Dr. Lewis is amazing. Our son is 17 and he has been seen by Dr. Lewis from the prenatal consultation that we had at the Berkley Alta Bates hospital before he was borne. «Care» is the first word that comes to my mind when I think of Dr. Lewis. He always finds time to put his little patients and parents at ease, explain the procedures possible complications, etc. He will not only give you his cell number, but will swing by the office on a weekend just to see you. He is the best doctor you can ask for.

Dr. Lewis has taken care of my sister and I since birth! We are now in our 30s and refuse to give him up! He is the best doctor ever… I now have a son of my own born December 2013 and I am glad that Dr. Lewis is able to take care of him too!

We trusted Dr. Lewis with our son’s health. He strongly recommended he get the Gardasil vaccine and provided NO warnings of possible side effects.
Shortly after getting the first vaccination he became ill and eventually was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia (damage to his autonomic nervous system). He’s been sick now for more than 2 years! Recovery from this can take years, if ever.
I remember Dr. Lewis’ response when I told him the vaccination make my son sick. He said he wasn’t really sick and he was making up these symptoms… that the issue was psychological and maybe some kids were picking on him at school.
Dr. Lewis was even recommending he get the 2^nd vaccination! Do research on the Gardasil vaccine and what happens when kids who get sick from the first vaccine get the 2^nd one, and then the 3^rd one…
Dr. Lewis has ruined my son’s health and changed him from being a healthy and happy kid to being chronically sick.
Thank god I didn’t listen to Dr. Lewis and give my son the subsequent Gardasil vaccinations!

The best doctor you could ever ask for. I took my new born son for his Circumsission to Dr lewis. First of all I was lost once I got to Orinda, my phones gps took me a different direction, I called the office and the front desk lady who was exceptionaly nice on the phone transferred me to Dr lewis, I was surprised when he talked to me and gave me accurate directions to his office, other doctors wont even talk to you about your health issues let alone giving you directions. When we got to his office we were welcomed and dr lewis came and sat down with us and explained the procedure. He was detailed in answering all of our questions and much more. The procedure was quick and easy. My son didn’t cry much which I was surprised. He then explained the aftercare and gave us a lot of information. Throughout the time we were there he kept my wife and I engaged in conversation, cracked jokes with us and gave us information, unlike other doctors who will come to the room and write a couple things in the chart and that’s it. He even gave me his cellphone number to call in case we have any questions. I didn’t CAll for two days so he called himself to check on my son’s progress. I wish all the doctors were like dr. Lewis. Its too bad that he doesn’t take our insurance and we live far otherwise I will take my son to him in a heart beat. But if I can spread the word and let others know of how proffessional, nice and caring this doctor is then I wont spare a second to do so. Dr. Lewis you are the best, thank you so much for taking good care of our son Arman.
I hope we meet again in the future.

Excellent Dr. My newborn son needed a circumcision and we went to his office. We could not afford other doctors because the price was out of horror movies. Dr. Lewis circumcised my son and also checked on him by calling and keeping track of his progress. Amazing doctor.

Dr. Lewis helped us out in a pinch. We drove all the way from San Francisco to Orinda based on his reviews, and he even exceeded five stars. He is compassionate and willing to help in a most honorable and genuine way, even losing profit to assist us in our circumstances. I will never forget his caring during our time of need. In an age where it seems many people don’t have consciences or don’t listen to them, Dr. Lewis devotes his time and energy to doing what best assists his patients and their families. And despite his terrific old-​school way, he followed up the day after our baby’s procedure with a text message, which was cool and extremely thoughtful! If you live in the East Bay (or San Francisco, like us) and are looking for a pediatrician, expect to be pleased and for your child to have a wonderful experience with Dr. Lewis.

Dr. Lewis is my son’s pediatrician. He was recommended my by OBGYN. He has a very personal practice — in the sense that he is always available when needed. His office has «drop in clinic» during certain times of the year. It has been very convenient when my son has been sick but we didn’t have an appointment. We were able to just drop in to be seen. I also appreciate that it is a private office, and not a Kaiser type practice. His receptionist, Merilee answers the phone and Dr. Lewis himself does all the doctor stuff. If you are looking for a caring, practical, and knowledgeable doctor for your child, I highly recommend Dr. Lewis.

Dr. Lewis has been me and my brothers pediatrician since birth and continues to be so even though we are 23 and 26 years old now. He has always been available and excellent with diagnosing symptoms. While I was in college at SDSU and had constant chest pain that occurred for 3 months I finally called Dr. Lewis after having 3 chest xrays with no conclusions or any advice. He immediately diagnosed me over the phone with coastalchondritis and after taking anti-​inflammatory drugs I could breathe normally again. He is an amazing doctor and I will continue to see him until I have kids of my own who will hopefully have the opportunity to be his patients as well. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a personal, knowledgeable and available pediatrician.

Dr. Lewis has been my boy’s pediatrician for 10 years. We followed him from Lafayette to Orinda and I don’t know what I will ever do if he retires. He always takes the time to talk to my boys about school and their activities besides what is wrong with them. He is always readily available and will call the following day to see how they are doing. He understands that my younger son is terrified of shots and does his best to distract him while giving the fastest shots I’ve ever seen. Every time it’s over my son always says «that wasn’t so bad». Marilee is amazing also. She takes the time to talk to me and my boys love her! You just don’t find many doctor’s offices like this anymore!

