My husband needed an emergency extraction, the receptionists was so friendly and helpful, she got us in that morning within that hour of me calling. My husband hates the dentist and was really nervous. Dr. Carmichael’s was extremely friendly, caring and made my husband feel at ease. They got us an appointment at the Oral surgeon immediately and off we went. I can tell they are there to help and not just in it for the money, his prices for the visit was more than reasonable. The office is really cute and small and well kept. Everyone was great.

Never been a fan of going to the dentist. I actually dread it like most people. I was recommended this place by a dear friend and its been a great experience EVERY TIME. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick and easy service. Affordable on all levels. I recommend this Dental office to anyone who is looking. I always leave with a smile on my face and my teeth feeling awesome.

Found Dr Carmichael on Unilocal!Thanks fellow Unilocalers! I decided to look for a dentist closer to home of Oceanside so I couldn’t have to drive to LaCosta anymore and found this little gem! The officeyis clean and inviting and everyone is so nice! And no trying to sell me whitening or other cosmetic upsells! And Dr. Carmichael did my cleaning! Where does that happen?! My appt. was @ 8 and I was able to get my cleaning and check up done I think within 45 minutes! I was at work by 9! Awesome!

Most of my family has gone to Dr Carmichael for a number of years, love him… however beware of the billing and insurance authorization clerk! Be sure you get everything in writing, in detail!

I have been going to Dr. Carmichael since I was little. However, I recently had a change of Dental insurance at work, so I went to a new dentist so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVERRRR! I always knew Dr. Carmichael was the best, but it was definitely reaffirmed when I went somewhere new where they tried to upsell me on everything and wouldn’t even give me the basic cleaning I scheduled the appointment for. It was the worst dental experience of my life. I had no idea dentist offices like this existed (South Oceanside Dental– be warned, and NEVER go!).
Long story shot, I immediately went to my HR office, begged to have my dental insurance changed, and now I am back to Dr. Carmichael– thank the dental lords!
Dr. Carmichael is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The staff is always warm and welcoming. But the most impressive thing, that I always took for granted, and now heavily realize is that Dr. Carmichael’s office is FAIR, HONEST, and TRUSTWORTHY. All things you NEED in a dentist!

Dr. Carmichael provided me a great service as I called his office to see if I could get a veneer re-​bonded. His office was able to get me in on very short notice. He is careful, thorough, friendly and honest. I walked out half an hour later, with the veneer being more comfortable than it was before. The staff is courteous and caring. The office itself is unpretentious but perhaps that is why this dentist is affordable. I consider this dentist a very fortunate find. Many dentists today seem to be more about upselling un needed treatments than doing what is right be their patients.

I’m not surprised to find there isn’t one bad review for Dr. Carmichael and his staff. I’ve been going here for 6 years or so. He never recommends anything I don’t need, and always errs on the side of caution rather than unnecessary treatment. Recently a crown came loose… he saw me the same day and fixed it back in place in 15 minutes, no fuss. Every member of staff is friendly and nice, from the ladies who keep my teeth sparkly clean, to the super-​efficient ladies in the front office. Hands down the best Dentist I’ve ever been to.

He’s awesome and so is his staff! What a blessing to find such a wonderful person who’s honest, fair and just the nicest person ever!

Agree with all the other positive post about this Dentist and his professional staff. Very affordable, fair, and very knowledgeable in their field. He takes the time to listen to you and is very thorough and knowledgeable on what needs to be done. Very respected and I’ve always felt I was was treated with care.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I cant say enough great things about Dr. Charmichael. love love love him. Dr Charmichael and his staff are so nice and no one there makes you feel bad about your mouth (which is huge). He does great work, very very gentle and is pretty quick with it. My grandpa loved him (r.i.p) and Im so glad my grandpa told us about dr carmichael.

