YEE: Fashion, Food and Fun at The Outlets at Orange

Does it make me a bad Unilocaler if I’m a few months behind on reviewing???
Just scrolled through my bookmarks and noticed that I didn’t review the last event I went to. But better super duper late than never!
This was my first Unilocal event with our baby… probably not a good idea to bring a baby to a Unilocal event. But I’m very thankful to Ryan for letting us all in… since having a little one, it’s been so difficult to do anything really. But we all enjoyed the event.
Great food, great people and really great outdoor atmosphere. And all for a great cause, breast cancer awareness! Even better. And the goody bag was filled with awesome coupons to the Outlets of Orange along with Unilocal stuff!
Oh and the models … very pretty girls!

Everyone raised over $ 1,200 to benefit Susan G Komen and spread awareness for a very special month. It was great to meet survivors and see fellow Unilocaler friends!
Food was super delicious, wine was excellent, photos are spectacular and The Fashion!

What a fun, fantastic event full of fashion and food!
It was so fabulous that it’s taken me about a month to digest all the delicious bites.
I adored how so much pink was out in force at the event, from the attire that everyone wore to the treats that some of the vendors were supplying. What a great way to support Susan G. Komen!
I most enjoyed trying some of new nibbles from TGI Friday’s; I can’t recall the last time I dined there, and also the tacos from El Torito!
The event was great, as it allowed so many people to gather in the outdoor space outside the AMC theatres, and was great for mingling with the crowd!

So I guess I am fashionably late to review this event but here goes…
Taking place in the heart of the Outlets (I still feel compelled to call it The Block), Unilocal joined forces with the venue and Susan G. Komen to put on a fun night of food, fashion, drinks, and massages.
I was initially concerned at the set up of event in that it would be very crowded but surprisingly, there was plenty of room to walk around without bumping into anyone. On the perimeter of the «circle» were all of the vendors– you had BJ’s, TGIFs, Dave and Busters… what you would expect from food vendors from the area. They also had some other cool vendors such as Stella Rosa pouring wine. Feeling tense? You could wait in line for about 5 – 10 minutes to get yourself straightened out by a masseuse. And once you are all relaxed and ready to let loose, Fresh Prints Photo Booth was on hand snapping photos with you and your other pink Unilocal friends.
And although I didn’t have a particular interest in the models that were working the show (first of all, I don’t think I could fit those sized dresses anyways, haha) — I did like the concept. It was a great marriage between the two causes.
Throughout the night, I think The Outlet employees and maybe even Susan G. Komen were walking around giving stickers to the outfits they like best (the outfits as we were instructed needed to be pink). That always helps with breaking the ice. My only gripe was still being brought on stage as a best outfit contender when I already found out I was eliminated… it is like going on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and they are eliminated before a question is even asked.
Thank you for bringing heightened awareness of the issues we’re facing UnilocalOC and Ryan — you have found a perfect medium to get the word out but still manage to make it fun.

But you forgot ‘For Good Cause’!!!
This event was so organized, and not crowded at all! Each wearing a ‘pop of pink’, we all came to support a great cause — the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer awareness.
My husband and I enjoyed the large portions of food given out (there were like 5 pieces of chicken on one plate!); the latest fashion from Neiman Marcus (okay, maybe just me!) and great music. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a photobooth!
We even won the Sweets from Heaven raffle, and might I say, those sour chews are just my kind of thing!
Swag bags were provided at the end of the event, and we were glad that the foundation had raised a good amount of money! Thanks to all the Elites who came out, and to Ryan C. and Unilocal OC for putting on another amazing event!
Thank you for letting us be a part of such a great cause. This is what Unilocal is all about!

This was definitely a meaningful and fun event. My mom had breast cancer before so my family had been through tough times with her and I am glad to have an opportunity to support for breast cancer awareness founded by Susan G. Komen Foundation. When we arrived at Orange Outlet, there were a long line full of people waiting to check in for this event. I saw a lot of food/​drinks vendors, photo booth and some models walking for fashion show.
There are many delicious food and drinks there. One of my favorite was BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse Lettuce Wrap, the wrap was spicy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the Stella Rosa Wines, I love how the wine taste fruity and sweet. The event atmosphere was lively and we got to meet a lot of cool Unilocalers. We were supposed to post pictures to Instagram or Twitter hashtag #OAOYelp for prizes. I was trying really hard to come up with cool pictures and asked my BF to take several pictures of me with the pink breast cancer ribbon cuts logo and other things but I ended up uploading one picture to my Instagram account (Poor photographer.)
In the end of the event, I won the $ 200 Visa gift card! Thanks everyone (Susan G. Komen society, All the vendors and Unilocal) for making this such a fun and meaningful event. This was definitely a fun event to support for great cause.

