I’m only giving 1 star because I can’t give 0 or negative. I left work at 5:05 and it takes me 45 minutes to get there, so I called right as I left work and told them I was running a few minutes late, probably around 5, and if traffic is bad then around 10 minutes late at worst. The lady on the phone was extremely rude: she said«the doctor is wrapping up for the day»(then why does she have an appt scheduled for 5:45?) and the person on the phone said if I come later than my time then I would have to reschedule. I explained that I was only going to be probably 5 minutes late and that I’ve made this appt 2 months in advance since it was an evening appt so I’ve been waiting, and it might be hard for me to reschedule for another evening appt(I work full time). Then the person on the phone said«okay so if you’re later than 10 minutes late we can’t take you,» so I just said I will do my best and I got there actually only 3 minutes late, at 5:48pm exactly. When I got there the front desk lady didn’t have the same voice as the lady on the phone and she was really nice. Later I realized the phone voice matched the doctors voice. She gave me some new patient paperwork, which I did, and then waited about 10 minutes until the nurse practitioner called me in. The NP was very nice as well, obviously had skimmed my file and asked some follow up Qs, took my basic info. Then she mentioned I should undress so I could do the breast exam, and I asked her if that was it or if there was anything else, and she said thats it. I asked if I could jus go quickly to the restroom first, she said sure. As I was going across the hall to the restroom, a lady(who I later learned was the doctor) was nearby and started yelling — she said, very rudely, «if you could just go to the restroom after please… I have to leave and you were late.» I was totally shocked, more at her tone than her words, and so I said I only came a couple minutes late but sure and I went back into the office and undressed from waist up as I was under the impression it was only the breast exam. The doctor knocked and came in, and was extremely rude from the beginning. She didn’t introduce herself, she was obviously in a hurry, and I told her I didn’t know if I was going to get a Pap smear done because the NP didn’t say anything about that, hence me not being completely undressed. She told me(in a very rude tone as if she was talking to a stupid person), «well when people come to the gynecologist they usually get the breast exam and Pap smear done.» I replied saying«I would like to talk to a doctor first about what the Pap smear process entails, and get at least a little comfortable with someone before such an intrusive process. And I’m also not only looking for a gynecologist but for that person to be a primary doctor for me hence me coming to womancare. Also, I don’t even know your name yet…» She, in a very fake manner, took out her hand and said I’m the doctor nice to meet you. I replied nicely thinking maybe she got the hint. I told her she could do the breast exam and I’ll just wait for another appt to do the Pap smear. She did it and then she was obviously in a hurry and I said I had some other concerns I wanted to talk about as well. But if she’s busy I can come back and do it at the next appt. She had major attitude, sighed, and sat down and was like«okay what.» I was totally put off by her reaction but told her a couple general concerns, and she wasn’t listening clearly because she kept mixing up what I was telling her about wanting to get a vitamin D and thyroid test. I had to repeat myself 3 times before she got it. Then she started to leave and acted so rudely and rolled her eyes at me so I said it’s okay I’ll just come back and do everything at the next appt. As she was leaving I didn’t say anything, I ignored her bc I was mad and didn’t wanna be rude, so as she was leaving she waited for me to say something but when I didn’t she said in an extremely rude tone«well I TRIED to be helpful.» I said«I honestly don’t feel like you did.» And then she left and shut the door behind her. As soon as I came out, the NP told me she already informed the manager and the front desk lady and apologized for my experience. Im assuming she heard some of the conversation, and the front desk person and NP didn’t seem surprised when I requested a different doctor. They were nice and told me they’d have the manager call me. I made an appointment with another doctor but I’m reconsidering even continuing with this practice.

I saw Dr. Kasinak and would never deal with her again. To begin with, the nurse who took my medical history before I saw before I saw Dr. Kasinak told me that Dr. Kasinak would want me to have my cholesterol levels checked. I told her that I just had that done by my regular doctor and would not be interested. She told me to «be strong and firm» because the doctor would insist on it. That was the first red flag when I came to the practice. I saw the doctor for a specific problem, but she could not even locate it. I even pointed it out to her, but she was so unknowledgeable about it that she denied I had a problem instead of seeking out other resources or having another colleague look at me. As an adult and as ANY professional, it’s realistic to not know everything, but then it is up to you to communicate that and to research the problem. It is NOT acceptable to tell a patient that they are wrong and that they don’t exhibit symptoms, especially when it has to do with an infection! Thankfully a colleague of mine referred me to an educated OBGYN afterwards, who confirmed I had a problem and that it needed to be operated on ASAP. I was scheduled for surgery IMMEDIATELY. If Dr. Kasinak truly lived up to the«hype» of being compassionate and educated, my problem may not have had the chance to progress to the point where it got to by the time I was able to get my next appointment(an agonizing two-month span) to see another doctor. I would never, ever see Dr. Kasinak again. She seemed more concerned about obtaining money from me and my insurance company than helping me with a serious medical issue.
