Vivian Tran Makeup

When I first met Vivian, I knew it was love :) I came in for a trial and we were wearing the exact same outfit! I was torn between having my hair up or down for my wedding and Vivian totally convinced me that having it up was the way to go! She said that I could have my hair down for any occasion but asked how often I would get to have my hair in a pretty up-​do. Two hours later and I loved my hair and makeup! I knew from that moment on that I would trust her no matter what!
Flash forward a few months later and it was time for our joint bachelor/​bachelorette party. I reached out to Vivian because I wanted to look like a fox. Since I decided on having my hair up for my wedding, I wanted to have it down for the party. She asked if I had any makeup looks in mind and this time I told her to do whatever she wanted. Did I already mention that you should trust her? She made me feel gorgeous!
Then the big day finally came! Vivian and her assistant (I believe her name was Nicole?) arrived to the hotel right at 5am and started working on my bridal party, flower girls/​jr. bridesmaid, and our mothers. One by one, I watched as everyone got their hair and makeup done. I heard nothing but great things about both Vivian and Nicole. My mom is the toughest critic of them all! She was very nervous about getting her hair/​makeup done since she had a traumatizing experience in the past. After Vivian did her makeup, it made me happy to see how happy and confident my mom was. She was taking selfies! :) Vivian made everyone, including myself, feel stunningl! I have never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day! Thanks Vivian! Love you, girl!

Finally i got to write my long overdue review. I did a special occasion makeup with Vivian and she did a great job that day. I visited from out of town, so I contacted her through email and she responded in a timely manner. She arrived that day on time even though it was very early in the morning. I have worked with a few makeup artists and Vivian is so far my most favorite. She is really easy going and listened to what you look for. I showed her some pictures of the hair and makeup I wanted and she did her magic. Thanks Vivian for making me feel so pretty that day. I got so many compliments. Highly recommend Vivian for your special day or events!

OH. EM. GEE. WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN!!! I booked Vivian to be my MUA for my wedding (7−2−16) last May. I followed her on instagram and Unilocal,and of course became obsessed with her work. I’m from Texas and planning my wedding to be in California. I was in Cali last May for my engagement party and met Vivian to book her. She is literally the funnest, most down to earth person you will ever meet! From the get-​go I knew she was my girl! With me living in Texas, I wasn’t going to be able to schedule a trial hair/​makeup run so I just went with my gut and said «I trust you.» And let me tell you, when you say that to her, SHE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! I was actually in CA a few weeks ago to iron out some last minute wedding details and had a photoshoot to take boudoirs. Vivian is on a boudoir team and I wanted to use it as my bridal trial. WOOOOOOWWWWWW I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!! She made my skin look super smooth, dewey, and most importantly GLOWLY. I got compliments from EVERYONE about my makeup and asked who did it for me – even my mom asked what type of foundation she used. And let me tell you about those eyelashes… I went home and tried to remove them and it was dang-​near impossible. The next day, my bridesmaids had a spa day planned for me – we stepped in the sauna for a few minutes, hoping the steam would help remove the eyelashes AND THEY WERE STILL GLUED ON AFTERWARD! I was super impressed with her technique and the products she uses. She uses products that she believes in and she is REALLY good at what she does. During my boudoirs she was so helpful in making me feel fun, sexy, and CONFIDENT. I didn’t have to worry about my hair of makeup being ruined because I trusted her. I think it’s more fun when you let the artist do whatever she wants to do. And Vivian definitely delivered. I can’t wait for her to blow me away once again on my wedding day. Thank again, Viv. I seriously cannot thank you enough.

Vivian is the bomb! I had booked her over a year ago for my 2016 wedding based on her Unilocal and Instagram photos. Also, she’s not ridiculously expensive and doesn’t charge nosebleeds like some other gals but definitely could. Her artistry is definitely up there with the best.
We did both and engagement session and day of and everyone thought I looked beautiful and I felt that way! She listened to exactly what I wanted and girl can contour! Vivian is super down to earth, it’s like talking to your foodie girlfriend while getting ready. Cause she’s all up in your face (in a good way) so you need someone you can vibe and talk with. My makeup lasted all night and I couldn’t be happier, I highly recommend Vivian to anyone needing HMU for any occasion!

Vivian is truly THE BEST! I booked her for my wedding and it was the best decision ever! I wanted my makeup to look natural and Vivian did a flawless job. I have oily skin and was worried, but the airbrush makeup lasted all day and didn’t look cakey at all! I just used blotting paper a few times throughout the day and none of my pictures showed the oily glow. I did cry a couple times and my makeup was still good at the end of the night. It didn’t have streak marks or whatsoever like I researched. Overall, I was very happy with my hair and makeup by Vivian and would absolutely recommend her service.

