Avalon Dance

My daughter absolutely loves this place. She’s 3 and has been enrolled here for about 6 months now. We even did the week long dance camp for her. Mrs. T is the best!!! Would recommend this to anybody!!!

My daughter continues to dance here and loves it. We can’t wait for the Spring Recital.

The instructors are nice. Kids had fun. Viewing area is pretty cramped but you can always view from outside the building through the window, weather permitting. Most importantly, however, the front desk has got to get their billing practices in order. I came in on a LivingSocial deal and was even kind enough to buy directly through Avalon Dance instead of through LivingSocial, which saves them money. In good faith I allowed them to keep my CC on file: big mistake. Last attended class on ¹⁄₁ and due to family matters and logistical issues, could not go back. My card was charged $ 118 on ¹⁄₁₅. So I think «No big deal, I’ll let them know we can’t attend anymore, to not renew the tuition, and they’ll reverse the charge». Nope. Not only did they not reverse the charge, they charged me AGAIN two weeks later another $ 118. So in the end I’ve paid $ 236 for zero classes. I’ve sent owner T’Kea LeGrande several emails about this. Her only response was «come down to the studio and fill out the withdrawal form». I explained to her that I would not be able to come in person and asked her to fax it. Two weeks later, no response, no fax, and no refund. I strongly caution you to not allow them to keep your credit card on file. I’m having to go through my bank to get my money back. What a hassle for something that should’ve been simple and enjoyable. Should’ve just gone through LivingSocial instead of trying to save THEM money! A good deed never goes unpunished. I will update you if the company redeems itself! Wish me luck.

About a month ago, I attended an event in Avalon Park that showcased local businesses and I met Andy, a Dance Instructor at Avalon Dance.
During our brief conversation, he let me know that the studio was offering to allow perspective students to take a number of classes to try out dance and see how they like it. I was definitely intrigued by this.
In the two weeks that followed, I sampled 2 Monday night and 2 Tuesday night classes where the introduction to several dances (tango, salsa, bachata, etc.) were covered by Andy. About half way through class Mark (Owner?) would arrive and assist through to the end. The second week just happened to coincide with the week of the evening dance party held at the Jazzercise Orlando Mills 50 Fitness Center and I was invited to attend.
Overall, the Instructors were great, welcoming and very personable. The other students were very open and welcoming. The classes and the dance party was a good experience. I will definitely go back and recommend that you give it a try if you’re curious about dancing.

Love this place… my girls have been going to this studio for four years and they absolutely love Ms.T. she is awesome person, teacher and entrepreneur.
The ballroom classes are great too took a salsa class there and it was great.

Our daughter is finishing her 2d year at Avalon Dance in a hip hop class with the owner, Ms. T, who is beyond fabulous! Her energy, love, and patience with the kids is very evident. She makes the class fun, high energy and friendly! Ms. T is a great Hip Hop dancer herself, and as a teacher she uses a step by step, encouraging approach. Some other studios in town teach a crass or vulgar hip hop dance style that turned us off, while Ms. T is all about pop music with swag and high energy… the parents love the music she plays too! lol Our daughter has some mild special needs and Ms. T has always made her feel welcomed and part of everything. Our daughter absolutely adores going to her hip hop class… we drive a long way and will continue doing so for Ms. T and Avalon Dance!

Avalon Dance does such an amazing job with my 3 year old. She loves it and each week is excited to return. The instructors have a lot of patience and make it exciting.

ZUMBA, ZUMBA! I’m so glad I decided to go to one of their Zumba classes. They are intenseeeee and I loved it. No two steps left and two steps right kind of crap. This is truly a workout with LOTS of dancing and booty shaking. Leslie is the instructor on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30pm to 9:30pm and she is phenomenal. She has great personality and a fantastic and contagious energy. You get so pumped at the class and be sure you’ll be sweating your butt off after the very first song. It’s $ 8 per class or you can buy a package of 10 classes for $ 60.

Great location with extremely patient and professional instructors. We have my 2 ½ year old enrolled in the creative movements class and I am a firm believer that the staff is in the running for sainthood as they are able to control a dozen little ones and get them to do some practical application of technique.
They offer classes for all ages, to include adults, ranging from traditional dance to jazz, tap, ballroom and several others. Each of the staff has a significant background in both music and dance and most are trained in several forms. Ms Jessica, who reigns in our little one, has a BS in Music and is now getting a masters in elementary ed God bless her.
