Abracadabra Garage Door

I have always used Abracadabra for all my garage door repairs for the last 16 years and very happy with service. Today the guy who showed up claimed to be the owner (his shirt said Albert). He was rude when I questioned why this repair was almost twice the cost of other similar repairs. He called me a bitch, used the F word more than once, screamed at me that I was a wierdo and did I question the price of a gallon of milk too? He was condescending, inappropriate then refused to fix my door and told me to find someone else. He flipped me off as he was yelling at me for all my neighbors to hear then drove away. I have never been treated so badly by a business. I called A to Z Garage door repair who immediately came out and did the job for almost half the price. He said he has heard other similar stories about Albert at Abracadabra the most recent from an experience the day before where the customer described the same type of abusive rude behavior. STAY AWAY. Use someone else who will appreciate the business and treat you with respect. He deserves less than one star. A to Z gets 10 stars.

Albert came out and replaced our garage door motor shortly after calling him. He installed a LiftMaster opener and a keyless entry pad. He was friendly, professional and seem to do a good job. 2 days later the garage door started making a strange noise when it went up and down. This was Friday so I waited until Monday to give him a call to come look at it. His answer was «I can’t come out every time someones garage door makes a noise». I explained that he just put in the opener and I think the noise is coming from that. He said «if it breaks, I will fix it but I’m not going to look at it». We waited a couple more days and my husband thought he would give it a try. He received the same rude answer I did. The rudeness was beyond belief. He was very nice as long as he was selling something, but don’t expect him to come back if there is a problem.

These folks are genuinely professional and responsive.
We called and Albert came out and fixed our opener and later came quickly to replace the racks the rollers move on.
Not part of what we expected, he also replaced the small signal fixtures on each side of the door and when testing out our remotes, he replaced our batteries!!!
Just super!

OMG! Agree with others that this is your WORST OPTION IN CATEGORY. Called on a Friday late morning w gear disengagement problem on NEW opener that they installed. Described to receptionist, who said would have Albert call. NO CALL & door broken all weekend. Monday he came, but wouldn’t try to solve by phone. Came, pushed remote long enough for door to re-​engage: 2 minutes. $ 85 & not a peep of sorry for the fee.

Less than zero stars, you have been warned! Albert the owner should NOT be in business, he is unprofessional, incompetent, and the only thing he knows how to do well… is hang up on you. Albert did not leave my garage door within the HOA guidelines as agreed. Albert claimed the door would match the other doors within the country club. That has not turned out to be the case, and Abracadabra took advantage of the fact that the owner was absent during installation.

I give them ZERO ZERO ZERO stars. The owner Albert is a COMPLETE jerk and hung up the phone on me after he said he had a hard time getting through my «gated community» and left me a message on my cell (I was on the other line). He left me a rude message, I called back very politely (because I could tell he was irritated) only to have him HANG up the phone on me and say «call someone who cares». By the way, this was a service call back because their shoddy workmanship from 3 weeks prior needed fixing. The new garage door opener make s a horrible noise and I was simply asking them to come back and lubricate it or something. SOOOOOO rude. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE.

Had a problem with the garage door. Called them after hours and got called first thing in the morning. They said they would be out between 10 and 12. While I was waiting for the repair man to arrive I googled the company and saw all of the negative reviews.
Well at 1045 the phone rings and the guy says he is there to fix the problem. Quick and simple he fixed the problem. I then noticed on his truck that his name Albert was on the door. I asked «are you the owner?»
He replied yes. After which I told him I had seen the bad reviews on Unilocal.He simply rolled his eyes and said welcome to the service industry.
Well I strongly recommend this company!!!
They delivered promptly and reasonably!

A number of years ago, I called these guys out and wish I would have checked other’s reviews prior to doing so. They told me they couldn’t come until the following day. I had to stay home from work to wait for their mid morning arrival (11:45am). Basically, they told me that the motor on my 4 yr old unit was fried and needed to be replaced. (due to a power surge) My hands were tied because I needed to secure the garage and couldn’t stay home from work for another day. The Genie product they could install was inferior to the Lift Master unit I had in every way. He told me that the unit I was replacing was a piece of sh*t but despite the smugness of the tech, I decided to have him install the new unit.

If I could give zero stars I would. The owner actually yelled at me instead of coming out to fix the «repair» he did earlier the previous week. I use the word repair loosely as the door still doesn’t work. Save your money, time and frustration and call someone else.

I continue my enthusiastic support for this company. Power to garage door failed because of loose plug and they answered immediately and took charge of the problem over the telephone! Can’t ask for better and more competent service.

I had a minor issue with my garage door — knocked the bottom weather stripping off. I chose Abracadabra because they had an east Coachella Valley contact number. A technician answered the phone directly and said he could come out late in the day. He arrived within the two-​hour window he set, replaced the weather stripping, and even took time to lubricate the hinges on the door. I was pleased with their service and would use them again.

These guys are not the only game in town when it comes to garage doors, so their rude attitude the last two times we have dealt with them puts them in last place. The guy I spoke to hung up on me! What a bunch of shit-​fuckers!
Skip right on past this outfit.

When these people serviced my garage door, the same night it was obvious they had not fixed it. Called the next day and was told another service call and fee would be charged.
There are lots of honest businesses in the desert. Those that treat customers like this don’t normally last long.
