Palantine Gurudwara

One of the most beautiful guru ghars in the midwest. I love this place. I always hoped to have my wedding here. It is a beautiful space. This gurudwara was great but its really become politically overcharged. Be prepared to hear pointless rants and speeches for any and every event. You can’t go there without the bhaiji going into his personal agenda. They really need to go back to the good old days where the focus was the bani and not someone’s personal agenda. I was there for a wedding today and there was 1.5 hours of extra rants before and after the lanhva. I decided to cancel my wedding booking after witnessing the derailment of the ceremony. Regardless of the political aura the place is beautiful and always remain surreal.

Its pretty big compared to downtown gurudwara. When I visited some new construction was going on. Built in 1972. I feel less people visits this one coz when I visited it was Friday evening and not much turned out. It was summer do not why.

This used to be my staple place for prayer usually on Sunday mornings. It is one of the biggest Gurudwaras located in and around Chicago.
The architecture of this Gurudwara Sahib really excites me. The layout of the place is very well designed. The main prayer hall is on the second floor and the langar hall (dining area) is on the first floor. They have a huge dining hall and prayer hall. It is nestled close to mother nature and has a water pond right behind the langar hall which gives a very beautiful background to Gurudwara Sahib.
As usual during mornings and evenings there are special kirtan darbars (prayer sessions) held. People from all faiths and religions are welcomed to come here and pray. They always serve some really nice langar (free food) as per the principles of community kitchen in Sikhism.
