BEWARE OF REBATE SCAM!!!
Ok, went there to get tires on my truck at the ntb Bloomingdale Il. On 11÷6÷15 it’s now 2÷1÷16. You know the buy 3 and the 4^th is free! So the work was good, but I submitted all the paperwork for the rebate, copy’s of all receipts and the rebate form, and received confirmation they received it. Then came the post card stating my $ 190 rebate submission was invalid do to me not submitting a valid sales receipt. With the retailers full name, address, store number, and invoice number. EVERYTHING WAS SENT IN!!! So I start googling ntb rebate scam, and find tons of people saying the same thing. I am going to call the rebate people, ntb corporate office, and an attorney to start a class action lawsuit!
So I called, they say they never received the invoice! Funny I put it in there. Called NTB corporate office, got the run around, was promised a call from a corporate manager! Never got a call back from corporate! Store manager called me, made a couple calls to rebate office, said I had to pick up another invoice, and mail it in. I explained I live 45 minutes from his store. He said he would send it in! Still waiting on rebate, conformation, call from corporate! They make promises to their customers, than screw you around till you get tired of the aggravation, or forget about it! This is a contract they put in place with customers, and they are breaching! They don’t care about their customers complaints from my personal experience, and from all the complaints I read on the Internet! Once they put the tires on, and get your cash, you are useless to them in my opinion!

I made an appointment for the NTB in Palatine for an oil change days in advance online and when i arrived for the service at the time of my appointment, I was told that it was a 3 hour wait. They take anyone that comes in with or without appointment, they don’t seem to care and obviously don’t honor appointments! Awful customer service. Who is willing to wait 3 hours for a simple oil change. I made an appointment and made a commitment to bring my car in for service and they do not keep their commitments. It’s a definite waste of time for oil changes, maybe they’re better for other car care services but I won’t be going there anyway. Cutting up my NTB credit card now and will never come here again.

This is really more of a corporate issue, but apparently if you make an oil change appointment on their web site, it makes an oil inspection appointment. Who even does that? People with money to waste, obviously. I was told this is a known issue, so be advised, call to make your appointment.
The staff is very nice, and called me about an hour before to make sure I wasn’t expecting an oil change, so at least they spared me that disappointment. But bad timing, lack of availability and a snow storm left me in a bind, so I was forced to go to Jiffy Lube — yuck.
Lesson learned: NTB is definitely not a drop in sort of place, plan accordingly.
Note: they do have a great oil change coupon online, but you have to make your appointment through the web site in order for them to honor it, so…

Overall they have been pretty good. I only had one problem one time that they have tried to make up for their mistake. They suggested a repair on my car and I accepted, but it really wasn’t the problem. Bad on their part and bad on mine for not questioning it. Otherwise, the quality of the service has been good and the manager Chris Lasota is always great to work with. Having hours on Sunday until 6 pm helps a lot with the busy schedules.

and this location was listed as an approved installer. When I called to tell them I was ordering the tires and wanted to get them installed, they tried to convince me to buy tires from them (which I expect and have no problem with). Once I got past that, the employee said that I shouldn’t have them delivered to the store because they have a lot of tires and they might get lost. I should have them shipped to my house and then bring them with me. He also said he couldn’t schedule an appointment, but I should drop it off for a few hours and they should be able get it done. Needless to say, I told him I will go elsewhere. I didn’t want anything special, but their process was so customer unfriendly that I can’t imagine ever considering them again.

Overpriced under-​trained and incompetent are just three words that come mind when i think about this place. Purchased a three year alignment package on an older German car. Brought it over one and they told me the tie rods are loose. So i take it home order whole front rebuild kit (bushings, bearings, the whole lot). Replace everything, and coat everything with anti seize. They get the car on the alignment rack spend one hour doing nothing (i watched) then come up to me and tell me the car is to old and everything is seized. I ask for a manager make a scene and they finally go look at the car, with me leading and pointing everything out. They tell me that they’ll do the alignment. 2 hours later it gets done! They are lucky that there aren’t many alignment shops around, otherwise they’d be out of business.

It saddens me to see all of these negative reviews as I have been present in the store while some of these people came in. I can not tell you how rude many of the customers are to the staff. The manager Chris is always light hearted and professional until someone is rude to him or his staff. They run a great business here and I refuse to take my car anywhere else.
I work in the automotive repair industry for a vendor and it brings me into many car shops. This place takes the cake for cleanliness, care, and professionalism.
It is located on a busy corner and is usually booked solid on appointments so do not be surprised if it takes a while for your service. Be a responsible adult and PLAN AHEAD for things in life knowing something might take longer than you expected instead of being rude to the staff.
I hate to say it, but I have seen some of my customers blatantly rip off their customers and I can assure you that manager Chris will give you his most educated opinion on your car repair at the best price he can possibly afford to give.

