Desert Decocrete

I couldn’t be happier with the work this company did for us – which involved resurfacing our pool deck and patio and our driveway/​sidewalk. It was the lowest estimate we received and Scott was very easy to deal with and very responsive to emails (my preferred communication channel). The team that did the work, led by Raul, was terrific despite some obstacles. First, after we set the dates, another contractor we had hired to paint the exterior of our house also wanted to work at the same time. Scott said it wouldn’t be a problem, and Raul and his team were great at coordinating with the painter so everyone could work. Then it rained two or three of the days they were here (not something we generally face in the desert), so they had to stop work and even re-​do some of the work they had done when it was ruined by the rain. Throughout, the team members were unfailingly polite and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Two stars just for coming out for the estimate, that’s it! So one of their reps came out to give me a estimate on some pool deck repair, took measurements and said I’ll be contacted in a few days with a price. 5 days went by nothing, called the rep back, he said he’ll look into it and get back. Finally get the estimate, price seemed fair for the job, I was actually ready to give them the job, I just had a few questions to ask though, I called the owner, went directly to v-​mail, which was full, I texted him and e-​mailed him, never heard back, no reply. Business must be good! Not very professional, I’ll go with someone else.

Had the owner out to give us a quote and his expert advice on redoing our pool decking and entrance way. Seemed like all went well and he understood what we wanted and had a project he wanted me to see the following week as it was somewhat in his opinion what we were looking for. That was it and never heard from him again. Rude and unprofessional in my opinion even if he was busy not to get back to us. That said to me it says how he works and how he would back up his work if there were a problem. Based on my experience here I certainly wouldn’t even consider using him. Not there’s another review here with a similar problem which which supports my thoughts on Desert Concrete.

We contacted Scott to polish concrete floors in a classic mid century vacation home in Palm Springs. His quote was fair and thorough and the communication from contact to finish was exceptional. The end result was exactly what we had wanted. I should also mention all this was coordinated from 600 miles away. While we never got the chance to meet Scott and his team, I would not hesitate to recommend his services.

Scott, Marvin and their crew did our entire house in finished ardyx concrete and they came out amazing. Besides being considerably less than their competitors, they did the job thoroughly on my schedule and time. We couldn’t be happier with the whole process and end result.

So, we called this company and left a message last week to see about a quote to have our «free on site evaluation» (as posted on website) regarding our patio being stained. They got back to us with a text message. Not really a big deal right? They said they were booked which is fine, in fact, good for them. What this individual said next is classic. This person said that they have a minimum of 500 sq ft. Okay, I guess? So we inquired to this individual why they don’t have that posted on their website and the reply was «not sure.» Our reply was that we would report our terrible customer service review on Unilocal.This individual through a text mind you, proceeded to call us a psycho and an asshole just because we wanted to ascertain about the 500 sq ft minimum. Yikes! Somebody from this company got a little defensive. Even if someone was really a psycho, or asshole, would you text that to someone? This person is probably a rogue employee that hasn’t had proper training in customer service. Those text messages to us could never come from ownership/​management. Oh, and another text was «Obviously you know we are the best in town.» «we are booked up for months» Again, yikes! Hopefully ownership/​management can find out who this person is and teach them a little tact/​customer service 101.

Workers were fast, courteous and required no supervision. The job was time on time and to our satisfaction! We recommend Desert Decocrete! We had other quotes that were much higher so needless to say, we are pleased! Great job!

I had one of the big advertised companys do my first job and didn’t realize how much i wound up spending. Probably for all those full page ads. Anyway, for the last job and the current one (since i was so pleased with the workmanship and pricing deal) I picked Scott and his team once again.
He worked with me on timing, pricing and design so everything fell within my budget.
The prep work was detailed and the overlay was meticulous. AND it came in under bid!!!
How can you beat that. Highly recommended and, yes, sometimes it is a bit difficult to get hold of him… but, then he does have a life outside of the business.

Late last year, my wife and I decided we needed to resurface our pool deck in our Palm Springs home. After speaking with several vendors, I chose Scott and his team for several reasons. First I found his low-​key, easy going style to be a major plus. We had several phone conversations before we agreed to move forward, and he was consistently patient with my questions about pricing, which product to choose, etc. He probably could have convinced me to buy the more expensive product (which still would have been cheaper than his nearest competitor), but in fact, he agreed with my choice to go with a less expensive option. The results were outstanding, the work was done as promised, on-​time, and I could not be more pleased. Choosing a vendor can be a difficult process, but Scott made it much easier, and restored (to some degree) my belief that there are honest folks who aren’t just interested in taking your money. I would (and will) hire Desert Decocrete again. Highly recommended!

Called and set up an appt. With Scott. Come the morning of the appt., He DOES NOT Show. I went through this,“unreliability”, with contractors while renovating my home recently. I’m not going to do it again. Tried calling his cell phone, and Surprise, his cell phone went to Voicemail. This shows poor work ethic and business sense. I am very disappointed. I will keep looking elsewhere.

What a beautiful job they did on my concrete floors! Their professional expertise was invaluable in knowing exactly what I wanted (without ever meeting in person). The price was very reasonable, even with my unusual request of wanting to include the shower walls & floor ! My house now looks like a modern luxury home. I would most definately recommend Desert Decorate to any prospective clients.

A couple years ago I had my pool deck refinished and the stamped concrete entry to the front door painted by a local concrete contractor. I spent several thousand dollars, and was initially very pleased with the results. A year later the paint on my entry started peeling, and the pool deck became discolored from the sprinkler spray, pool water, and rain. I expected both to last at least 5 – 10 years, and felt like I had been swindled. I saw the excellent Unilocal reviews for Desert Decocrete and one Saturday morning I emailed a picture of the peeling paint at the front entry to them. I was surprised to get a prompt response from the owner Scott Weber. A couple days later he inspected the concrete and determined that the original contractor failed to properly seal both the entry and the pool deck. Scott sent me a written proposal to repaint and properly seal the damaged areas that was very reasonably priced. I hired Desert Decocrete to make the repairs and the results were fantastic! It was immediately obvious that the concrete was properly sealed, and that I wouldn’t experience a repeat of the disappointing results from the last concrete contractor. Since this is my vacation home, I wasn’t able to meet Scott at the property to oversee the work. He was very accommodating, and emailed me photos of the progress so that I could see the results. Desert Decocrete also accepts payment by Paypal which was very convenient. I was especially impressed with Scott’s responsiveness. He responded to my emails within minutes at all times of the day and night, and provided detailed responses to my numerous inquiries. His pride of workmanship and excellent customer service makes it very easy to recommend his services. My pool deck and entry look fantastic several weeks later and I’m so glad that I called Desert Decocrete!
