Evergreen Tree Service

I’ve been meaning to have our trees trimmed for a while now. Called this guy off of Craigslist, about a month ago and he never showed up for our appointment. Forgot about it for a while then called back to try to get it taken care of again. He’s not the friendliest of characters, he cut me off saying I never showed up for our appointment and said he wasn’t interested in the work. Bad service, and apparently doesn’t need the business. He should get his ad off of Craigslist. Don’t call him, there’s friendlier tree trimmers out there.

I called Steve in response to
a Craig’s List add for free mulch for my house. When he arrived he was super anxious and wound up. I had a strong impression he was on some «substance». Half the mulch was unusable because it was mixed with trash, pine cones and branches. As an extra gift he left 7 huge burlap bags full of un-​mulched tree branches in my parking space. He said he would return for the bags the next day but he never returned. After two weeks I had to have them taken to the dump myself at a cost of $ 100+ This guy is not trustworthy and I recommend avoiding his service.

I had a friend refer me to Steve when I had an uprooted tree after the winds late last month. He was the second bid (the first was 20% higher than he was) on this soon to be rental home. I was so impressed with his knowledge of trees, I had him complete the back yard and clean up poor work previously done by others when I was on a short family get away. WOW– great job and now he’s doing my own place! I’d highly recommend him for quality work at a very reasonable price.

Called Steve last week and set an 11am appointment to have him bid on removing several trees from my folks house. I called him @ 10:45 to confirm our meeting and he said he was almost there. Great see you in few mins.
I showed up 11:03 and he was already gone. I called him and he said he had another bid and had to leave.
Seriously dude?
Job went to another company and the neighbor is also having trees removed so turns into a huge job.

So we called Steve to come out and remove two huge trees from our back yard. In our conversation he stated that he would be by, but please know that he was very busy. He came by gave us an estimate, his estimate was a lot cheaper then the others we had received. We made an appointment, he and his crew were spot on and so professional. Our yard was left as if the gardeners had just cleaned ! Thank you Steve for a job so well done !

We Called Steve out for an estimate on Thursday March 13^th for two palm stump removals. Steve came by and looked at the stumps and told me how difficult they were and that he would do them but really didn’t want to but he would be back Friday the next day. He left and I had another contractor call and said he would do them for $ 100 cheaper and could do them the same day. I called Steve and said that I had agreed to do the work with Him (Evergreen)and wanted his opinion, Steve said go ahead and have them do it. I got a call from the other Company’s guy saying it would be the next day. Since I already met with Steve I said that I will use evergreen and hung up. I called Steve back and explained the situation and he said well tomorrow is no good but how about Saturday? I said fine see you then, Saturday comes and goes with no call so I call him three times and finally he answers. He starts rambling on about some big job and really sorry but I am dong you a favor and blah blah blah. I said when will you be by? He said the next Saturday for sure after a job he will swing by. I called him on Friday twice and finally got a hold of him and said, «you will be here tomorrow right «? Then again Whittier, big job, I am doing you a favor, Blah, blah, blah. I said Steve I am getting tired of the run around when are you coming? I will call you Saturday and let you know what day «I PROMISE «Saturday came and went Sunday came and Went Monday came and went, no call. I called OC tree service and Carlos was out in an hour and quoted me the same price and he is here now on time and almost done after 1 hour. I guess I should have known better but a mans word is all we got. I hate to be the first to write a review and it be negative but I feel compelled after all the grief and headaches Steve caused. I wish he would have just said I don’t want your job call someone else.
