Puppy Paws

Recently visited and was unable to make a purchase since I was unable to hold or interact with the dog I wanted. The sales rep kept saying «don’t let them lick your hands» which I understood because they can get sick that way. And she wanted to know if that (dog) was the one I was going to purchase and only if I was going to she can take it out. Exactly how am I suppose to asses the dogs temperament by watching him sleep in a cage? Their stock was also very limited with many of the cages being empty. Staff is also very young and lack customer service skills. Will advise anyone looking for a forever pet to venture somewhere else if your looking for quality service and experience. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money at this establishment.

Do not buy your puppy from Puppy Paws!!! I got mine Oct 15 2015. I paid 1,600 for her.
First vet visit she had Ear Mites which the vet said she def got it from the puppy store. Second Vet visit she had parasites (giardia) which the vet said she also got from the puppy store. 3^rd visit she still has parasites even after we gave our dog the medication. So then I had to give her a liquid form of medication and her pool still looks bad !!! Mind you for everything that’s happened so far I have paid out of pocket !!! When the sales man at Puppy Paw told me my dog was up to date with shots and is completely healthy, Well that was a LIE BECAUSE THE VET TOLD ME puppies can not be fully vaccinated until after 5 and half months. So he lied that the dog was healthy which she wasnt. Today (12÷30÷15) I went to the Animal Emergency Hospital in elmhurst because she sounded like she was choking on something (I spent 93 dollars for them to tell me she seems okay). Doctor said it could be reverse sneezing or a kennel cough. So for my dogs fourth vet visit that is coming up for her 4^th vaccination I will def tell them about what happened to her today. I would never recommend anyone to puppy paws. Do not go here and give them business. I wish I could give no stars

Fantastic experience!!! From the moment I first spoke to Boris it was the best. I told him what I wanted and he delivered even better than expected. Once I came in to take home my puppy, Boris & Oscar were terrific. They took such good care of me. Any and everything we needed was taken cared of. Great personalities. I’m sending everyone here.

I got feedback from a Unilocaler that didn’t have a good experience with Puppy Paws. I’m hoping that Puppy Paws reads this and extends their assistance to the Unilocaler. Since getting my puppy from Puppy Paws, She is doing very well. I pray that the courtesy and attention that was given to us for Coco, is always extended to each customer at Puppy Paws.

I recently bought a chihuahua puppy at the extremely expensive price of $ 1300 i was promised a perfectly healthy dog with a clean bill of health i brought my puppy to my vet the very next day to find out that he has giardia which is common and treatable but when i called the shop to tell them the man on the phone was very nasty all i wanted to do was warn him since it is highly contagious but all i got was a attitude not even a apology. I just hope my puppy does not have any health issues down the line. I definitely wont be going back to this pet shop they are over priced and rude not to mention some of the other puppies didn’t look like they were in the best of shape.

If I could give this place no stars I would! I took my dog to get groomed here for the first time and what I thought would be great service turned into a nightmare! When I brought my dog in for grooming I specifically stated that I wanted a SANITARY cut for my dog which entails for slight trimming AND provided a picture for guidance! When returning to pick him up, the lady with red hair had completely butchered my dog! He had no hair left on his body making him look like a sick rescue dog! She cleary knew by the expression on my face that she did not properly execute his cut and stayed in the back while her coworkers tried to justify the poor job! NO ONE apologized and still had the audacity to make me pay full price on a job that I should’ve walked out on! They clearly do not know what they are doing in that place and I will NEVER return nor recommend this place to anyone for pet grooming! Not to mention that they are way over priced! **Stay away**

Amamzing atmosphere. The people in the store make you feel welcome, and they know there pets very well. One of the best pet store in Queens.

I checked the website and they had photos of 5 available French Bulldogs. I called to confirm that all of the puppies were available. The gentleman that answered the phone wanted to know when I would come to visit before I visited the store. When I said that I would come by today he said he dd not know how many French Bulldogs they had.

Was there today at the recommendation of a family friend who is also a veterinarian. These guys are great! Came her for a Maltese for my daughter. We worked with Oscar and Boris– they were the best– they were so helpful, answered all of our questions and showed us all of the required paperwork. We drove all the way from northern NJ and it was totally worth it.

