Suncrest Solar

We had a Suncrest system installed on our house roof on a lease. We are supposed to pay for the power it produces. I have maintained 8 years of reading my Edison meter and so I know how much power we use. My first full bill indicated that we used 800kw last month. We normally use about 400kw/​month. Last month my wife was out of town & I was only at the house maybe 10 days. We should see the meter go backwards, if that is the case. It is still moving forward, not backward. I attempted to call and email Suncrest, but I get no reply. I call edison, but they say it this is a transition period and my records are not available for another month. The email that were returned as I was being set-​up, no longer get replies. It appears that I am not getting the power that I am being charged for. It appears that the only recourse we have is to cancel the account they are receiving their payment from.

These guys are complete frauds. During the initial process, before signing any agreement, the sale representatives stated I would ONLY pay for what I used. Any overages produced by system, would result in a check generated by SCE at the end of the year.
After a few bills, looks like the complete opposite. I am being charged for what my system PRODUCES, regardless of what I use or not. So, I am being charged for 1770 KWh, but only using 800 KWh. I called into customer service, and of course no one wants to help me. They keep passing me off to different folks in the company, but no one has an office phone, only personal cell phones, which they cant give out.
I guess I have to hire an attorney to get this crap removed from my roof.

They seem very professional, but once they install your solar panels they send you off to a third party nightmare billing agency, Sunova, who double billed us then took s couple months to pay us back. We called daily to tell them that they double billed us and each day we heard that the money would be in our account the next day. They lie each day and then charged us way more then we used to pay when we went through the electric company. ITS A SCAM, DO NOT DO IT!!!

The roofing crew of, Stevie, George, Thomas, Roids’, Cheeseburger, (sorry, I’m missing someone… Daniel?) where prompt, engaging, and with a true desire to get the job done right. They were at my home bright and early and immediately set to work. The sales rep Sheek, genuinely made me feel like I was his most important client. They cleaned up after themselves, were courteous, extremely pleasant and I would truly recommend this roofing crew to anyone. They assured me that everything was fine, but on the off chance there was an issue, I need only call and they would immediately return. Sheek is truly an asset to Suncrest;, will always answer his phone and provides great customer service. These are fine, hard hard-​working young men and I was lucky to have them on this job.

BuNch of liars! Supposed to set up my home with enough panels to produce the necessary energy for my home. After 7 months of installation panels have never produced enough to sustain my home use. Tried contacting them about 5 times to fix the problem all I’ve gotten was «someone one will

Northern California Sales Manager, Michael Richardson, showed up @ my home to tell me how «bad» my Solar City contract was. Told him I wasn’t interested in his shpeel, informed me it wasn’t a shpeel, «I make six figures a year» ??? The argument ended up with Mr. Michael Richardson informing me he would return to F my wife and daughter. Class act these guys

How this company has good reviews is BEYOND me!!! RUN RUN RUN!!! This is been the biggest nightmare of our lives! I was warned by coworkers but the guy that originally sold us made it sound so great! If it’s too good to believe DON’T BELIEVE IT! Turns out he gave us a bunch of lies!!! The regional guy then came over to inform us one night that the previous rep was no longer with the company. Tried to correctly inform us of how everything worked. We were sold once again. without knowing what a headache this entire process would be. We have been turned on now for over 2 months and EDISON doesn’t even know!!! We are paying DOUBLE for our energy! Paying Edison for full price summer electricity production and their billing company Sunnova has been deducting our account for solar we haven’t even been getting credit for! Sunnova is HORRIBLE! They messed up our billing… the alert emails haven’t even come to us and they say «oh we’ve been having problems with our email system». I explained Edison doesn’t even have us as having solar and they say send them a bill and within 24 hours they will open a case and get back to us… NEVER DID! Suncrest has had to be the middle man. Which means… too many hands in the cookie jar and nothing gets resolved!!! Still not producing enough on the panels they installed… still double paying for my electric! Do your research before you embark on this nightmare!!!

