Intuitive Landscape & Construction

Recommended to me by another contractor, I really liked Muneer from the start. Honest, quick with information, willing to listen and very creative. He completely understood what I wanted in both my front and back yards and had no problem conceptualizing with me.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. His crew showed up every day, early and ready to work. They were very organized, quiet and respectful of us and our two dogs.
If you are thinking about a medium or large scale project, give them a chance to bid… You won’t be sorry!

Intuitive Landscape just completely redid our backyard and it looks amazing, like something you’d see in a magazine! We were so pleased not only with the outcome, but also with the friendly crew. Muneer has a great eye for design, and the final result was beautiful!

We recently finished had a great landscaping project with Intuitive Landscape. It was a very large project including an 800 sq ft pergola and about 1000 sq ft of patio, flagstone paths, moss rock retaining walls, fence repairs, and new plantings. The project took over 3 months, but Muneer had a crew on the job everyday, rain or shine. He is the first contractor who started a project when he said he would and, more importantly, finished on time. We are very happy with the outcome and have received many compliments. In addition, he and his crew worked with our neighbors to minimize the impact the work had on their lives and property. We still have a bit more to do this winter (bare-​root plant installation) and are looking forward to putting the last touches on the yard.

This is a long one, but please take the time to read. It is also way overdue! (My bad!!!) But this way I can give an update on a job that was initially done last November. I hired Muneer’s company for my 86 year-​old Mom, who was a «recovering» cat hoarder. Needless to say, the yard had a horrible urine stench and was littered (no pun intended) with cat feces. There was no real landscape other than an overgrown oleander bush, 60 year-​old ivy vines lining the porch and growing into the eaves, and a few volunteer bushes (or maybe just very healthy weeds.)
We also had a few complications with our situation, in that my mom already had been cited by the city for the cats and stench, plus she had only a limited amount of money to spend on the yard. Muneer explained what would truly need to be done in order to thoroughly rid the yard of the stench (which we, who have had to endure the strong lasting odor of cat urine, understand what a difficult job it can be.)
Muneer and his wonderful crew worked incredibly hard to remedy the stench problem, and Muneer designed a extremely attractive low maintenance yard with elements and plants my mom wished to be included. He replaced the old, nasty ivy and a few rotten porch posts with a trellis and jasmine, and replaced a chain link fence with a redwood one that added beauty to yard and privacy for my mom. All this for a reasonable price, given the materials and amount of physical work that had to be done. I knew Muneer and his crew had hit the mark when my mom was walking up her porch, she paused, took in a deep breath of air, and I heard her quietly say, «I love my yard and my fence.»
During the job, Muneer and his crew went way beyond the scope of their work. One afternoon, my Mom tripped and fell on the porch. The crew quickly ran over to check on her, helped her into the house and clean her scrapes. At the end of the job, Muneer actually volunteered to help me transport some feral cats from my mom’s yard if I needed help. I can’t say enough how much those two gestures meant to me and my mom.
An up-​to-​the minute update: The azaleas are in bloom, the jasmine growing on the porch trellis smells lovely (yes, the cats and their odors are gone for good) and my mom treasures each and every time she comes and goes out her front door to her lovely yard. Thank you Muneer for the great job, and for being such a caring person.

Intuitive Landscape just finished a total overhaul of my backyard and the result is beautiful, just what I wanted.
It was so easy to work with Muneer who communicated all a long the way, did what he said he was going to do and was really fair with the price. (I had gotten 2 other estimates.) He’s got a great eye, too, for what layout and plants will look the best.
They worked swiftly to take out over grown ivy, dead grass and strangled trees. Then they put in drought-​resistant plant beds, a flagstone patio, sod, a decomposed granite space and an irrigation system. All of the work is so well done; these guys work hard, pay attention to detail and know what it means to listen to and work with the customer.
I give them the highest recommendation.

I had a drought-​resistant, rock garden vision for my back yard that seemed too unusual for some of the landscapers I talked to. When I met Muneer, I immediately knew I had found the ideal creative partner. Muneer understood exactly what I meant with my various inspiration photos and badly drawn concept sketches. He interpreted my ideas and added so much to them, making unusual and confident choices and taking charge of the project with vision and integrity.
Muneer and his crew are wonderful to interact with. It almost feels like having a group of really nice visitors instead of a work crew traipsing around your property. Everything is done with great skill and diligence. When they leave for the day, they leave behind a clean and orderly work site. It’s nice coming home to that.
Muneer was transparent and honest about our budget, working with us to accommodate what we wanted and helping to leave off the things we shouldn’t be spending our money on. His scheduling and budgeting was ironclad and dependable.
I couldn’t be happier with my yard. It’s a pleasure to be in and look at. Intuitive Landscape & Construction has my highest recommendation.

I really enjoyed my experience with these guys. Muneer is a real pro, he kept his word regarding quality of materials and worksmanship, schedule and clean up. His crew was uniformy excellent. Our job, a lighting install, was executed perfectly — it looks great! Intuitive will cost more than the unlicensed/​uninsured guys but their price was fair. And for the convenience, reliability, and quality that Intiitive provides, I’d gladly work with them again in a NY minute.

Muneer of Intuitive Landscaping (formerly H and H) is passionate creative intelligent and an easy communicator. His flexibility good humor and solid knowledge of all aspects of landscaping make him an ideal choice for any size of job. We had a major project involving three big terraces sculpted walkways masonry rock wall construction reclamation and stabilization of a steep hillside — in other words a true test of landscaping design and execution. We got a moderate and in the end very reasonable bid from Muneer but made the classic mistake of choosing a low bid with a bluff quirky woman whose self confidence we tragically mistook for ability. By the time we fired her realizing she was less competent than a rank amateur homeowner we were three weeks into the project and she and her equally incompetent crew had done such profound damage we thought we’d just board up that side of the house throw down hemp netting where she’d created an inevitable mudslide hazard and never visit the most precious part of our property again. Also we’d tossed 20k in the toilet. Reenter Muneer. Again a reasonable bid and the vision to rescue us from what knowledgable friends warned us was unfixable. This took six weeks of work by a crew of up to seven. All were a pleasure to have around so much so that we celebrated completion of work we are thrilled with and proud to show off with a BBQ. My wife and I actually miss having Muneer around now months after the job as only he can really appreciate the ordeal we shared and that starting with such profound doubts turned out so well. He has stopped by frequently to check the extensive irrigation but really it seems to renew his enjoyment of an immensely difficult job well done. I have since learned that more than half of Muneer’s work is rescuing fools like us from slick low bidders so common in his profession. Save yourselves the sleepless nights and choose wisely at the start.

I don’t write as many reviews on Unilocal as I should, but this one I had to take the time to put in. Muneer and Pat of Intuitive Landscape & Construction (formerly H&H landscaping) are both excellent service people who get top marks in all the major categories of landscaping service. They listen carefully, contribute good design ideas, have lots of expertise, and charge very reasonable rates for their jobs. Muneer’s crew of landscapers is professional, skilled, hardworking and above all pleasant to interact with.
These guys did a fantastic job on my yard and were quick to come back when I asked for help resolving a couple issues. Muneer made sure that my plants were thriving and my irrigation was working properly — he clearly understands what good service entails and takes pride in his work. I expect to hire Intuitive for my next landscaping project.