It was a lovely Indian Summer evening at the Outlets at Orange. I did a little pre-​event shopping at Nordstrom Rack and a little pre-​event caffeinating at Starbucks prior to heading over to the AMC courtyard.
Once checked-​in, there were lots of photo ops with fellow Unilocal elite friends, a photo booth, Stella beer, Prosecco, Stella Rosa wines and assorted food tastings as well as sweets for the sweet. Everyone was wearing PINK to show our support for breast cancer awareness. Models were showing off the latest fall fashions and the music was pumping. Burke Williams was there with free chair massages. As we left, we were given a goodie bag with Unilocal wine opener and various freebies from the folks at Outlets at Orange.
A truly fun evening for a great cause!

It is ALWAYS GREAT to give back and HAVE FUN at the same time!
It was good for me to get out and mingle with peeps after hibernating for a while. I thought this would be a GOOD way for me to try and rejoin the world.
Many of you know that OCTOBER is BREAST CANCER AWAENESS MONTH and in the words of Biggy Smalls… and if you don’t know now you know. This event was to raise money to help the fight against cancer. This cause is VERY CLOSE to my HEART. My friend mom died of BC several years ago. I still miss her so much! The mom-​n-​ator has also had two more friends pass from cancer. And the mom-​n-​ator herself battled cancer twice and WON the fight! PRAISE the LAWD! It’s HORRID disease that is running ramped in our society. If you have ever had to stand and support someone going THROUGH IT, it tough on everyone including the person going through it! So anything I can do to help I ALWAYS will support.
We get there and the final touches are being done before they open the flood gates and lets us wild Unilocaler’s and our plus 1’s in. This was E’s first Unilocal event. I have of course trained him to not touch his food before I take a picture. I even here him warming his friends when ever we go our to eat. So it was nice to show him a little about how we Unilocaler’s like to party and that we even give back. E is all about giving and serving the less fortunate.
Tonight we had the pleasure of partaking in both food and fun and get a little shopping done. A few of the participating vendors were…

Nordstrom’s rack gave out Yummy cookies. There was also PLENTY of COLD WATER to go around which was great in this heat wave and humidity we have been having! I can hardly stand it! The music was bummpin’ as well. You can;t have a Unilocal PAR-​TAY with out some good tunes!
I got to meet up with some Unilocaler’s that have been showing their AHHH-​MAZING support this last month and this last year really. You are SOOOO AWESOME! I REALLY appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and checking in on me to make sure I have not leaped from a building. Words can not express how much I APPRECIATE YOU!
Thanks to our WONDERFUL OC CM Ryan and his band of Merry Unilocal helpers, as well as, all the GREAT vendors that came out to show us a GOOD TIME and support Susan G. Komen! Let’s all help to FIGHT for a CURE! I HAD so much FUN!

I hadn’t been to the Outlets of Orange for the longest time, (like 7 years), but I was surprised of how of a good shopping destination it has become.
The Unilocal event itself was very fun and organized well, considering that there were many Elites who participated. It is always fun to meet fellow Unilocalers.
There were many vendors who participated for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Awareness cause. Being a person whose one of her family members is a Breast Cancer survivor, I know that every penny counts so women in need can have access to get screenings done on a regular basis.

Thank you Joe L for taking me as your +1 for the night! Tonight’s check-​in was high tech using our party passes on our phone. Quick and Easy!
Great event for a great cause, I believe most of us Unilocalers donated $ 10 or more to the Susan G. Komen Orange County foundation. Lots of vendors were out to support as well; TGIF, Lucky Strike, Burke Williams, Stella Rosa, Stella Artois, Dave N Buster, Last Call at Neiman Marcus, El Torito, and Fresh Prints Photo Booth. AWESOME!
The event wasn’t overcrowded and held out in the courtyard in the outlet of Orange; right in front of AMC theatre. Perfect place for a warm evening in the OC.

