Description

Specialties

Soggy Paws is your one-stop shop for the health of your dog and cat, from the inside to the outside. We stock a plethora of natural foods and treats along with a vast selection of smart leashes, collars and harnesses.

Soggy Paws is the only location in town to provide self-service washing on Sundays. Our tubs raise and lower to assist you getting the dogs in the tub. Our unique set-up affords you four-sided access to your dog — you can get the cleanest wash possible with the least strain on yourself and your dog.

We also have an amazing grooming staff. We don’t do what most other grooming shops do by bringing in a mess of dogs at 7am and letting them sit all day. We book by appointment, work on your dog, and send your dog home. Individualized attention is our goal.

History

Established in 2004.

Soggy Paws began in Chicago in 2004 after Kevin and Paul returned from California and having utilized several self-service dog washes up and down the state.

After creating 4 successful locations in Chicago, we decided to take our show on the road. Because of family in Omaha and frequent visits to the area, we decided the Old Market (adjacent) area to be the best place to start. It’s geography, mixed-used developments and demographics are reminiscent of the location of the first Chicago store.

Meet the Business Owner

Paul R.

Business Owner

Paul was born/raised in North Dakota, spent several years in Chicago — about four years in California and then back to Chicago to create, with Kevin whom he dragged from San Francisco, Soggy Paws. Within one year we had opened another location, three years later opened #3 and the following year purchased another business to make it #4.

The mixture of Paul’s experience in HR and hospitality management along with Kevin’s MBA from Stanford combine well to cover both sides of the business’s needs: objective and subjective.

We still may have a fight about the way to solve a problem (like the time we knew the right answer was 18, but Kevin insisted it was 9×2 while Paul was certain it was 6×3), but that is what makes our product offering so intrinsically special.