Dr. «Lewey», as he’s known, is the absolute best! He goes above and beyond for his patients and their families everyday… Available more than most larger practices and very knowledgeable and practical; he is truly a great pediatrician. He’s been around for ever, all the ped nurses know/​respect him, a positive should your child need medical attention! Carries most common meds on hand, doesn’t charge more for them (i think?) and saves you a trip to the pharmacy. Sandy’s getting older, so get in while you still can… Don’t worry though, his Doc apprentice seems real good too!

We are lucky enough to have chosen Dr Lewis when we first moved to Lafayette. He understands kids and his experience is priceless. Once we were traveling, my daughter developed a swollen neck that I had not noticed before due to her long hair. I assumed her new molars were coming in. She was complaining of a sore neck. I called the office at 11pm, not expecting an immediate response. However, I was connected with Dr Lewis within minutes, I sent him a photo of my daughters swollen neck. He respond promptly and his diagnosis we spot on. She had developed a infection that he had seen before the causes the salivary glands to swell. He called in the correct antibiotics immediately. I was so impressed. Not only is Dr Lewis a great doctor but he has chosen a great staff member as well. Marilee rocks. Helpful, understanding, very capable, and personal. I hope he never retires!

Dr. Lewis is the kind of doctor that is almost impossible to find theese days. He is incredibly competent, caring, accessible and has an awesome office staff. My daughter has a complicated health situation where she needs to be seen immediately under certail circumstances and I can always get in to see him or speak with him by phone. He will meet you in his office on off hours rather than have you go to the ER in an emergency. He can do stitches, set casts, dispense medicines from his office and give shots himself. Marilee his receptionist always answers the phone, no long holds, she knows us by name. I wish I could find a doctor for myself like Dr. Lewis. I really don’t know what we will do when he retires.

Dr. Lewis has been our pediatrician for our 4 children ranging from age 1 – 13 since the birth of our first child. He has made house calls, sunday am appointments and is always accessible — never having to go through a service or outside resource. He is knowledgeable, kind-​natured and truly cares about his patients and his parents! His office is always clean, never busy with other sick children and the receptionist is the best! I highly recommend him!

We love Dr. Lewis! He has been great with BOTH my kids since birth! I strong reccomend him to families that are looking for great bedside manner, flexible hours etc…

They just don’t get any better than Dr. Lewis! I have taken my daughter to him since birth and he is without fail the most professional, caring and committed doctor I have ever met. Dr. Lewis gets to know his patients and understands that parents can often be a bit anxious when it comes to the care of their children. He fully explains anything asked and offers sound advice about issues relating to child wellness. He never seems rushed and always takes time to make his patients feel special. Another remarkable (and extremely rare) part of the care Dr. Lewis provides is he will call you back in a very timely manner if you need to reach him at off hours. The Office Manager, Marilee is wonderful too. She always is helpful and kind.

Dr. Lewis has been my sons pedicatrician since I was pregnant 6 years ago. My husband and I knew the minute we walked in (when I was pregnant) that he would be our sons Dr. He is warm, caring, loving, and always tells you every option available. He has always been available for us, never makes us wait and his staff is warm and loving as well. I suggest to anyone looking for a pediatrician to talk to Dr. Lewis. I would recommend him to anyone! Also, he has a drop in clinic in the winter where you can just show up and he’ll see you. He is that caring about his patients!

We have been patients of Dr. Lewis for 13 years now. From day 1 to today, he has provided our children with the best pediatric care. He offers flexibile office hours including the drop in morning time during the winter that are so very convenient when you kids wake up with a bad fever or complaining of an earache — you can get in right away and start any necessary treatment. He will take your call or call you back himself to answer any questions you have or just to check in to see if a fever or whatever has resolved itself. We trust him and even more importantly, our kids adore him — even when it is time for a shot or other not so fun parts of the visit. Plus, he has been a great source of advice on parenting skills and support we parents sometimes need. We highly recommend Dr. Lewis to any family.

Dr. Lewis and I go way back… what I mean is that over 3 decades know… since birth. I’ve gone to other pediatricians for my child. No one else can compare. Dr. Lewis is the best. I just wish I could have him as my doctor. (I would probably be the oldest patient)

We LOVE Dr. Lewis. He’s been our pediatrician for 4 years now and each time we see him we appreciate him even more.
Dr. Lewis is what I call «old school» because of the type of practice he runs. He has one office manager, Marilee, who knows everyone and makes all the appointments and handles the insurance information. he answers his own phone until late at night and offers a drop in clinic in the morning all winter so you can come without an appt. any weekday. He’s almost always in the office one day on the weekend and even met us outside of a pizza restaurant one Sunday night in the middle of having dinner with his family to push my son’s dislocated elbow back into place!
He administers and «loads up» his own shots (no assistants doing this stuff), and he keeps a supply of the most common prescription medications in the office so you don’t have to lug a sick kid to the pharmacy to get their medicine. He doesn’t overreact or over prescribe drugs, and helped me in the beginning to not get too upset by little things that just go away on their own.
In addition, if you have a boy and want him circumcised by a doctor, Dr. Lewis is your man. When we were at the hospital for the circumcision and I mentioned he was our pediatrician to the nurse she said, «Oh that’s great. He’s the one they call in when other doctors make a mistake».
Lastly, he cares deeply about kids in the community and puts much of his time and resources into philanthropic activities to help under served kids.
