I really wanted to love this place. But we were disappointed. The birthday cake vanilla cupcake had thick and hard frosting that was way too sweet and it tasted like funfetti cake mix in the box.
The cupcakes did not seem fresh at all. Probably since this area has gone so downhill (well the shopping center has)
Mehhhhh.

Im not sure how this place got 4 stars, I went there a few weeks ago and was very disappointed. First of all the selection they had was very minimal for being the middle of the day so I went with a simple red velvet cupcake and my friend got some peanut butter one which both tasted horrible. They were cold as if they’ve been in a fridge all day and tasted like the pre made cake batter and frosting you buy at the store (not sure why you would open a dessert place like this if you cant even make it taste home made) Definitely not going back there. Just going to assume the radio commercials for creating your own cupcake are to bring in customers due to lack of business… Sorry not sorry.

Was very excited to tryout this place, since I’d heard good things about it. Unfortunately, it was not the best experience.
It took them at least 10 minutes to realize we were there trying to order, when they finally did see us the lady wasn’t the most friendly. After getting our cupcakes (we got four) and sitting down outside, we saw there was hair in one of our cupcakes, technically two since the hair was a little intwined in the cupcake beside it. Took them up front to let them know, she replaced them both but didn’t seem to care whatsoever.
Maybe it was an off day for them, I’m not sure. But hair is just nasty.

Missy not only makes the best peanut buttercup cupcakes but she is very nice and helpful! My niece had previously visited Missy’s and insisted on taking me. I instantly fell in love with the adorable shop and it’s location near the marina. Since I am not a local, Missy was kind enough to give us the Channel Islands Harbor Directory and the California Welcome Center pamphlet for Oxnard. We explained to her that we were «out of towners» and she recommended a local farmer’s market and a few restaurants. It was refreshing to meet someone so professional, polite, genuine and helpful!

We got a dozen mini cupcakes of all different flavors, and there were all amazing!

Sadly I wasn’t pleased… I was excited to try their cupcakes since we don’t have local shops in Oxnard that bake fresh cupcakes besides our local grocery stores.
Service — was okay not bad and not amazing.
Freshness of the cupcake — the two cupcakes I got were probably a few days old, both cupcakes had hard frosting from being cold and the bread was dry not moist.
Overall concept of each flavor — They were okay… Dulce de Latte was too sweet and the peanut butter cup was not a good choice for me. I only took 2 bites of each and threw them away… a waste of my money :(
Pricing — This is not Sprinkles nor Sweet Arlenes which made me regret purchasing a full size vs the mini.
Would I recommend my friends here? No… I’d rather drive to Thousand Oaks and pick up some great cupcakes.

Missy’s cupcakes are out of this world!!! Not only are they beautiful, but they taste fantastic too! In fact, I believe that they are better than the cupcakes in Westlake Village, CA from Sprinkles and Sweet Arleen’s (winner of the Cupcake Wars on the Food Network a few years back)! Missy doesn’t skimp on quality either. She uses high quality ingredients in her decadent treats and believe me when I tell you that you can taste the difference! I love the lemon cheesecake flavor (it actually has a graham cracker crust at the bottom!) and the chocolate one with the chocolate truffle inside. You can’t go wrong with any of the cupcakes really. And the customer service is great as well!!!

Sweet, gourmet cupcakes with standard (chocolate, birthday cake, red velvet) and imaginative flavors like apple pie and pancakes n’ bacon. I tried the apple pie and peanut butter cup ones! Very good!

Dry Cupcakes, way too much frosting. I would give it another try but with such unfriendly service (not one smile or a simple thank you) I will take my sweet tooth else where!

Came by her store on Monday (a day they are actually closed) and I called and ask if she would open up for me to purchase a few cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday. Missy was happy to do it! I love all the different delicious flavors they offer.

My sister and I came in on June second. This day was the 23^rd anniversary of the day my son’s passing away. I was already not feeling well because, I had to go to the grave site. I want to let Missy know
that her warm smile and friendliness was the best. Most importantly I ordered two dozen mixed big ones and mini. The cupcakes are the best best best ever. Light and fluffy !!!

The birthday cake vanilla icing tastes like shortening. No butter to be found in that buttercream. The cake tasted like a box mix. I’m sad to say these taste like those awful cupcakes you would buy from a grocery store bakery.

The best cupcakes I’ve ever had! Both the cake and frosting are super light and fluffy! My sister and I had six mini cupcakes so we could try out a bunch of flavors! The snickerdoodle cupcake tastes like an actual snickerdoodle cookie, and is topped with half of a cookie! The peanut butter cup flavor is incredible and I ate all the frosting, which never happens! On our second trip here we tried another six minis. The stand out for us were the cookies and cream and the dulce de latte! I could go on and on with a detailed description of every flavor, but the review would be super long! Let’s suffice it to say my sister hates mint chocolate and she devoured her mint chocolate chip cupcake! Missy out does herself with her creations, and they’re all amazing! There isn’t one bad flavor. Also, the cupcakes in the case are chilled for eating later, but if you want to eat them immediately, Missy will get them fresh from the back and frost them right before you eat them! :) Back in Boston I had a favorite cupcake place, but these cupcakes blow that place out of the water! This is definitely a hidden gem! Delicious!