Omg could they possibly go any slower my car is on the ground but yet hasn’t left the service area. I’m about to go grab my own car I’ve paid for 4 tires and service charge for it to take longer than the hour promised never coming back and letting everyone know not to come here unless they have hours and hours to sit and wait for the service guys to take their time on ur car. And telling you you need random parts at the last second. Pretty sure you could tell I need a new nut for a tire the second you took it off in the first place. Here’s an idea keep extra parts for cars so you have them and so you don’t have to make a customer wait til a part is delivered. And best part I had to ask what was going on you would think they would come in and tell me what was going once worst customer service

Wery poor service. I came for scheduled oil appointment on time and was promised that service will be don in 1 hour. But one hour later my car still was on the parking lot. They did not even started. The shop was almost empty inside. Looks like they don’t want to do any work at all. Very lazy service.

My family and I were heading back from Wisconsin when we got a nail in our tire at 445 on Sunday evening. Our first place we found was Firestone but they wouldn’t repair it bc they wanted to go home. NTB said no problem. They found the nail and patched the tire and then rotated all 4 tires for no extra charge. The guys here we super friendly and help make sure we made it home safe.

clean, friendly, BUT what I needed were just two new tires, I didnt even ask the price. TInformed them I did not have a wrench for the locked lug nuts. They told me it would be no problem. BUT It would cost $ 30.00 per tire to remove them.(this is a tire shop and they dont have the tool for a prius?) I questioned 120.00 for the cost to remove 4 tires (they have to remove all 4 because they will not place new tires on the front as I needed) the respose is we have to pay the guys something. (Thats a big hourly rate plus the instalation plus the tires and all those strange fees. The final insult was there were no customers, no work being done and the shop was empty!

I made an appointment here only to wait 15 minutes and walk out on them.
When I walked in there was one person ahead of me, that person was helped. The guy behind the counter asked me to give him a minute, which is fine.
However he proceeded to answer the phone and help that customer. Which was still «ok» but he then hung up and helped the person behind me!
He looked right past me, rudely greeted the guest behind me. He literally said «yeah joe» not hello, not can I help you, just yeah.
1. Don’t be in the customer service business if you don’t know how to do it.
2. Don’t take appointments if you can’t manage the work you have already.
I’m not one to just leave an establishment, but that’s what I did. I walked out as he was helping the person behind me.
They are rude, unprofessional and I took my business somewhere else. I will not be back.

This review is a bit overdue. I visited the NTB in Palatine in May 2014 for an oil change and new bearings. I had made an appointment, but was told it would be a long wait because someone else with an appointment had just showed up. They didn’t mention that the other person’s appointment wasn’t supposed to be until 3 hours later. I think that’s incredibly poor business to put them in front of someone who comes at their scheduled time.
My other issue has to do with their recommended repairs. During their inspection, they said they noticed my tire tread was very low and I would need new tires, shocks, and struts. I told them it would need to be done for free since I had gotten all 3 of those replaced in Oct 2013 at another NTB. All of the sudden I apparently didn’t need those repairs and I was good to go but might «want to have the tires realigned» at the location where I purchased them. I felt that they were being dishonest and deceptive. The work they did perform was adequate but the wait time was awful. I will not be returning. I have had much better experiences at the Deerfield NTB.

I came in for a new battery and an oil change. I found the customer service to be poor, bordering on rude, and they try to upsell you on everything. They try to convince you your car is falling apart and that you need a ton of work you likely don’t need. In my case they told me to replace something I had just gotten replaced at another shop a few months ago so they were blatantly lying to me. I was never asked what type of battery I wanted, they chose for me, which I found to be strange.
If you bring your car here you are a fool. This place is the definition of the sleazy mechanic your parents always warned you about. Avoid at all costs.

Over the weekend, I went into the palatine store on 2 separate occasions and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced in Palatine.
On Saturday 10÷4÷2014 after work around 5:45pm, I come into the store with my 2 small children. There were 2 counters occupied with one person at each counter being serviced. I was pleasantly surprised that I would not have to wait long. I waited until my turn was up then the right counter become available. Once I got to the counter, I greeted the gentleman and I explained I had a nail in my tire and if they could look at it for me. He stated that he would if I could leave my car there and come back tomorrow. I wasn’t going to push it because it was obvious that he did not want to help me. He didn’t take any information, didn’t look at my car to see the extent of the damaged tire, nothing. I just left and thought that was the rudest encounter I ever experienced and I would not go back.
The next day, Sunday, my boyfriend came up from Chicago to help me. We found ourselves at Firestone because it was also close to the house. Firestone take the time to look at my tire assessed that it needed a new tire. However they did not have them in stock. He recommended that we go to NTB because they may have the tire that we were looking for.
While we at Firestone, my boyfriend recommended that I call NTB first to see if they had the tire. When I called the gentleman on the other end answered and ask what can I help you with? Then rebutted and asked if he could place me on hold. I told him that I would prefer not to and if there was anyone else, a manager or someone else I could speak with and quickly said no and if I wanted a quicker response to just come over because I maybe on hold for a while and just placed me on hold.
Now by this time, I had already told my boyfriend how rude NTB was the previous day and I did not want to go back there. He just said «If they’re going to be rude let them be rude as long as we get your tire fix.» So I hung up after being on hold for 3 minutes and just went over there.
We walk in at 11:24am. There were 2 other people ahead of us with only one counter open on this day. It was 11:49 when we got up to the counter. Once we did the gentlemen had us waiting there an additional 5 minutes before he even acknowledged our concern. The gentleman at Firestone took the time to write down the tire size of my tire and I handed it the service tech and told him we needed a tire in this size and did they have it in stock? He quickly said no and that he saw our car in the parking lot. Then my boyfriend asked him if there were any other tire dealer that he knew of that sold the tire/​He shook his head no and said sorry. The whole time he didn’t look at us or looked passes us.
Suppose I did leave my car there over night, I would’ve been highly upset to find out that my tire was unavailable/​not in stock and I would have to drive it home like that. Tech (1) didn’t even look at my tire to see if it was a safety hazard for my girls and I. Tech (2) just had no customer service, sales, or interpersonal skills. If I were the tech, I would perhaps offered a different tire that may suite my need or even check to see if it was safe to drive on. Being in the service industry myself for almost over 13 years, I am appalled at the lack care and consideration that slapped us with. One can only imagine how money they are missing out because of this. Better yet, what people say when they get rude service like I did from these two. I am pretty disappointed.