I hadn’t been to the dentist in a very long time. I went in embarrassed and very worried that I would have some serious problems. I felt comfortable immediately once I walked in. You can never over-​emphasize the importance of making your customers/​patients/​guests feel welcome and Dr. Carmichael’s staff did a phenomenal job. Dr. Carmichael himself… Wow! What a nice man. Put me at ease and I felt great. Even if he had bad news for me it would have been ok because he was so nice and professional. I see where his staff gets their awesomeness. Overall, a great experience if that’s possible at a dentist. Oh, and I have Kaiser dental (not sure why) and they don’t accept that (understandably so) but I feel his services are worth every cent I paid. I have to go back next week and I’m sure it will be great again. Highly recommend.

Came in for routine cleaning on both occasions.
Be forewarned: $ 75 for cleaning off you don’t have insurance –or– they don’t accept the one you do have. In my case, I had Kaiser Permanente insurance which they didn’t accept, and so I paid 75 DOLLARS to have my grill polished.
Service was genuinely friendly and very speedy. I even got a gratis toothbrush and some floss at the end.
I’d definitely return if I switched my insurance out.

Short and sweet: no waiting around, friendly staff, no BS dentist. Dr. Carmichael himself was very calming, kind, knowledgable, friendly and had great patience. They actually discouraged work that wasn’t necessary. This meant a lot coming from another dentist that quoted me $ 8000 in work (after dual dental insurance)! So nice to meet an honest dentist with a friendly, welcoming team. We’ve found our forever dentist, for sure. Just wish I had found him years ago!

I went to a dentist that my insurance company insists on. Got all of the X-​rays and treatment plan for a total of $ 20,000.
Needless to say, I got a second opinion. Dr. Carmichael got it all done, quickly and easily for less than $ 1,000.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Carmichael for more than 20 years. He is gentle, attentive, helpful and even available for emergencies at night and on weekends for his regular patients. The people in the office and the dental assistants are great also. This is a very homey-​feeling practice with top-​notch care. Highly recommended!

Dr. Carmichael and his staff are on time, very friendly, thorough and efficient. He is one of the most honest dentists around — you can really trust that he cares about your dental health and isn’t going to rip you off. His recommendations are reliable and fair — he is very upfront and friendly. I always have a great, quick, easy experience at his office and leave with squeaky clean pearly whites.

After trying a few different dentists in my area, I was not satisfied with the service and kept looking for that right one. Well I found him, and I could not be happier with everything about his practice. The receptionist is so friendly and makes you feel comfortable right away. Dr. Carmicheal is a cool guy, obviously knows his profession very well and goes the extra length to explain what hes doing so its a informed and comfortable experience every time. So glad I found this place and so excited to get all my work done and have my old smile back one day.

This place isn’t super fancy, it has your local small town feel.
First off, let me say this dental office has the nicest and the most helpful staff I have ever met. I came 15 minutes early and right when I stepped into the front door they already knew who I was. They both introduce themselves to me with warm smiles. Minimal paperwork and they don’t rush you with insurance information or co-​pay. They make sure you have all the information you need and that you understand it as well. I was lucky enough to know one of the dental hygienist, Michelle, she is a total sweetheart. The other hygienists were very friendly as well. Dr. Carmichael came into the exam room immediately after I did, he had a big smile and friendly attitude.
I went into this dental office with the fear of needing some costly dental work according to a previous dental office I went to. He took a 10 minute look at my teeth and explained to me that I had a discoloration of a filling and it could have easily been mistaken as a cavity. I asked him to take some x-​rays for my peace of mind. He’s very gentle when examining and working on your teeth. I would also like to compliment him on not giving me a hard time for my piercings around and in my mouth. Too many times have I been harassed about them. He doesn’t try to slap patients with unnecessary procedures. He’s honest and you can tell that all he wants is you to have a healthy mouth. The prices are extremely reasonable. I didn’t feel ripped off and I didn’t feel neglected as a patient.
Don’t go anywhere else!!! This is the best dentist I’ve ever been to.

This place was great. I wasn’t bombarded with a bunch of fancy furniture, flat screen tv’s. You know, when they show you how they’re spending your money. Im a cash patient because I don’t have any insurance and I was very close to driving down to TJ for some cheap work or pulling it myself. These guys gave me an extremely fair price to extract my tooth and didn’t fill me with a bunch smoke trying to extract even more money from me. They saw me the same day, and the dentist was very friendly.