Suncrest is seriously an amazing solar company. Brandon Price originally helped us seal the deal and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Truthfully I was a sceptic at first but he was very patient with all my questions and supportive through the whole contract process. Honestly if it was for Brandon’s care and commitment to excellent customer service I would I never signed up. The installation was amazing and the guys working were absolutely professional. They even went above and beyond to fix multiple broken tiles on our roof that they noticed were crack when they were up there installing the panels. And on top of that Jerry’s stucko work is truely artistic mastery. In a very cut throat business this company gets it — its all about customer service. So 6 months now and I’m saving an average of $ 100 a month but more importantly solar is a more sustainable energy source and I’m helping keep a brighter and cleaner future for my sons.

We finally started producing electricity on 11÷12÷14. The biggest issue we encountered is the misinformation and lack of communication that we received from Suncrest and Sunnova. Billing has been my biggest issue. Its been 4 months and billing CAN NOT still resolve the billing and/​or invoice issue. I have had 3 NSF charges in my account. Which 1 Suncrest was will to give me back. Now as far as the other two, I’ve had to eat those charges.
Every time I call its we are having system issues. Invoices are not being produced. For 4 months??? REALLY… I pay my bills and I pay them on time but if u cant tell me the amount how am I supposed to be prepared??? They create whats called a service complaint order but nothing ever gets resolved. I have resorted to STOP payment on this account with my bank and as soon as they have there billing issue resolved they can have it back. But I can not have another overdraft in my account. I tried to call customer service and management and all I get is that we are working with this issue with Sonnova. «Please go to your online account and figure the amount out by multiplying usage by rate and that will you total». really? That’s your answer. Well, what about if I had more solar’s added, Which I did… Now I have two accounts why cant I have them merged to one. Oh, sorry mam «We cant do that». Well sorry I am not refusing to pay but I need to know my amount before I pay and not just try to figure my amount or have an NSF charge… Still waiting on answers

Finally got solar! Been putting it off for a couple of years, trying to gather as much info as possible. Then one day a sales rep. Travis Jones knocks on my door and says he would like to sell me electricity at a much lower rate than I was currently paying. «No cost out of pocket» is all I heard. And after months of shopping around, multiple patient visits from Travis, and diving into the solar world, I committed. The process did take a couple of months start to finish but it was truly painless. The guys from the start of installation to the «start up» guys George and Ronny were clean, respectful, and professional. I haven’t started receiving my solar bills yet but I am anxious to see what this does to my summer time bills of $ 700 for electricity. I’ll post again after summer.

After reading a review from Stephanie below about her «experience» I felt the need to review and just say I had the opposite experience with Brandon. Door to door sales has got to be tough but you could never guess it with Brandon’s attitude. He was extremely friendly and helpful and did not overstep any boundaries nor was he overly persistent. He was a pleasure and it’s a shame to read such an asinine review about someone so sweet.

Based on the contact I had tonight with the District Manager, Brandon Prince, I would rate this company negative stars if that were possible. However one star must be entered in order to post the review… Mr. Prince was selling door-​to-​door in my neighborhood earlier this evening. He was rude and offensive from the moment he walked up my driveway. He introduced himself and was politely told, «No, thank you.» He continued to persevere, repeating variations of his sales pitch until, «No, thank you» was repeated three more times. Then, when asked to get off the property, he stepped across my yard until he was two steps into the neighbors yard. From there he dared me to call the police. When I said I was going to call them he further told me that he has a permit and he is allowed to access my yard, and the neighbors yard, to read the electric meters if he wants to. So I did call the police. Of course they told me that he has a permit to solicit and sell solar products and services. He DOES NOT have the right to read anyone’s electric meter without permission of the home occupant. They further told me that if he comes around again and won’t leave when asked that I should not call the dispatch number, but that I should just dial 911 and they will come immediately. Why anyone would do business with a company who has a representative such as this is a mystery. This man is not simply a salesman, but is a District Manager. This title certainly implied a professionalism that the man did not possess.

