Everybody dreams of finding a great and honest mechanic. Look no further. If they tell you it needs to be fixed, it most definitely does. And they will also tell if it does not need fixing. I have also had them point out things that I need to pay attention to like your tire tread is getting low, need to look into that before the winter. I trust them. Not something you always hear about mechanics.

E&L is the best place to go if you need an honest and good mechanic. I have been taking my car here for years and have never been disappointed in their work. They also take care of my wife’s car as well as my daughter’s.

Vinny and Emilio have taken great care of my Toyota Tacoma. The truck has had some issues, as it has over 207,000 miles, and they have been able to diagnose and fix it thoroughly.
Nice guys and trustworthy.

Took my vehicle to them with a laundry list of things to be done, big and small. I left the car with them for a week to get it all done while I was out of town, and they delivered on time. I had assumed I would need to go to a different shop to get the body work done, but no. they have sister company, Tino’s, who will do the work while I was away as well. So I figured i’d have two separate bills, or have to pick it up at a different location, or… but no. One bill, all through E&L. Unfortunately, as soon as I arrived home after picking up the car, I couldn’t open the driver side door! So something they monkeyed with in the door had broken my ability to open it (or rather unlock it). I called them immediately and they actually sent someone to my home to fix it in my driveway because they were about to close. unheard of.
The only gripe I have is that one of the things I needed done would involve extensive labor and they refused to do it. They said if I couldn’t find someone to do it immediately, to bring it back to them in the fall when it’s slower. Is it because there are so few mechanics they need to free them up to service other customers and keep them coming back? Not sure, but now I’m looking for another place to handle this one last thing. But given the above comments, still not enough to make me reduce the rating. At least they were candid with me.

I’m a happy customer– I was expecting to pay much more than I did. I dropped my car off and requested it to be finished by a certain time, if possible, and they had it ready ahead of time. yay!

This was my second time here since beginning of 2015. I went first in March for a dead battery. Explained what had happened and over the phone was very helpful… mentioned the positive Unilocal reviews. Replaced the battery… heavy duty with labor… a very fair price with battery warranty. I was very pleased.
Made an appointment for today April 14, 2015 for oil change. I added a NYS inspection… I figured I would be waiting there till the job was done… brought enough to keep me busy for what I thought would be a long wait of 1.5 to 2 hours… WHOA!!! what a shock…45 minutes and everything was done! Vinnie shared with me that my car is in good shape…1998 Toyota… and to watch my front breaks by the time I need another oil change.
I am feeling awesome… Stress and worry for nothing (Too many past bad experiences here in Ossining with high price quotes and scary MUST BE DONE NOW items from pushing attendants)…Vinnie pulled my car out of the bay and drove my car ready to go… NOW HERE IS THE KEY TO QUALITY SERVICE… before I got into the car, Vinnie tells me… I noticed the hose for your window washer had fallen off… so I put it back on and filled the washer fluid… OK, I am SHOCKED… I had mentioned something back in March yet I was going to save this problem (over a year to resolved) maybe for May… This window washer problem took me to 3 different auto repair shops… no one could solve the problem… I shared the situation with Vinnie and he said come back if it happens again and we can find a way to tighten the hose. It has bugged me why this was turning out to be such a big problem and BAM finally received an honesty answer.
It is so hard to find a quality auto repair shop these days… add honesty and integrity to the list! Thanks to the other Unilocal reviews over a few years… ALL 5 stars and very consistent in their reviews. I just found my auto repair shop with no worries. Emilio even mentioned if I didn’t like the news channel on the TV in the waiting area. how to change the station… both Vinnie and Emilio are professional, will take time to chat with you… resolved my concerns and did not rape my bank account. Emilio is a true gentlemen! He’s always been polite and smiling, and LISTENS to you when you describe any issues with your car. Prices are fair, and he’s just an honest nice guy! I’ve never posted a review online, but will sign up just to praise him!

I had been looking for a garage to have my old toyota fixed for a while, someone told me about this garage and decided to give them a try. Not only were they efficient but did completed the job earlier then they said. I would recommend them to anyone who has an auto they want to hold on to. They were fair in price and explained everything that they had to fix. My car is running just like it did 19 years ago. Great garage, and great guys.

After being referred to E & L Automotive and receiving a horrendous quote from the dealer to fix my brakes I decided to pull the trigger and give them a try. BOY WAS I GLAD I DID. Emilio and his team are fantastic. You know they care about your car as much as if it was their own, or better yet, their child’s car. They fixed my car for a fraction of the quote from the dealer and also showed where some items the dealer had «fixed» was actually not done correctly.
I hope Emilio is immortal because I don’t want to ever have to leave the caring embrace of E & L Automotive! Do not hesitate, in any way, to make Emilio your regular mechanic.

I just move to Ossining and had no clue where to go fix my breaks. Unilocal reviews were good, and it was a really good place.
He fix it up right away. In 1 Hour I was all set and the cost was fair. Everyone very polite. Great service.

I have a 2004 Prius and after the warranty expired, I knew I wanted to leave the dealership, but I didn’t know where to go. Some friends referred me to Emilio when he was on S Highland Avenue and he’s been taking good care of me & my Prius ever since. That’s 8 years that I’m confident he’s keeping me safe and charging me fairly.
I’m writing the review because he went over the top the other day.
I got caught in that huge rain we had and going through a flooded area, it knocked my mud guard down & it was dragging on the ground. Emilio fixed it and also fixed another part of a different bumper that was sticking out in a funny way since I had backed into something years ago. That funny angle of the back bumper was bugging me for the longest time.
I’d asked others to fix it, but it never happened. Or they «fixed it» and then a day later it was sticking out again. Emilio told me he found a couple of screws & held it in place from the inside so I couldn’t see it. Viola! done.
On top of that, he wouldn’t let me pay him for those fixes, even though they had the car up on the lift for about an hour.
You better get over there.

There has been something I’ve wanted to say for a long time but was never able to before…“I have a mechanic”. Finally I have a mechanic, someone that I trust, that is fair and honest. I started using E&L a few years ago when I moved to Ossining when they were located on S. Highland. I didn’t really do anything major with them just inspections. Now that my car is getting older, it needed some work. Before I went to see E&L I looked up online on the approximate cost of my repairs just to get an idea. E&L actually came in about 100 $ less than what I thought for new brakes, inspection, and fixing my air conditioning. They do a great job and they are just really nice people. I can’t tell you how many automotive places I’ve gone into where I just was creeped out or they were rude or they would talk to me like I’m an idiot because I’m a woman.
Everyone at E&L always has taken the time to explain things to me and never makes me feel like an idiot when I don’t know what something is.
I’m so happy I found them and that they are so close by. I highly recommend E&L, they will do a great job.
