We researched many different pool plastering companies and Rainbow Pool seemed the best and had the most competitive bid. They were very helpful in fixing all the issues that our pool had in a very efficient way. Our pool looks amazing and is better than ever. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asked.

I can not express the gratitude my wife and I both have for Miguel and Rainbow pools. We are so happy with the quality of the work he has done, his honesty, and his consistent availability to us as his clients.
Three months ago it had been nearly 3 years since we were able to enjoy our back yard. It was depressing. We had an enormous circa 1950’s pool with an enormous crack in it and water bills to match. The pool took up most of our yard, and was very outdated. It had been repaired (badly) a couple of times to the point where it did not hold water and wound up looking like a giant hole with green water at the bottom.
We started getting bids 2 years ago. We met with many different pool companies, designers and a pool engineer. With each new contractor there were new words to describe how bad our pool was and what a difficult task it would be to ameliorate the situation. We heard all kinds of excuses why the pool could not be fixed. We were told it had to be completely demolished, then filled in and then a new pool would have to be excavated. We were told we should fill it in with fiberglass. We were set to start with one company, but on the day they were supposed to start, they didn’t show and then the contractor called a week later saying he didn’t «think it was a good idea, to renovate» and told us we should just fill it in and forget about having a pool.
We first met with Miguel in March. He came out to the house several times. He was very reassuring and professional. He explained that our pool was not as much of a disaster as we had been led to believe. He told us exactly what needed to be done, how much it would cost and how long it would take. He was spot on from every angle! He was even able to improve upon a previous design and made suggestions about how to best use the space in our yard. He also helped out with our hardscape and landscape. When one option for decking turned out to be way out of our price range, he was able to find a suitable alternative that was not only just as beautiful, but has saved us money in the long term and helped us conserve water.
Miguel was not the lowest bid we got, but he was definitely not the highest either. We wound up with a gorgeous yard that we spend most of our free time in. The process went by very quickly. The pool, now about ²⁄₃ the size it was, fits in our yard much better. It is reinforced (like a bomb shelter) and free standing, so we can enjoy it crack-​free for years to come. It is absolutely sparkling, with a french grey, pebble sheen plaster, and three spill-​way waterfalls. He also put in a Jacuzzi (something we weren’t even considering), and a Baja bench with a built in umbrella stand. At night the lights in the pool are so tranquil and they can even change colors. We have in-​ground cleaning system and cartridge sanitizers that make the pool virtually maintenance free. We do have a pool man, who anytime there has been any issue with the settings on the pool, has notified Miguel. Whenever we have had a question, Miguel has patiently answered or come over to check the system, which by the way, we have on remote in the house. We are just so happy with the result. There aren’t words… Thank you, Miguel!
P.S I truly do not understand how can Rainbow get bad reviews. This is a VERY professional company that gets the JOB DONE!!! Very TRUSTWORTHY…

I wanted to wait a month before i posted this. My Wife and I started looking for a pool guy to re plaster and upgrade the coping and tile back in April. We thought we did all the homework in interviewing pool companies and even looking at several pool jobs that were done by these competing companies. We made our choice, paid our small deposit and the job was off and running. After a small delay the old plaster was removed in a day. Thinking this was going great. It wasn’t to be, the wheels started falling off… With way to many things to list lets just say after 4 weeks and no end in sight we had a heart to heart with our pool guy. And Called him out. Either correct the complete mess that was made to our new pool and finish the pool as promised or we were going to fire him and go else where.
With in a few Days our contractor called in Mike from Rainbow pool and plaster. Mike took his time and listen to our concerns, We explained what had happen with the other crew that was there and what they had done and didn’t do. He Looked over the project and understood what we wanted, and could see how upset my wife was with how it had turned into a mess.
After a short talk with the other contractor, Mike was on board with his crew to resolve and correct the problem and concerns we had. We knew Mike was on other projects at the time he was called in. He explained he needed a few days to finish up those projects. We agreed.
All I can say Within a week, Mike and his crew were on the job, removing coping that was installed poorly, and re installing new coping to perfect. new tile, and new mini pebble plaster. After about 2 weeks we were filling the pool…
I cant say enough about Mike and his crew at Rainbow Pool and Plaster they came thru, and did what they promised and than some. We didn’t hire them at first, because frankly they weren’t on our list of contractor. But I did learn ONE thing. If and when you are shopping to either have a pool installed or remodeled like our selfs. Go with a company that is all in house, If your pool contractor needs to farm out everything to do your pool BEWARE do your homework. Perhaps give a look at Rainbow Pool and Plaster