First things first, being able to book my oil change online was a huge plus, pretty much the reason I decided to try this place. Was greeted by someone as soon as I walked in, very friendly from the start. Being my 1^st time here, I booked the basic oil change, wanting to see if they would try to sell up. Well they didn’t try to sell me up on a higher priced oil change but after they came back with the inspection, they did say that they recommend a whole bunch of work on my front end…
I only have two down faults from my first experience here. My truck had oil hand marks on the driver side door from the mechanic and I was there from 5:15 till 6:35…I’m hoping that’s just because that was my first time there and they did a full inspection.

Last winter I took my truck to the NTB, Palatine for an alignment and tire rotation.
My 4 wheel drive truck has manual locking hubs in the front which needs to be open view to allow the driver to manually lock and unlock the 4 wheel drive setting. The rear tires have covers which can only be removed by taking the tires off.
Fast forward a few days when there was sufficient snow I get out of my truck to turn the manual 4 wheel drive to lock position when I realized the dumb azz NTB tire mechanic put the covers from the rear to the front of tire which completely covered the 4 wheel drive mechanism. Haha.
When I took the truck back in, they admitted fault and the manager doing his best sales technique recommended I get new rims as they were pulling each wheel off to change the covers back to the rear tires. I denied the sales pitch as I just wanted for them to resolve their earlier error and get the hell out of dodge.
Few days later on suspicion as I was checking and refilling air in my tires at the local gas station I started to hand turn inspect the wheel lugs to ensure they were tight. Turned out NTB had one lug completely loose that I was able to easily hand turn it. These guys probably did this to ensure quicker wear and tear damage to my rims so I had no choice but to buy new rims.
Absolute con job organization, never will go here again and based off others experience with NTB via Unilocal,it’s obvious I am not the only one they tried to con.

This place is every car owner’s nightmare. You walk in with one problem, and they tell you there are five more that absolutely need to be fixed. What’s more? They start working on these problems before you consent to have the work done on your car.
Calling other local places like Just Tires, NTB’s prices aren’t comparable either — they quoted us more than $ 400 more than other shops! Also, they make you wait forever. Brakes and shocks and struts took more than a full day, and a simple tire leak took more than three hours to fix. Like, are you kidding me? They also don’t return phone calls with questions and time updates.
I normally don’t like to review places after just one experience, but NTB’s lack of customer service and jacked up prices have been an issue that’s been a long time coming. Now, $ 2000 and three days later, I’ve had the experience that has pushed me over the edge. I will definitely be going elsewhere for future car problems.

Never going back there again. Took 2 and a half hours for them to diagnose the problem with my car (bad rims on two of my tires), the manager Chris was not professional and inappropriate, and when he told me that he would take ten dollars off my bill for the extremely long wait time, when I came back to get my car that discount was never applied. I inquired about it and they said I would have to talk to Chris later about it since he wasn’t there when I picked my car up, but I just wanted to get the heck out of there. They can have the ten bucks, they will never service my car or me again. Wish I could give zero stars.

I’ve been here twice — once for a battery about 5 months ago — that process was pretty painless.
Recently, I had a flat and decided to take it to NTB to get taken care of. I already had the donut on the car, so my objective was to pull in, have them look at the flat — tell me what I needed to do, replace it and scoot. The objective was accomplished, however they also decided to open up the hood (for a flat tire on the rear passenger side?) and check out and see if I needed anything else.
The way I see it is, that if you don’t need to look under the hood, stay out of there, especially on my time. I was there about an hour and forty five minutes, of which about 45 minutes was relevant to the tire. The place would’ve received higher marks from me if they didn’t waste my time trying to upsell.