Shoutouts everybody for setting up this nice event. It was for a great cause too, but sadly I didn’t rsvp. I was however a plus 1 so I gave it a go not expecting much but it was pretty nice. Its set up like a social. They had the eateries at the block participating but my favorite was the wine and the beer. I really needed a massage too but the line was too long so I just chilled at the tall tables they set up.
The atmosphere was lively and it was a great event to support breast cancer. This was actually my buddy’s first Unilocal event and I’m glad the dude had a chill time. And shoutouts to all the winners of the contests.
PS the models there tripped me out so much… I thought they were mannequins at first lol.

My family and I have been touched with various intensities of breast cancer, so when I was alerted to this Elite Event by LA Unilocaler, Tim C., I signed up right away. Thanks to Unilocal Community Manager of Orange County, Ryan C., for allowing me and my +1, Van D., to attend this HUGE Event — I felt like I was at a High Class Fashion Show in New York or something similar!
Breast Cancer Awareness has been improving through the efforts of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, for which I am very grateful! My Super Cute +1, Van D., and I, proudly donned our «Pop of Pink» in honor of this worthy cause and donated towards their continued research and educational endeavors! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, so please continue to wear your Pop of Pink daily!
A warm mahalo to the vendors: BJs (pizza), BWW, Burke Williams (massages), D&B (meatballs), Diama Prosecco, El Torito (chicken tacos), Fresh Prints Photo Booth (photos), Lucky Strike (tote bag), Neimann Marcus Last Call (cookie), Stella Rosa (wine), Sweets From Heaven (candy), TGIF (chicken wings), and the Outlets at Orange (the venue with FREE parking, coupon book, and sturdy tote bag)! Also, from Unilocal OC — we received the Unilocal schwag of wine bottle opener, useful fan, and « Unilocal Helps» button! Yippee!
There were fun contests (post photos to Instagram) and raffles; and even a Sticker Challenge — whoever obtained the most stickers would win a Gift Card! I was so excited and proud of Van D. for winning FIRST PLACE: a $ 100 Gift Card to the Outlet! The audience cheered for her, knowing that she had great Pop of Pink accessories: feathery tiara and Hello Kitty glasses!
It was nice to see familiar faces in the crowd: Alana, Annee, Belle, Kym, Maila and Rudy! I was so glad to meet Ryan C. in real life — everyone (including Emi, the CM from Unilocal Hawaii) told me how wonderful he is! There were so many Unilocal staff there — I was so overwhelmed — way more than we have in Hawaii!
Aloha and mahalo to everyone for making this such a MEANINGFUL, FUN, and MEMORABLE event! I was just blown away!

This was my first Unilocal event ever. I brought a friend who also is an active Unilocaler, but isn’t Elite yet. We came a little late because of traffic, but we made it before they closed the RSVP. There was a bit of a line to get in, but it moved at a good pace. I got to meet the Unilocal community manager Ryan, which was cool. He was the one who checked us in. We donated our $ 10 for breast cancer, what a great cause. It was awesome that all the money went to the charity. We were doing something good by coming here. The music here was bumpin, I really liked it. The models looked great too, I loved one of the dresses. Cute pop of pink theme.
My friend and I mostly focused on the food. I really enjoyed the desserts and tacos. The tacos were bomb with El Torito’s new cheese corn tortilla’s. Probably the best thing I ate there, my friend even went for seconds. Some of the other food was kinda cold or soggy, like the pizza and meatballs, but that’s sometimes expected at a crowded catered event like this. They also had bottles of beer and water in big ice tubs for the taking. The water was a life saver, it was pretty hot and humid outside and it got even hotter when more people came to the event. It was really nice that they had those out.
I liked how the screen showed tweets and posts from the event. We ate, signed up for give aways and got pictures at the photo booth. Near the end of the night there was a pop of pink competition and Ryan announced the winners of their giveaways. At the end of the event we were told to check in and collect our gift bags on the way out. I tried to check into the event, but I couldn’t find it on Unilocal.I ended up checking into a different Unilocal event, but I still got the gift bag. I still couldn’t find this event on my own even when typing out the full name of the event, it just wouldn’t show up which was weird. I finally ended up finding it tonight through my friend’s check in. The gift bag we got was cool, lots of coupons that I will use someday. The Unilocal crew did a really good job. Overall it was really fun and I’ll totally come to another Unilocal event in the near future.

