Can we talk? Popcorn is my favorite snack in the world. I like popcorn in any form– plain, buttered, cheesed, carmelled(don’t think that is a real word) just name it. I make a special trip to Topsy’s when I am in the neighborhood. Okay, so maybe I intentionally drive the loooong way around to «accidentally» run into Topsy’s. The popcorn is oh-so-good! I love the cheese popcorn. I even love having orange fingers after its gone. It’s a pleasant reminder of my yummy snack. I always get a small cheese popcorn and a regular popcorn from their popper. Buttered, of course. The staff is friendly and helpful. I always try to make pleasant conversation. I get worried because every time I have been in the store, there are no other customers. Please, please, please do not close down. I think they have been there for quite awhile so I am safe. PHEW! Okay– here is the downside to this wonderful popcorn wonderland. YIKES! I hate to say this but sometimes the store does not appear to be very clean. I know it IS clean but it is an old, vacuous store and needs some upgrades. If it were upgraded, better lighting installed it might not look so unclean. Second downside is the price. The popcorn is expensive. I know you have to sell a large amounts of popcorn to have a storefront but still pricey. I’ve wanted to buy a tin or two but I get serious sticker shock when I see the prices. Overall, great store and DELISH!

Had to try Topsy’s Popcorn … since it was highly recommended and I love popcorn. Great flavors … purchased the cheese flavor in addition to the caramel flavor. Pretty good … still prefer Garret’s in Chicago but I am a fan.

Popcorn is very good. Beware if they ask if you want«extra butter». Unless you enjoy a shot of butter after your finish your corn, it’s probably not advisable. I work nearby. I have a weakness for popcorn. They take care of me. Nice folks working there, too. Always friendly.

This popcorn is excellent. Large, fluffy, no kernels, no burnt taste. A tin with cinnamon, cheese, and caramel sets off the holidays. This place is a classic. Get the butter or get the mixed bag, you won’t be disappointed.

Alright, I admit it. No matter how healthy I try to be, eat organic and free range, I’ll always have this weakness for fake cheese. Maybe it was growing up on velveeta(remember the box?) or those ever popular tin cans of popcorn from the 80’s, but I LOVE the processed, manipulated cheese from machines. So there. So when visiting Topsy’s I just had to buy a bag of cheese popcorn(my two favorite food loves together in a bag). And it was delicious! It made my fingers and lips properly orange, and had just enough cheese without being too gross(which yes, it can be sometimes). The other great thing about Topsy’s was they sold pink popcorn! This was something I was introduced to by my friend in SF. It’s basically a block of popcorn hardened by pink sugar coating that allows it to keep its shape. Funky, but good. It might seem like an acquired, nostalgic thing, but it’s actually quite decent if you like sweet. So now you guys know what to get me for Christmas – skip out on the caramel and plain, and just give a tin of cheesy popcorn! Yum!