Vivian was on time, and did a great job! She did my sister’s wedding, and we all turned out beautifully! She was easy going, and very friendly. As the bridesmaids, we wanted a little more natural, and she did such a fabulous job! For the bride, she added hair extensions and finished her makeup on time. I can’t wait to see her photos, as I think they will be amazing! Photos that were taken on regular smart phones came out beautifully, so I can’t imagine how great they will look taken by the photographer. I would highly recommend Vivian!

I wanted to thank you and your assistant soooo much for doing my Mom & Sister’s makeup for my wedding day! Man did we get the most compliments on how we looked that day. I’m not a big makeup person but you made me look amazing!

Let me start off by saying I never review and I’m a major beauty junkie = super picky. I haven’t actually had one experience besides my own wedding day where I LOVED getting my makeup done, but Vivian kills the game! I was one of the bridesmaids and she made me look über natural and glowy. She’s also got the most kick-​ass personality where you feel like you’ve known her forever. I reached out to her after the wedding to get details about some of the products she used on me bc I got so many compliments and she texted right back with deets and pictures to boot! @viviantranmakeup you da best!

I worked with Vivian a few months ago for my maternity photo session and was so happy with her work that I knew exactly who to book for our newborn photo session. Need some reasons to book Vivian for your hair/​makeup services?
1. Professional — Vivian is prompt when it comes responding to emails, phone calls, and other correspondence. She is timely and on time and always finishes earlier than expected. She ran 15 minutes behind for our newborn photo shoot but she kept me updated with her progress and showed up at her delayed arrival time and still finished with more than enough time to spare.
2. Talented — I’ve worked with three different makeup artists, and Vivian has been my favorite by far! She was able to achieve 2 different looks for the maternity and newborn session and was able to provide the natural look that I wanted without making me look to overly made up.
3. Great Personality — I had so much fun working with Vivian. It’s like having a girl’s day when I work with her. Our conversations are lighthearted and so fun that the time hanging out with her goes by really fast.

My sister in law just recently got married in Temecula this past Saturday and hired Vivian to do her make up (she found Vivian through good ol’ Unilocal). While my sister in law was planning her wedding (stressful task to take on, which I can vouch for because I was pretty stressed planning my own a few years back), she told me that she was considering two make up artists. And unfortunately one of them just did not make the cut for her, as she did not like the way her make up turned out for her engagement photos. And so she decided to meet with Vivian and hire her for the wedding.
Anyways, I first met Vivian at my sister in law’s hotel (she was staying at The Inn at Europa Village) Saturday morning a little after 8 am. Vivian, along with another make up artist, Carla (I think that is her name), on her team was there. Carla worked on my make up and Vivian worked on my hair (Vivian did the make up for my sister in law and did some make up for the other bridesmaid. She also did make up for the mother of the groom as well).
I told Carla that I wanted something real light but that I would just leave up the rest up to her, as I fully trust the experts in this field. As Carla was working on my face (she took a little less than an hour), she and I just made small talk about the different wineries in the area and also about food in general. She was very easy to talk to and was able to put me at ease, as I was feeling a little anxious that morning (I was the matron of honor and unfortunately I came a little late that morning and hoped that I did not take up take from the next person who needed to get her make up done by her). Carla shaped my eyebrows and also put on eyelash extensions. I thought she drew my eyebrows in a little on the thick side, which I was not used to (well to be honest, I don’t wear make up at all unless it is for photo shoots and special occasions. I also do not do my own make up and always need someone else to apply it for me. yep, I am one of those girls). But I didn’t realize that the eyebrows were what was throwing me off when I saw my face in the mirror, so I did not ask Carla to adjust it (throughout the process, Carla always checked with me if I wanted anything to be changed on my face).
Then after make up, I had Vivian do my hair. I told her that all I wanted was for all of my hair to be up because this wedding was going to be outside and the weather for that day was supposed to be hot (was predicted to be 99*F for that day). Then I told her that she can do whatever she would like with my hair because I trust her judgement.
Vivian was so incredibly friendly, just as Carla was. I felt like I was talking to an old friend as the time flew by. She ended up doing this beautiful updo for my hair that I thought really pulled my overall look together. With the make up and the hair, it really made me feel like I was all put together and looked the part as the matron of honor (because before the hair, I wasn’t quite sure but once I saw my hair, I knew it was the right look). Vivian took a few photos of my hair and make up so that I could see how I looked on camera and she was really cool about sending them to me so that I could send them to my husband and a few of my friends and family members.
After everyone was all done with make up and hair (Vivian truly made my sister in law blossom into a beautiful, mature woman. Her make up and hair was just so gorgeous and I really just couldn’t stop admiring her), Carla left but Vivian stayed with us. She was with us until after the wedding ceremony (which was inside a church, but the reception was outdoors). She touched up my make up, the other bridesmaid and my sister in laws. Then she left around 3:45 pm.
As the day wore on, my make up stayed on beautifully. I was afraid that with the heat, my make up would melt or run, but it stayed on nicely. I had that fresh looking face that I had since that morning (it was also helpful that the sun went down sooner than expected and the outdoor venue had those mist sprays to keep things cool).
Vivian is such a talented young lady. She is down to earth and really easy to talk to. She is very reliable and cares about her clients. I liked that she also took the initiative to help the bride and bridal party while transporting items to the bridal suite before heading off to the church for the ceremony (she just helped carry items and so forth, even when no one asked her).
I will definitely consider using Vivian’s service in the future for my future photo shoots.
Just some additional notes: Vivian is currently charging $ 150 for hair and make up (non bridal) or $ 80 just for make up. But charges $ 100 for more extravagant make up (her words «Avant Garde Type Make Up»). All services are done in salon, otherwise there is a $ 300 minimum to travel to location.
Her salon is currently in Garden Grove, but starting July 20, she will be moving to Tustin.