–Food: Lots of delicious free food. Some of my favorites were the tacos from El Torito and the meatballs (from two different places).
–Drinks: Free drinks! There were tubs of free Stella Artois beer! How awesome is that! I loved the free win as well. The Stella red was delicious.
–Lots of photo opportunities!
–Great music/​DJ!
I thought the fashion part was a bit awkward, but the event overall was amazing! YEE never disappoints!

I was actually debating whether or not I wanted to attend this Unilocal Event. Its a bit of a drive for me since I work in Santa Monica but it was well worth it! I got to meet fellow Unilocalers Robbie B. and Ray I and other friendly Unilocalers. There was good music, good food and great prizes! Lots of different vendors in this event including TGIF Fridays (spaghetti, sliders and chicken), El Torito (chicken tacos), BJ’S Brewhouse (pizza), Stella Rosa (red and white wine), Dave and Busters and many more. My favorites were TGIF Fridays and El Torito. I also enjoyed the Stella Artois and photo booth provided. Overall, amazing event. My plus 1 won a $ 200 gift card as well!!!

Great fundraiser event at The Outlets at Orange that showcased a variety of cuisines from Lucky Strike, El Torito, BJ’s, and more. Fresh Prints also made its way to the event and they were such a great sport as my friend and I ended up taking a bunch of photobooth pics.
Even though the event was held in tight space, it felt really big. The lights were bright and I forgot that we were in the middle of a shopping center. There were models for Neiman Marcus and people passing out Susan G Komen stickers. All in all great cause!

I am a person that usually attend events supporting breast cancer! My aunt passed away from breast cancer so this event was truly inspiring because the money that was raised was donated and I appreciate that very much!
Parking wasn’t difficult to find and as my sister and I walked in, I looked like a crazy person wearing a curly pink wig! They said to dress in pink so I went all out! Check in was a breeze and everything went smoothly during the event.
My sister and I enjoyed all the food, especially the tacos! What better way to celebrate taco tuesday as well! Everyone was super nice and thanks to those who gave me stickers :) (even though I didn’t win), I still had a blast! Although I did win $ 25 gift card to nordstroms and $ 100 for an instagram post so I was pretty stoked about that!
The photobooth was super fun, although I had to tip toe (vertically challeneged). Thanks to Burke Williams for an awesome massage as well! Thanks to all the vendors for taking the time to support a great cause !

So thrilled to have attended my first Unilocal Elite Event of the year, although the year only has a couple of months left! Thank you, Ryan C, for extending the invitation to me via a Party Pass! I hail from a different Unilocal City and was excited to come to my first OC Event! Ryan, you put on such great events! Thank you!

We were asked to donate $ 10 each to support Susan G. Komen AND to wear a «pop of pink». I bought a hair clip with fiber optic hairs that lit up a nice bright pink and wore it and gave one to my friend (my +1) so we matched).
We were treated to 2 hours of fashion (models on stage), fun (all the Unilocalers & the photo booth), and food (all the vendors).
The food was plentiful! Represented were TGIFridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, El Torito, and BJs Restaurant & Brewhouse. Due to not having more than 2 hands, I didn’t try very much of the food. It was hard trying to juggle 2 mini plates and try to eat. There were tables to stand at, but most of them were occupied. What I did sample was good. I like the wings & meatballs the best. They were served warmer than warm and I appreciated that!
We got candies from Sweets from Heaven & Dave & Busters and a cookie from Lucky Strike Lanes & Neimann Marcus Last Call.
If you like a sweet wine and haven’t ever tried this one, you gotta try the Stella Rosa — Stella Rosso — Alcohol Grape Wine — Rose — Sweet — Il Conte — 1917.
That is pretty much everything on the label. I don’t know much about wines, but this one was perfect! There was another wine vendor, Diama Prosecco Sparkle Wines, but I didn’t get to that table right next to this one. LOL I also spotted 3 huge party tubs full of Stella Artois Beers.

Burke Williams Spa was giving out massages using those sitting massage chairs. For me, it was too hot & I was too, um, sweaty, to feel like being massaged. After spending the day at Disneyland, I sure could have used a nice back massage!
The most fun time was had in the open air Photo Booth! Oh yeah! I hate being in pictures, but when you can dress up using props, why not???
Some people call it fun, I call it trying too hard… but we were supposed to post pictures to Social Media (Instagram & Twitter) #OAOYelp for prizes. I did my best, but I am a little challenged with speediness. I won the right to keep posting pictures. I enjoyed seeing the posted pictures on a live feed, on the big screen they had above the stage. That was really cool!
Other than for the heat, it was an absolutely wonderful event! Thank you again, Ryan, and to all the vendors, Unilocalers, and photographers! I had a super time!
Oh, and on the way out, we got a nice canvas tote bag with some goodies inside for checking into the YEE! Score!!!

