Came back again and had a much better experience. Again, a very small place but very nice staff. We got a shrimp tempura and a crab bowl, and were they tasty! Honda is a great place for a quick lunch break or a fast crave, not much for fancy-ness.

This is for sure my favorite sushi bar in Orange. Try Las Vegas rolls and philly tempura, so good. Great service and staff.

Not much into the raw sushi, but I can down some spider and crunch rolls. The rolls themselves are pretty big but most of all fresh!

If you’re looking for authentic Japanese sushi, this probably isn’t the best place to go. The sushi selection is very limited and most of the rolls are just California rolls with a different topping. It’s tasty, the portion sizes are decent and it’s not too expensive, but not my first choice when I need a sushi fix.

This is my favorite sushi place. I love it here and try to come once a week. I always get the #36 Philly Tempura, a side of calamari rings and a dr pepper. The service is great and friendly.

Ju is the sushi chef and he’s awesome! He’s friendly and really cares about his customers and is willing to make customized order to make you the perfect roll! I order the salmon sunshine, salmon sashimi, green train roll, and udon and they are all very good :) I recommend this place for it’s price and great food.

Nice, bright neighborhood place. Small, but pleasant. Selection of fish is limited, but what he has seems to be very good. I had big cuts of salmon, yellowtail, albacore, unagi. All were excellent, with small blocks of good rice. The chef tries to get to know his customers, and remembers his regulars and their preferences. Very personable. Feels like going to a friend’s home. One guy who must have been a regular, asked him for a no-rice hand roll. When the chef asked what he wanted inside, the guy just said, «Surprise me.» That’s trust in consistent quality. Lower prices than most places. Specialty rolls average $ 9. Nigiri averages $ 3.50 an order of 2 generous pieces. If I lived closer, I’d come back.

Honda Sushi is the only sushi restaurant I’ll ever go to! I got the Basic Salmon and it was amazing, it was just the right amount. We also had the Tuna Sunset and the Salmon Sunshine The Tuna Sunset was phenomenal and not too spicy! The Salmon Sunshine was delicious and once again, not too spicy! Overall, great restaurant, great service, and great food! NOTE: This restaurant isn’t very big so not a good place for huge groups.

I really do not have anything negative to say about this place. This is a great casual place to get grub for the bang of your buck. I love that they have other things than just the usual sushi — like the poke bowl I had(Which was massive) in my opinion — Its small and quaint. My friend and I grabbed lunch here and we were served by what seemed to be a shy server. He would always speak super low when asking us about what we wanted/how we were doing. So, I asked him to repeat himself a few times. They also have cheesy paper signs for the various promo food they have. It really doesn’t cost to much to get decent paper and laminate them. — just saying as someone who has a passion for design/art — But again a great casual place with great portions and great food. I suggest trying the tempura oreo with green tea ice cream. It is delicious. Note: Not good for large groups more than maybe 8 people if you want to sit together

This place surprised me! The sushi rolls were fresh, flavorful, big portions and all at a reasonable prices. I tried two different kind of sushi rolls(Alaskans and Yellow tail), ordered some shrimp tempura and a miso soup. Everything was tasty and satisfying. Also the staff were super friendly and very attentive. I definitely will be back and try the other rolls on the menu.

I only eat sushi here!!! Yes, if Ju is not making my sushi with Brown Rice. I’m not eating it! My whole pregnancy I ate here, however anything I wanted he made sure the fish was cooked all the way(although I wanted the raw stuff; Pregnant women can not consume raw meat) However, Yes, I trust him that much!!! I’ve been here for birthdays if someone comes to California for their first time we take them to Honda Sushi!!! Service is great ! atmosphere is great ! He knows your name if you come over and over again. because he loves his job and his customers!!! Try any and everything; it all tastes good!!! Every time!!! Vegan & Vegetarian friendly also! Ju is here Tuesday’s — Saturday’s I believe. Just go and met the owner and experience greatness !!

Honda sushi is an unexpected gem! Just ordered a sushi party platter and they were extremely helpful. I called up and spoke with Jun over the phone, he explained the party platter options they had available however I wanted a little bit more. I let Jun know about how much I wanted to spend and told him to go wild and build us whatever he thought was good and fair for the price and boy did they deliver. We got 2 sushi platters, miso soups and all the fixings, ie. Wasabi, soy sauce, spicy mayo, ect. Couldn’t have been better! The fish was also very fresh, nicely cut and presented perfectly. They were super nice and helpful over the phone after getting turned down at 2 other places. Found our new sushi place here in Orange, come check it out!

Honda Sushi was one of those many places on Tustin Avenue that I would drive by for months and months, never stopping by because I already had my favorite 2 or 3 sushi spots that I frequented. But one day, while coming home after running some errands, I was famished and craving some salmon belly, so I decided to pull into Honda Sushi to satisfy my craving. My original intent was to order about 4 pieces, then take off. But somehow I ended up ordering a lot more and chatting up the proprietor of the place. Honda Sushi only has one sushi chef and usually one or two servers, depending on the day and time, and one helper in the back(for the cooked /grilled food), so it can get really busy at times and you might have to wait awhile for your food during peak hours. The place has some neat decorations and it’s fairly austere, simple and there’s nothing fancy about this place, nor is it a dive. It’s somewhere in the middle. Let’s say it’s comfortable. There are daily specials posted outside of the restaurant and when you first enter there’s a sign that reads«Please Wait To Be Seated». There’s a TV at the end of the restaurant and since the owner, Ju, is a baseball fan, you’ll normally find baseball games on during the season. But Ju is a pretty chill and easy-going guy and if you ask him to change it to football or something else, he’ll usually oblige you. I come to Honda for the basics or when I want to engorge myself in a variety of rolls because Ju makes them pretty big here. When I write«basics», I’m talking about salmon, yellowtail, tuna, eel, or albacore sushi. You won’t find halibut or mackerel here, but when I want the basics, this is my new go to spot. I have found this place gives you a good amount of raw fish for the price you pay compared to many other sushi places in the area. And Ju and his staff are welcoming and usually attentive. The caveat being, if it’s busy, just realize that this is one-sushi-chef-type of place. On Friday and Saturday nights, I usually call in my order to go and realize it might still take 20 minutes or more to get my food, which I’m totally COOL with because I’m getting good sushi for a good price. Overall, I really like this place, not just because it has good food, but because it feels like home when I come here. And restaurant owners who make me feel that way will always get my repeat business.

I love Honda Sushi! I eat in and take out and presentation and taste is always so great. If I had to choose from Orange Sushi(also nearby) or Honda Sushi, I will always choose Honda Sushi! For one, taste… Second, for service… and third, for price! I recommend trying the sexy cucumber and the snow corn roll. Also their sashimi portions are generous. Sometimes if it gets really busy, service can be slower than usual but it’s never become a problem! My table always gets cleared, fresh lemon water refills, and check comes in a timely manner even when they have a full house! Thank you Honda Sushi for a delicious meal every time! Did I mention they’re on Sundays! ^.^