Vivian is great! Haven’t had my wedding yet, but I did a trial make up with her for my engagement photos a couple weeks ago and the pictures turned out great! She takes her time and talks with you through both hair and make up for the big day. I’m not a big make up person and she has great suggestions and photos to use as examples for you to pick from.
Picking a make up person was really hard for me — I don’t typically wear a lot of make up so seeing web pictures from other artist of really make up brides didn’t really help. I saw some really amazing pictures — both made up and natural with highlights on eyes from Vivian and after doing the trial run, I think she’s amazing.
I’ll follow up with a review after my wedding in May!

Vivian was profession but at the same time, very personable with me. She listen to what I wanted and delivered it with artist her work. My make up and hair for my engagement and wedding day last all day with no touch up. Everyone at my wedding complimented on my makeup and hair. Vivian is an AMAZING hair and makeup artist! I had such a great time working with her for our wedding. Throughout the trial session and the morning of the wedding, Vivian was meticulous and always made sure that I was happy with the way I looked. She has a true talent and passion for bringing out the best features in a person, and it really shines through her work. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with– not only was her service excellent, but I had a lot of fun getting to know her as well. She is one of the most caring and genuine people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet, and I will definitely continue to be in touch with her as future events come up!

Vivian and her team are BEYOND amazing!!! I am so thrilled she was a part my wedding. They are all so professional, fun, and so caring. They arrived right on time and really helped the morning be stress-​free and fun :). We even ended a little earlier.
My makeup was perfect– Vivian was able to combine my requests with her artistic touches. I used Vivian’s services during my enegagement shoot as well so we were able to try some things. Vivian was so patient and kept offering different ideas. Also, my makeup stayed intact the WHOLE night which was so impressive!
Vivian also killed it with the hair service! I sent her a bunch of different pictures and she was able to incorporate it into the perfect look. I don’t have a lot of hair naturally but she was able to use some tricks to make it look full :)

I had the joy of watching Vivian work twice now. She listens to what you want and openly asks you what you don’t like. After my makeup was done she said, «tell me whatever you want me to change. It’s not my face, it’s yours so it won’t hurt my feelings.» It’s helpful when you’re a people pleaser and would feel bad otherwise.
She took roughly 50 minutes for my bridesmaid makeup and another 50 minutes for the other bridesmaid too. With hair it would be another 30 minutes or so. I’ve seen her do bridal makeup and that took her longer. I’m sure it depends on what you want.
A bonus, she comes with music! She’ll play music on her speakers and get you in the mood for whatever it is you’re getting dolled up for.

I needed to book a makeup artist ASAP for a maternity photoshoot and found Vivian here on Unilocal.
She was really great to work with! Very nice and professional. I asked her for soft curls and natural makeup and that’s exactly what I got. My photographer loved the finished look as well! I will definitely book Vivian for any upcoming events. Thanks Vivian! Love your work!