Unfortunately, I have to retract my glowing review about the service and how much I was saving with Suncrest. Seems that I was never informed that after solar is installed, Edison only sends an administrative monthly bill, but you ae still racking up monthly charges that you are billed for annually. I was surprised to get a $ 1200 annual bill that was due in full at the end of the year. Ouch. Had I been informed I would have been able to plan accordingly. Also, the monthly billing from Suncrest is spotty. I only receive email bills about a third of the time, so I’m not usually sure what amount they are going to withdraw from my bank account every month. Not as great as I thought. Just Okay.
Original review: Wow, am I glad we did this. Justin was our rep and he was stellar. Be advised that the process take a few months, but that has little to do with Suncrest and more a matter of cities policies and neighborhood associations.
I waited to write my review until I saw my new electric bills once the sola panels were in place and my savings exceeded expectations.
While checking the install, there was a ladder mishap resulting in a cracked tile, but the rep immediately called for a repair and stayed there until the fix was complete. Everything was as good as new within 2 hours.
I was hesitant to get Solar because of some stories of leases holding up sales of houses, and not getting the promised savings, so I ran it by my trusted contractor and realtor friends and Suncrest passed all of their objections. And of course I’m seeing real savings.
This is a quality product in my opinion. If you have the pleasure of working with Justin you will have a great experience. He is personable and professional, and instills confidence. I’m not surprised that he has already been promoted within Suncrest.

We finally started producing electricity on 12÷12÷14, almost 5 months after signing the contract and 4 months after having the panels installed on the roof. If it weren’t for Danny Stone and George Barry, we were going to have the panels removed and our roof repaired and go with another company. Danny and George both took the ball and ran with it to get the job done. They should be commended for a job well done.
As for recommending Suncrest, sorry, I cannot in good conscience do that. I understand that we had a bad rep and I understand that things happen, but until we got in touch with Danny and then George, nothing happened. We found out that the information that we received from the rep was wrong, that he misrepresented the company by offering us money for putting up a yard sign and for referrals amongst other things. Had we been told that we would potentially have to wait weeks for Edison to issue a PTO, we wouldn’t have expected to get it sooner. If Suncrest had replaced our below average rep, maybe we would have had someone communicating to us what was going on and we wouldn’t have had to answer negatively to all of the questions we got from friends and neighbors about how our solar was working out for us. Overall, the experience was frustrating and unpleasant.
Now that everything is up and running, we enjoy watching our savings and are pleased with the decision that we made to go solar. I truly wish that I could give a better rating than this based on the results, but I won’t. Hopefully we were just an anomally and everyone else has good experiences from here on out.

After being inundated with solar phone calls we finally decided to meet with a door to door salesman from Sunrun. He seemed friendly and upfront and we proceeded with the proposal. Sunrun was only able to guarantee 60% solar power coverage, leaving 40% we would still owe to Edison. Not wanting to owe Edison ANYTHING, we were not happy. Then Travis from Suncrest showed up at our door. We decided to hear him out. He worked around our busy life to find the right time that was convenient for us. He was VERY low pressure and was able to answer our questions (I had a lot) easily. We went forward with the proposal and were please to hear Suncrest would be able to provide 100% coverage with the system they would install and the price was way lower than what we have been paying to Edison. (which is a rip off) Qualifying was easy, approving the plans for the install was even easier. Within a short period of time, the system was installed. The electrician was very professional and friendly. The stucco guy, who needed to fix the stucco around the operating system, worked tirelessly to make sure the paint and texture was an exact match. The inspection went off without a hitch. Travis followed up with us on how everything was going several times and even thanked us with a gift! Travis offered GREAT customer service. NOW we are just waiting for Edison to stop dragging their feet and give us the approval to start using our solar! Can’t wait!

We love our solar panels. Our energy costs dropped dramatically. The first thing I did once our panels went live was buy a 100% electric car. Our system easily powers our home and car charging needs. Dallin, our sales rep ensured all of our questions were answered and he kept in touch with us even after the panels were turned on. Quality, and amazing customer service gives Suncrest 5 stars.

This week I had my system installed on my home. All the employees were informative and answered all my questions. Rudy the electrician was particularly helpful and went well above and beyond my expecting. He was very personable and made sure I was satisfied with the panel upgrade. Now waiting in the inspectors and Edison. Very pleased so far.