We researched all of the available finishes and received quotes from 3 different Pool Plaster companies but went with Rainbow. and we are so glad that we did. From the very beginning Mike worked with us to make sure that we selected the best product for our needs (and budget) and that we reviewed the finishes, colors and textures. His crew was on time, very professional, kept the work area clean and came in under budget and ahead of time.
The 3-​M product that we chose and the trim tile make our pool look like a 5 star resort pool. We revealed the ‘new pool and Baja step’ to our family at a Big Pool Party yesterday (35 people) and everyone stayed until dark. when we turned on the new Tropical lights.
Rainbow Plaster Company and Mike have made this THE POOL of the neighborhood.

I hate to have to revise an excellent review, but it would be dishonest not to do so, and I don’t want to mislead anyone. Within a few weeks after having my pool replastered by Rainbow Pools, small dinghy grayish spots appeared all over the new plaster. Mike came out to look at them and sanded down a slippery spot on the step, but did nothing about the speckles. I got him on the phone a few months later, because the whole plaster job was turning dinghy and he said he’d come out and take a look. Never called back, never returned my calls. I gave Mike a year to step up and fix this. I hired a pool cleaning company, and the owner said it was poor quality plaster. I spent $ 4000 to have this work done, and it looks shabby. So no, I would not recommend Rainbow Pool plastering to anyone. They don’t stand behind their work.

Providing an expedient service our pool came out beautifully. They were very responsive to our inquiries, and provided a professional service.
They are a small family run business, with Mike doing the installs and Laura his sister doing the business end. We initially thought «cheap» looking at a gunite redo… but settled on mini-​pebble.
They drained the pool on Thursday. Is drained overnight — I was very concerned with the noise of whatever «compressor» they would be using… but it is an electric pump that is placed at the bottom of the pool — does not make any noise.
Friday they stripped the old surface, Monday they put up the new tile. Wednesday they installed the mini-​pebble, Thursday finished up with acid wash… So all told a week from demo to install.
Mike even came back on Friday to check the water hardness for the start up… I had my pool guy do the start up.
If you are concerned with how the mini-​pebble will look they provided us with a few examples of their work and we went and looked… very helpful. We settled on Tropics blue, not Tropical blue, or Tropics breeze or just Tropical…
I am very happy with the results, just wish it was warmer so I can jump in.
A great experience with Rainbow Pool and Plastering.

We were looking to re-​do our pool & spa. We wanted a company with their own in-​house plaster and tile crews and Rainbow Pool and Plaster had that. Their guys are professional and conscientious. Mid-​way through the job, we had a change in a choice of tile to a custom tile which they accommadated. Job was done within a couple days of their target completion. Pool & spa plaster and tile both turned out great. Mike & Laura were very responsive and nice to deal with.
This is the third time we have done a pool remodel and the best experience so far. We would definitely use them again.

I just finished having Rainbow Pool refinish my old plaster pool with a new mini-​pebble finish (Tahoe Blue). They could not have been more professional or more thorough.
How about this: they showed up when they said they would, they did the job in less than a week start to finish, the pool looks great and they did a thorough job of cleaning up after themselves.
This is a family business and it shows… a whole bunch of people working hard to deliver what they promise. I give them my highest recommendation.

They did poor job; had several leaks in the pool and spa. Not sure if their warranty means anything since they had attitude in fixing the leak.

We looked at many pool plastering companies and we are glad we went with Rainbow Pool Plastering. The communication throughout the process was fairly good and the work they did was very professional. The guys that came out were very helpful in answering our questions.
Picking the right mini pebble was a bit of challenge but we are happy with the way it turned out. Hopefully the upkeep won’t be too difficult and we (meaning our dog) will enjoy the new and improved pool.

I hired this company to repair a really mysterious leak in my spa because some of the people in my homeowners association had used them and liked them.
We ended up having them re-​tile the spa and our pool, because the price was just too good to resist. I can’t say enough good about their work. The salesperson gave us a better deal than the «legend in their own mind» contractors out here in Ventura County (You know the type? The owner shows up in his expensive SUV, but is never seen again, and… well – that’s not how these people operate.)
Anyway, the owner, Mike, was on the job immediately. He figured out why the spa leaked, and since the re-​do (last summer), the spa has never leaked again.
The re-​tile job is beautiful. I had it done last month, and I wish I could show a picture of it here, but I don’t know how.