As usual Ryan C and company know how to throw an awesome event.
This event benefited the Susan G. Komen society which helps support ways to finding the cure to breast cancer — cancer an ugly disease by itself is something that has unfortunately taken way too many loved ones from me over the past few years. Was definitely great to be able to attend an event that wasn’t just about food and giveaways/​goodies, but also one that supported a great cause (I also walked with Team Unilocal OC for the CHOC Walk benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Orange County just a few days before this event).
In any case, onto the event. Considering the size of the event, and the number of Unilocal Elites in attendance, I have to say, this was very well-​organized and well-​run. It very much reminded me of a YEE a few years ago at Downtown Disney, which is also a similar open-​air shopping center. There was great music, lots of vendors, goodies, giveaways and even models showing off the latest fashion. Considering the bizarre weather we’ve been having, everyone seemed to be in great spirits and had a good time.
One thing I do want to point out — is Unilocal etiquette. It seems to be lacking here and there — I’m not calling out everyone — but just some things I noticed which very much reminded me of a hilariously-​written-​but-​unfortunate-​that-​it-​had-​to-​be-​written, viral email sent out by a Unilocal CM a few years back about the «inappropriate» behavior of Unilocal Elites at an event.
Some things to touch up on :
1. When seating/​tables are sparse — DO expect to share your tables with your fellow Elites. There were like six tables there — its not meant to hold your handbags, phones, etc — they are meant to place your food/​drinks down, yet I noticed a lot of people hogging up space with their belongings — if you’re carrying far too much stuff to put in the bags that the vendors were handing out — maybe you should’ve left some belongings in your car.
2. Clean up after yourselves, people! This is (or hopefully was) something your parents you know, taught you while you were still young. At least mine did. You will notice that some YEE there ARE actual staff that go around gathering trash/​used plates and disposing them. Some events have them, some don’t. This one didn’t and Ryan C. (our CM) was the unfortunate person who had to go around playing busboy at each of the six tables as Elltes just carelessly left their half-​eaten plates on the tables and wandered off — inevitably causing the plates to just pile up on each table. There were trash receptacles located throughout the event — no excuse not to clean up after yourselves. It’s really simple, when you’re finished with whatever you’re eating, pick up your plate, find the nearest trash bin and toss it in there.
3. Piggybacking on with the previous pointer about being taught to clean up after yourselves, I also was raised to respect food and you know, take what I knew I could finish. What’s great about YEE is that there is usually always food involved. Free, plentiful, food. The vendors certainly want you to try their latest and greatest specials — free food is one of the primary draws to what makes an Elite event — you know, Elite. I’ve never seen so much half-​eaten plates throughout the event — of course, had they been disposed of properly in the first place, I probably wouldn’t have noticed how wasteful of a group we were tonight.
In addition, what a lot of Unilocalers don’t realize is that in a sense, we represent our CM Ryan C. by the way we’re conducting ourselves at these events. The vendors won’t necessarily remember you persay — but your actions and the fact that «that was how those people acted at the event organized by Ryan C». Don’t forget, as Unilocal Elites we are the «best and brightest» reviewers and supporters of the site — so let’s act like it. These events are a perk and being able to attend them are a privilege.

Overall a great event and for such a meaningful and worthwhile cause. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, people! Don’t just stop spreading the word and supporting the cause after tonight! Keep it going all month long — heck even year round if you can! Breast Cancer affects a lot of people — both men and women (most guys don’t even know its possible for men to get breast cancer).

Thanks must go out to Ryan and the rest of his amazing crew as well as The Outlets at Orange for puttng on such a great event. A special thank you goes out to Dean W, for having me as his plus one.
While raising money for Susan G Komen of Orange County, we got to see a fashion show, throw back some beers, same some wine, and nosh on a variety of goodies from various restaurants, and several lucky Unilocalers walked away with gift cards and other prizes.
It was great to see everyone resplendent in pink, and having a great time despite the humidity and heat of this warm October evening. What a sight to behold, these beautiful Unilocalers raising cash for this cause.
Everyone walked away with a gift bag, and lots of goodies from the various vendors. All in all, another fantastic event.
