History

Established in 1962.

It all started in the mid 1960’s as an outcropping of our real estate office here in Palm Desert (which was one of the first motels in Palm Desert!) We dealt mostly in land acquisition, and our customers needed maps to find their land. So we started with an inventory of U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps and a new business was born!

Slowly, inventory was added to the shop, which consisted of road maps, hiking and recreation maps, international travel maps; books on the Coachella Valley, California and the West, nature guides, earth sciences, life sciences, and much more.

And we’ve been in the same location for over 40 years!
