most unhelpful person I have ever met. She was rude and very unpleasant. If your going to have someone working in a customer service position they MOST have great customer service. I’ve very disappointed in the level of services I got from her.

Military members are forced to select pmcu when they join they can freely change banks after boot camp but like most kids we stay with recommended banks
On mid deployment you cancelled my card for fraud charges cause Home Depot got hacked you have any ideal what it’s like to pretend to be broke for 4 months good thing people send care packages with soap and deodorant
This week I fly to Houston to vacation and I get back to California and my gas is on empty you managed to decline my card after an hour after I use it at airport so I’m stuck at night with no low gas no customer service at night to help

I have 2 auto loans and a visa with PMCU and today I received a call from PMCU and they also sent me a text minutes later. I was concerned so I called back and spoke to Mariana who told me that my auto loan was past due. I told her I traded the car in last month. She asked me for the address and location of the car i traded in and I asked her why? She said she had not received payment and that she was going to pick up the vehicle «repossess» Really? I am still within my grace period and I am already receiving collection phone calls and threats for repossession! I asked Mariana to allow me to call the dealership so I can get some resolution to the situation and again she asked for the address so she can go pick up the vehicle for non-​payment. I don’t understand how ‘REPOSSESSION” would even be discussed when technically I am still within my grace period. I have not even incurred a late fee at this point. I called the dealership and they were able to provide the payoff check information… I related this over to Mariana and she was able to confirm receipt of the check! they had the check since the week of ⁸⁄₂₄ and today is ⁹⁄₁₄ … 3 weeks later and they are barely posting the payment. Meanwhile my loan is accruing interest! I sent texts, and several e-​mails requesting that they waive 3 weeks of interest. I should have not to pay because someone did not do their job and let the payoff check sit on their desk for 3 weeks. I have not received a response as of yet. I am giving 1 star because Marianna apologized. I appreciate that but it still does not change how i was treated.

This could possibly be the worst financial institution I have ever interacted with. I recently opened an account here as I am new to the area and wanted to continue banking with a local credit union. This was definitely the wrong choice! Service is slow at best, and completely incompetent at worst. Anytime I went into one of the branches it was a long wait and I was usually given incorrect information from bank tellers and other employees. They don’t seem to know how to do even the most simple banking activities, services that are routinely provided effortlessly by other financial institutions. There is absolutely nothing to recommend about Pacific Marine Credit Union. I’ve closed my accounts here and switched to another bank.

I love this location. Everyone here is so nice! And even though they’re often short staffed, you can really tell everyone steps up their game.

I walked into the bank only to make a deposit. 13 people in line in front of me, a few employees at desks were helping customers. What looked like a manager or at least maybe two of them one in an office helping no one the other one out wandering around. I thought this was supposed to be customer service, one teller and 13 people does not work well for me. the Vista location was recently shut down every time I went in there they were busy and there was at least 2 to 3 tellers, why was there one teller at 4:40 on a Wednesday evening I am NOT pleased and no one in line with me was pleased. It is unprofessional and unacceptable I am definitely taking my banking elsewhere. There is no reason someone should have to stand in line longer than 5 minutes I stood there for almost 15 and the line never moved. I apologize if I caused a scene but it was definitely needed to be brought to someone’s attention. The Vista location should have never been shutdown the employees there were very pleasant always willing to help and there was never an issue like this. Not sure if it was a way to cut peoples jobs but it’s unacceptable and I am venturing to a new credit union in the AM. This is not a complaint from someone that had a bad day actually my day was amazing until I stepped foot in your credit union this is definitely something that needs to be addressed and I was not OK with my experience! I choose to not give a star whatsoever if it makes me it will only give one. I work with the public everyday, if my customers had to wait I wouldn’t have a clientele.

I love the location! There is rarely a wait. The people are always very friendly. Ive been a client for over 5 years and I have no idea why their stars are so low. I highly recommend this bank and especially this location. Thank you for the great service everyone! It is appreciated!