So dissapointed. Spent $ 18 on cupcakes that LOOKED incredible. Albeit aesthetic pleasing my tastebuds were not pleased. See my pix.

Delicious cupcakes, my family and I enjoyed the chocolate thunder, chocolate strawberry dip & chocolate birthday cake. We highly recommend it

So, so… I order two dozen (12 full size, 12 minis) for a birthday. Expensive! Order all flavors except the lemon drop and key lime coconut. I didn’t get to try all the flavors but heres the list of what I had tasted & heard from my guests.
1. Birthday cake in vanilla — plain old vanilla w/​good frosting, not worth the price.
2. apple pie — a hint of cinnamon and yummy apple pie filling. Thumbs up!
3. Strawberry Kisses — My favorite. Highly recommend. The strawberry filling is delicious. Thumbs up!
4. Black forest delight — Disappointed. Tasted like a plain old chocolate cupcake w/​fudge filling. I was looking forward to the cherry, tasted no cherry.
5. Pancakes N Bacon — another disappointment. Bacon did not taste real.
6. Chocolate Cheesecake — tasted the same as black forest.
7. Mint chip — gross, taste like chocolate toothpaste.
8. dulce de latte — delicious dulce de leche filling. Thumbs up!
9. peanut butter cup — taste like reeses pieces. Thumbs up!
10. Chocolate chocolate thunder — taste like whoppers malted milk balls. Thumbs up!
11. Snickerdoodle — it was good. I don’t know if I would buy it again.
12. Toffee — again good, but I don’t know if I would buy it again.
Overall, all cupcakes were moist. The frosting had a perfect sweetness to it. I would never again buy it in full size. There’s too much frosting. No one finished the frosting.
***Is it freshly baked? Nope. I asked how long it took her to bake all the cupcakes that morning (meaning: is it fresh?). Missy said all cupcakes are baked the night before since it’s impossible to bake it all in the morning. That’s understandable.
***Service? I rate it below average. I called and was put on hold for over 6 minutes. I hanged up and rushed there thinking she was busy. Also I didn’t want to miss my shot of trying her cupcakes. Turns out she was not busy, she was talking to a friend.
***Would I come back? Most likely for small catering (potlucks, etc.) because her cupcakes are beautiful/​presentable for special events. I heard lemon drop is good but she didn’t have it available that day. That would also be another reason to come back to try her famous lemon drop crunch.

This place does a great job with their cupcakes. Sometimes they don’t have my favorites available in the size I want, and the mint in the mint chocolate tastes like toothpaste to me, but all the other cupcakes I’ve had were fantastic.

Oh My Apple Pie! — Very pleasing flavor combination
Strawberry Kisses — Super favorite! White cake with strawberry inside and on top

Missy’s cupcakes are moist and have tons of frosting. If you’re like me and have a strong sweet tooth, you’ll like these. I can’t finish more than 2 in one sitting and even that leaves me a little ill. The only con here is I can’t eat more in one sitting. When I buy a big selection I sort of want to eat them all at once before they get at all dry, you know? These are so sweet just a little will do you.
Easy to share with a friend, just cut in half or even quarters and enjoy!

The best part of the cupcakes here would have to be the frosting. I’m not really a frosting kinda girl, but especially the cream cheese frosting… Was on point! Overall, the we just OK cupcakes: the red velvet was bland and dry and the snicker doodle was wayyyyy to sweet, I actually got a headache after my first bite. For $ 4.00 a cupcake seems a bit steep. I prefer my cupcakes on the moist end. with flavor.
The actual store has a great location, right in the Channel Islands pier. It’s almost like half boutique half bakery. They sell alot of random cupcakes items and girly things, plus actual beach food and ice cream. Glad I was finally able to try this place. But off to the next to find the perfect Red Velvet Cupcake…

There was a time in my life were I tried to hit up every cupcake joint to see who had the best cupcakes. This is when the cupcake craze was going around super tough. If there was a cupcake place people were talking crazy about, I tried to be there. We’ll guess what? No one is talking crazy about this place and these are by far the BEST cupcakes I’ve ever had and I’ve been to quite a few places. I put them in this order:
— Dreamy Creations. They were on cupcake wars (Northridge).
— Crave (Sherman Oaks)
— Bella Donnas (Canoga Park)
— La Crème Bakery (Woodland Hills)
— Nothing Bundt Cakes (Sherman Oaks)
— Sprinkles (Beverly Hills)
Missy’s kills all these places and I’d be willing to put something on it! I’ve turned a few people on to Missy’s and once they taste it they either give two reactions. Their eyes either roll back into their head and say OMG or they say there is too much frosting so they scrape some off and murder the cupcake while asking a million questions. These cupcakes are so moist and rich that it’s almost too good to be true and she adds fruit or some sort of filling in the middle that gives it that perfect touch. These are the ones I’ve tried and this is the order I like them in.
— Bacon Cupcake!!! (only on Sundays)
— Apple pie or cobbler (not sure)
— Strawberry Kiss
— Peanut Butter Cup
— Red Velvet
I still have plenty more to try like the Key Lime in Coconut, the Snickerdoodle and the Lemon Drop one which I’ll probably give a go next week. The regular cupcakes are $ 3 or $ 28 for a dozen and they also have mini ones for $ 1.65 or $ 15 a dozen. Definitely give this place a try and Missy if you read this, I think you can win cupcake wars!
