Eyemax Optometry

What an awful shopping experience. I stopped in after work because its time for me to get a new pair of glasses. I explained that I wanted to see how their prices were in comparison to Lenscrafters, as that is where I have gotten my glasses for the past 5 years. The woman behind the counter scoffed at me when I asked this question. She also told me I had inferior lenses. I explained that I had blue shield insurance and was supposed to get 20% off of my purchase. They looked helpless and the gentleman behind the counter struggled with 2 attempts to locate this information online. He explained that they couldnt find any info and proceeded to quote me on the glasses I was looking for at retail. $ 120 for lenses, $ 132 for the coating they recommended. Plus frames. Plus an eye exam. So I did the math and they were more than $ 200 more expensive for the glasses I was looking for as opposed to Lenscrafters who has a lab on site and does glasses in about an hour.
I guess that is what I get for trying to support local/​small business. I will continue shopping with Lenscrafters.

MY FOUR-​EYED FRIENDS! I have been to multiple optometrists and I really felt the need to let people know what great experience I had with Dr. Terry. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable but positive and personable! Dr. Terry went above and beyond all the doctors I have seen in the past. Scheduling an appointment was quick and easy. They also have a huge selection on frames to choose from If you are looking for a great optometrist, I highly suggest you come here!

Dr. Terry is extremely friendly & makes the experience enjoyable from start to finish! She really has a way with making her patients feel comfortable and safe. She is professional and extremely knowledgable.

Dr. Terry is incredible!!! She was able to answer all my questions thoroughly. I’ve always been scared of getting my eyes checked and she put me at complete ease! She is very knowledgeable and sweet to be around. You can tell she really cares about her patients! I’ve already recommended her to my entire family.

I have been going to Dr. Terry for a few years now she is an amazing dr. She is very detailed and organized very helpful and polite and always able to answer any questions I have regarding my eye. I have friends that have gone to her and we all agree this is our dr to go to. Her staff is always polite and cautious. If your looking for a family eye dr this is the office for you. They have a great selection of glasses ranging form prada, ray ban, Vera wang, derapage, john varvato and so many more. Such an amazing office and people that work there they make you feel like family witch is really rare to find now in days :)

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Terry was not a friendly person. All I could think of during my experience was her fake smile and how she talked down to her not just her employees, but even to me and another customer. Terry is not much of a «doctor» if you ask me. The second I sat down in her exam room, I felt that I should have gotten up and go somewhere else with my business. Her equipment is outdated and she had to put drops in my eyes so she can do her «job» and see the health inside my eye. I couldn’t drive for 30 minutes after the exam and it wasn’t very pleasant to have my eyes open since it made everything every bright. After the exam I got a quote for my contacts, agreed to buy then when they came in and was on my way. A few days later I return to pick up my contacts. Terry rings me up with an additional $ 60 on the cost of my contacts. At this point I knew Terry was a crook. She chuckled and did her fake smile and said «If you don’t have the money right now you can always come pick them up when your ready.» This REALLY irritated me because she just confirmed that she got me on a Bait And Switch. Which is illegal. I needed the contacts that day so I paid for the contacts, demanded that she produce my prescription on a piece of paper so I can go else where with my Money. I wore the contacts for a few weeks until I couldn’t handle my eye hurting & getting headaches at the end of the day. So I went to a Real Eye Doctor at Keiser for state of the art technology. No eye drops. No pain or irritation. They told me that the prescription that she wrote down was off from the results they got from the machines. I will NEVER go to Terry’s again. Every time I drive by this place I tell everyone who I am with WHY to never go here. «Doctor» Terry is a Crook!

My son and I have been going to Eyemax for years & look forward to our eye exam each year. Dr. Terry is knowledgable, kind, generous, & carries a great selection of frames. She spends time making sure to get us the right prescription & answers any questions we have. We would definitely recommend Eyemax.

Lacking in customer service. I set a appointment and requested time off work and was driving to the appointment and 10 minutes before I was as scheduled to be there the gentleman at the front desk called me and was very rude telling me they had a emergency and could not see me. Nice! I would definitely not waste anymore time on this place. I understand a emergency can happen at any time but there is no need to be rude. Hopefully the Dr and other staff can see how rude this staff member is so they don’t lose more business.

I’ve been to a variety of Optometrists and I have to say this has been one of my favorite places to visit.
Dr Terry was amazing. Extremely friendly and personable. She was thorough during her exam. I had LASIK /​PRK performed 3 years ago, and she was still very detailed in her examination of my eyes for prescription and other related eye issues. This wasn’t a simple 5 minute «which is better, 1 or 2» exam with no detail. It was extremely thorough.
Even though I still have my ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision (or better), it was good to know that someone out there cared for my vision.
A special shout out to Wil, the cute & cool employee up front. He helped me schedule my eye exam, look for glasses even though my vision is just too perfect for them, and even made a referral for my mother to come in for a visit. Such attention to detail by a staff member makes this place memorable. Thanks Wil, you’re the best.
And thank you Dr Terry, here’s to even greater future success here.

This place is tops! It’s always a friendly and fun visit. If you need some one-​day contacts to take with you on vacation, she’s always ready to give you a box to take along for free! They’re open on the weekends, so it’s always easy to get an appointment to work around your schedule. You can’t miss this place since it’s on the corner of Meats and Tustin.

If you are looking for an Optometrist, look no further. Dr. Terry always gets my prescription right, I love the selection of frames, and the staff is always super friendly. My insurance covers one visit a year plus contacts or glasses. I have been visiting Dr. Terry every year since she opened this office. I have referred lots of my office colleagues and friends and they are always very happy with Dr. Terry. If I need more contacts, I just call to have more shipped to me and I always receive them super quick. She also gives me free samples of eye drops and contact lens cleaners that her reps give to her to share with her customers. And she smells nice too.

We still see Dr. Terry for all of our optometry needs and it’s still a wonderful experience. The staff is top notch and I LOVE the selection of glasses (I change the style every two years … because I can).
