Port of Subs

I love Port of Subs. Deliiiiciousss! Have been going there for two years. The Dominator is my fav! The staff is incredibly nice and you have to ring that bell every time!

Been coming here for years. Great quality sandwiches that are always fresh. Wish there were more of them around they blow subway outta the water. Love how they have smoked cheddar as an option as its my favorite.

Some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! All the meats and cheeses are sliced fresh to order. They have a huge selection of sandwiches as well as salads. I highly recommend this place! Not only will you get one of the best sandwiches of your life but you will also get some of the BEST customer service ever!!!

Tried Port of Subs for the first time today.
Reason is because I had an Entertainment coupon.
I usually get my subs from Jersey Mikes. The two places are similar in quality but port of subs is a bit cheaper. About a couple bucks and they have black olives!
I’m giving them 4 stars but Jersey Mikes gets 5 stars. They also have a loyalty program.

The place was ok. I don’t think it was the awesome, mouthwatering place that people described. Better than Subway in some way and worse in others. I can’t believe they don’t have horseradish! Boggles my mind. It’s not that unusual of a topping. They had a sriacha mayo but it didn’t have a lot of flavor. A little pricey for what you got.

This place is GREAT! The ingredients are always fresh and the sandwiches are made to perfection. The other great thing is that it’s family owned/​operated and they are excellent at what they do. I highly recommend it you won’t be disappointed.

Omg from this day forward i will pass the subway for port of sub any day, its been awhile too long. friendly people, awesome food. Fresh sliced meat, now I’m hungry again.

The subs were really good! Freshly cut meat and cheese. Comparable to jersey mikes (which is also very good).

First time here today, and as an avid hoagie eater and lover (from the east coast), this place is LEGIT! The bread is fresh baked every day and tastes just like the true Italian white bread back east in Philly and Baltimore. They slice the meats and cheeses fresh to order, condiments are fresh, crisp and cold. When you walk in you can’t help but notice how clean the place is and feels. All around a solid deli/​sandwich shop. I’ll be back absolutely. They have a loyalty card too-​get it! Points add for a free 12inch and free dessert.
Both guys behind the counter were great, worked at a great pace and didn’t rush us at all. The owner rang us up and she’s awesome. Authentic Italian so she knows a good hoagie, quality meats, cheeses and fresh bread.

We grabbed some subs prior to hitting Buccaneer Beach. This place definitely hit the spot. The dude making our sandwiches was extremely helpful and had some tasty suggestions. He was welcoming and encouraged us to come back. I had turkey with avo and bacon. DELICIOUS!!!

I went in today for the first time. This looks like a chain and it is BUT it’s family owned AND they all work there. The owner was ringing up and she asked if this was my first time. I asked if this was family owned and she told me yes and they all work there, her handsome son made my sandwich. She thanked me and invited me back which is so nice. I would come back just for all that but the sandwich was delicious. They make the white italian rolls in house daily and they make cookies and brownies as well.
I also noticed that they have a lot of regulars. A lady came in and the clerk asked if she wanted so in so today. This is the kind of place I love to give my business to. It’s such a difference when the people working really care about the business.

Great Service and Sandwiches! White bread had just come out of the oven, so soft and fresh it was still warm. I really enjoyed the different toppings on my Roast Beef. I was also hooked up with a club card, and you get a free sandwich on your birthday! Win Win

Found this place on Unilocal!Got the Italian #1 fat Tony & the veggie! The sandwich were delicious, fresh, & high quality meat! bravo the service was friendly, fast, used the Unilocal offer but kind of didn’t want to honor it, but they did!

Pretty decent place to get a sub sandwich! They slice the meat right in front of you, which is cool. I was like, «Ooh, my sandwich is so fancy!»
The food here is a nice change of pace from Subway.
The employee who helped me was really nice.

From the stellar customer service, to the outstanding food, this place is a WIN in my book! We came yesterday after church and experienced almost no wait. I got the medium vegetarian with pepper jack, smoked cheddar and provolone… it was OUTSTANDING! They were sweet to my two boys who were taking a bit more time to choose their toppings, but they were super sweet and patient with them. I appreciated the small talk that they had with us, and it’s even more awesome to remember that they attend our church! I loved the variety of «premade» selections for choice, like the Papi! I have heard from a few people that they wished they made the «God Mother» still… but not sure what that is, ALSO… I would LOVE if they could carry a larger selection of bread, I personally LOVE Squaw, and it’s one of the reasons I go to Submarina!

I was driving north to L.A. from San Diego, and was starving. I originally intended to hit a nearby Phở joint, but it was closed and, as I was famished, I headed inside what looked very similar to a Subway Sandwiches (it appeared to be an imitator).
Don’t let appearances deceive you. Port of Subs is faaaaar superior to Subway. The quality of the bread and meats is not comparable to what is used at our nation’s largest sandwich chain.
The staff was polite and the food was produced quickly. My only complaint is related to the beverage dispensing machine. Port of Subs has one of those new ones that dispenses dozens of different sodas, depending upon which buttons the user pushes on the screen. I selected Lite Lemonade, however, the machine ran out of my drink when the cup was only half full. No biggie, but when I wanted to get a different soda, I saw that the machine was also empty/​lacking the ingredients for about 40% of the sodas normally available. You just can’t let a beverage dispenser get that empty half an hour before noon.
Nonetheless, the sandwich (#4, Ham, Salami and Provolone Cheese) was so good that I’m still rating this establishment 5 stars. If you’re in Oceanside, check this joint out. I’m heading back to El Cajon for work again tomorrow and will probably stop by Port of Subs for the second day in a row.

I’m rarely in Oceanside but I had a job that took me up here for the day and I needed lunch. Since I’m not very familiar with the area, I selected Port of Subs out of my Entertainment book and hoped for the best.
I ordered two five inch (small) subs, both turkey and provolone, on sourdough. In hindsight, I kind of wish that I would have tried one on sourdough and one on the regular white for comparison. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty. I loved the spicy deli mustard.
The people working here are super nice and make you feel welcome. They chatted with me the entire time that they made my sandwich and actually seemed engaged in the conversation rather than just making small talk.

Sub madness is taking place in here! This is another one of those great local spots! Freshly sliced meat and fresh veggies. What I have ordered:

There are so many choices it will make you go bananas! If you don’t want a sub sandwich go for a wrap, griller, or salad.
Sides include chips, soups, and potato salad!
Service is always great and the sandwich a carefully organized with awesome goodness and jsut the right amount of sauce. So why are you still seating here? Get on up and try one of these subs! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available!

From 4 to 5 starts since three people asked me if I liked it and even remembered the order

Price is a bit high but with minimum wage going up and high rent for next to the beach it’s under stable.
I love the feel of the mom and pop shop this has. Won’t make the drive just for one but if I’m in the area it’s definitely a good sand which shop