About two years ago i bought my Shih Tzu «Oreo» from Puppy Paws from one of the managers named Nick. I was surprised at how little pressure he put on me to purchase him, unlike most sales associates usually do. Not only did Nick sell me the dog, but he is also Puppy Paws’ groomer. The first time i brought Oreo in for a grooming, i was really nervous because of how small he was, but there is a window that you can watch him groom the entire time. The entire place is very clean (I’m a bit of a germaphobe). I live in Brooklyn, and i travel to Ozone Park to have Nick, and ONLY Nick groom Oreo. He has Shih Tzu’s of his own, and is very very knowledgeable on the breed and always answers my questions no matter how silly. Before i bought Oreo, i went online to look up some reviews on the place (a good friend of mine recommend the place to me) and what i found was an article from the New York Times on Nick, the article was called «Helping his clients look best in show». There’s no way you could beat that. I’m always treated with kindness and respect every time i come in. I would recommend Puppy Paws to anyone who’s interested in either buying a dog and/​or for grooming. A+++++++++++

I took my cat Marilyn to get her first haircut. I was very nervous because Mary had been fussy and was hard to get in her carrying case. After a little struggle we got her in and headed to the place. As soon as we get there we were met by Boris. Nice young man who had pretty good knowledge of not only dogs but cats as well (he himself prefers cats over dogs). Boris takes Mary and him and the groomer get to work. In the meantime we are speaking with Willie who is also very knowledgeable of animals. He knew every dog and their tendencies in that store. He was informative and shared many stories and suggestions. These guys run a great business over there. I learned that if you are interested in a particular dog they will do their best to order for it for you (they even promise to either return it or sell it to someone else if you don’t like it). I highly recommend this service to anyone who is interested in grooming their pet.

Called and in approx 20 min the dog «sold out» and the attendants in the store seemed like they didn’t even have had that breed. I don’t advise to call if you are buying a puppy physically go an see. I personally will not return.

I walked into puppy paws to purchase a Maltese after doing some research on the breed. There wasn’t much variety as displayed on the website and I wasn’t sold on the two Maltese in stock. The staff was helpful in showing me other breeds but I decided to think about it for a week, there was a ShihPoo that was very active that I had my eye on.
When I returned the following week I had already decided to get the Shihpoo. However he wasn’t as active and showed discoloration in the eyes not to mention he was sniffling. I inquired about it and the manager told me it was the dust from the paper in the cage which was a lie I took him to the vet the very next day and my puppy ended up being on medication for two weeks. I was furious! He also said that the puppy doesn’t shed and wouldn’t grow more than 7−10lbs the reason I asked about size is because my apt only allows small dogs. 5months later my then 5lbs puppy is well over 15lbs and I am receiving complaints from my landlord. I was going to buy a puppy regardless but Instead of actually helping me purchase the puppy of my dreams they were more focused on making the sale and lied about everything. I would not refer this shop to anyone! I love my dog but For $ 1300 I could have went to another pet store and got the size I wanted.

I purchased 2 Pomeranians from this store in November 2013 I spent $ 2400 and I did receive free bowls and food and pads to start off. First off they are very expensive and they do get there initial shots but I spent $ 300 alone getting the rest of shots. One of my pups were very sick for a month. And they told me they were full breed yet they look very mixed and they said they would be small maybe ⁶⁄₇ pounds. One now is 12 and the other 15. They told me they ain’t shed and they really do a lot. They mislead you. and I’m very unhappy and disappointed especially investing that much money. And not getting what I expected.

The staff is truly wonderful here. They stayed open just for me. I called them stating that I needed something for my puppy and they were so kind and nice even when I arrived! Will definitely be coming back! Plus the puppies were so cute!

Bought my daughter’s puppy here… a beautiful teacup yorkie… Healthy and happy dog… got a good deal as I researched the prices online. Staff was great !!

Came here after getting lucky at the nearby casino and wanted to pick up a Christmas gift for a co-​workers dog. Got everything I needed at a great price, even got a holiday discount. The guy at the counter was very knowledgeable and helped me find the exact items I was looking for. My co-​worker said his prized pup loves the new toys! They also had some really cute dogs which I wanted to spontaneously purchase.

No better place than Puppy Paws!
Yes, there are adorable little pups that will make it difficult to walk out empty handed and empty hearted but that’s something you can find in many puppy shops. What makes this place different is how much the staff clearly LOVE their jobs and want to make sure their little puppy friends are given to happy homes.
They are so knowledgable and will help you with any questions you have, and if you’re a new puppy owner that’s a relief for sure!

My dad went there to find out about their Maltese. They gave a lot of helpful info but their prices are too high. $ 1200 for a pup that probably never received vet care or got their shots?! (If you want a pup there’s an animal shelter across the street HEAVENLY ANGELS ANIMAL RESCUE. There they receive shots, vet care, and are not nearly that expensive. Plus you get to save a life.)
UPDATE: thanks for wanting to help and caring about your customers :) but I just recently received a puppy somewhere else.