I’ll make 2 reviews here:
1.This particular branch was fairly efficient, they replaced my hacked credit card account in a reasonable amount of time. 3.5 stars. Tellers are friendly. About equal to the service at the branch in Vista I usually use.
2. The overall bank service, though, is really bad. I would not start an account with them knowing what I know. At PMCU, I have gotten the worst customer service of any bank/​credit union I’ve ever used.
The dispute process is painful; more difficult than any other bank I’ve used. They do not have online forms @ the website to submit for disputes (I called a rep and he kept telling me they were @ the site but he could not find it, despite being on the phone with me for over 20 minutes. I had to go to the local branch and take an oath (really) and get fingerprinted – FOR $ 52. Almost not worth it.
They do not take your side in a dispute; they take side off the business that charges your card. Essentially, the company that gets your card information pretty much has a license to steal. (I wrote a letter on them on this subject; I received no reply.)

Our experience with this credit union was a joke and total waste of our time. We should have listened to our neighbor when she warned us about this lending institution… they are strictly favoring «perfect» credit. Come on now, reality check! Every other person in the United States has either a bankruptcy or foreclosure and less than perfect credit. Their commercials promise to help you out. Yeah right. I have 100% equity on my home and all we wanted was an equity line of credit not even a 10^th of my equity. We should have listened!

Worst bank ever. Do not bank with them. They have zero customer service. The atm card never works, I’ve gone through 5 in 3 months, they never updated my address or phone number. I’ve been told repeatedly that the manager Kate would call me back and she has not. I will also be submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. This bank should be closed down.

The worst Bank I’ve seen in my life when it comes to accessibility. Can never gain access to my accounts and there is no 24 hour call center.

I absolutely hate going in this Credit Union! The 10 – 15 minute wait to deposit money in my account, the lame apologies every time «sorry for the wait!» The people, some quite elderly, stand for what feels like forever. The darling youngsters (tellers) meticulously check, recheck and write on every check before they ACCEPT your deposit. To say this is tedious is an absolute understatement!
I can’t wait to go back to a real bank. I know there are problems with banks also, but trust me it can’t possibly be as lame as this financial institution; Pacific Marine Credit Union.
Maybe appropriate for a very simple banking need, no small business, no loans, as they say they are more strict on criteria than any other loan institution. There words, not mine.
The workers are sweet, but extremely inexperienced. If you need a real banking service keep looking, would be my recommendation.

The worst place to obtain a loan… spent two weeks providing the bank w/​different tax returns for a $ 6,000 loan on a $ 20,000 new car… had perfect credit and perfect financials but the loan reps do not know what they are doing…

I joined over a year ago to get low auto loan rate. Everything went well until I applied for a second car loan. I would be trading in my current and planned on financing the new purchase with approval letter in hand before visiting the car dealer. I was «approved» for $ 25K via the internet and stopped by my local branch to sign a couple docs, and while there got an additional approval for $ 2K more in case I needed it at the dealer.
At the dealer they offered me a lower APR rate so I financed thru them. The next day, I get a denial letter from PMCU, which was dated and mailed prior to me even going to the dealer.(1 day) The loan person at my branch could not tell me why this happened, so I withdrew my $ 20K I had sitting in my checking account and went down the road. My previous car loan was always current. No reason for them to deny me.
I would have been pissed if I drove off the dealer lot with this approval letter and found out I was not approved. It all ended well since I was approved at the dealer for less rate.
So long PMCU, a business review is in order,

I sent a client there and he is going to save thousands in fees for a manufactured home loan. I am a real estate broker and am impressed with the service and follow up from the Oceanside Branch of PMCU. Allison was curtious and Shawna was very knowlegable. I will raise this to 5 stars if they close the loan on time.
They did not close the loan and after promising they could do it left my buyer high and dry! Two stars because they could have been worse but I will not send clients there again.

Today, I visited this branch to do some cash transactions with my account in another credit union. Even though I was only using the branch because it is part of the CU Service Center network, I was treated well. The signature pad is large and shows you what you are agreeing to when you sign which is much better than the pads at USE Credit Union.
