Specialties
Offering an extensive wine list covering both Old and New World wine by the glass, bottle or flight (3 generous tastes). Craft-style beers, hard cider as well as non-alcoholic drinks (Pelligrino, ginger beer, hot tea).
We serve a light food menu including items that go well with wine like artisanal cheese, salami, nuts, and dessert — of course! New on the menu, Argentinian-style empanadas (baked, not fried) and a savory tart (galette) featuring Mor/Pacificai Jack Cheese.
There’s always something happening at A Grape in the Fog — we host over 20 events a month live music, stand-up comedy (first Thursday), quiz night (2nd and 4th Monday), wine tastings and more!
Come visit us at the beach — enjoy our outdoor patio. Dogs (on leash) welcome on the patio!
Please note that our liquor license (ABC 42) allows for customers over the age of 21, only. Thank you for your understanding.
History
Established in 2010.
Inspired by her great-aunt Mona’s 1940’s North Beach ‘Mona’s Club 440,’ and a love of bringing people together, Beth realized her dream of opening A Grape in the Fog in April 2010.
«From my early 20s I wanted to open a kind of place that would create community,» Beth says. «I was also inspired by my great aunt Mona Nystrom-Hood, who ran a wine and beer joint in North Beach in the 1930s and ‘40s. She was a bon vivant who lived life to the fullest, was beloved by the community, and loved her community back. I felt a calling to create a space that would both support and nurture the sense of community you feel in our small town – where you can get out of the house or away from work, meet with friends, relax and maybe try a new wine.»
