Ramona Tire has terrible service, shoddy work and dishonest salesmen.
They lost the bolts for my engine cover last oil change. I brought the car in after for oil leak. Quoted $ 600 more than my mechanic. Also, they never replaced bolts, they used zip ties.
Front desk and management is different every few months. No loyalty, consistency or honesty.

I had a great experience here at Ramona Tire. Dan explained everything they were doing and exactly what would happen. I had been putting off a number of services that I knew I needed and all of it was done in a timely manner — and I was a walk in! Because mine took a little time Dan had one of his crew drive me to lunch and then to where I was staying. After they were done they came to pick me up. That’s a pretty valuable service for me. The office waiting room was clean and tidy and the whole crew was friendly. The services are warranteed which makes a difference to me when I go home to Washington State! I would definitely recommend them and I would go back.

My experience with Ramona Tire was quick and painless.
I stopped in Palm Desert to get gas, and as I was leaving the gas station my oil pressure light came on. I was still at the gas station so I stopped and went back inside for a quart of oil. This was the last leg of a 6000ish mile road trip, and I was really hoping to make it back to Long Beach that night, so I was hoping topping up the oil would solve the problem. It didn’t. Oil level was good, light was still on, so I’ve used up all my solutions. I need a mechanic, but it’s 7 PM and I can’t find a shop that’s open. I decide against driving the rest of the way to Long Beach and pay for a hotel in lieu of a potentially expensive replacement of my engine if something is really wrong with my oil situation.
In the morning I take the car to Ramona Tire, and Phil looks after me right away. He takes down all my pertinent information and tells me to sit tight while one of his guys inspects the vehicle. I hang out in the shop, have some coffee and wait for the news. Phil calls me over and tells me that there’s nothing wrong with my car. I haven’t had my oil changed since I started my 6000 mile journey and evidently the car’s computer just complains after a certain number of miles without an oil change, which is my opinion is super inconvenient. Phil doesn’t charge me anything for the inspection or peace of mind it affords me and I continue safely back to Long Beach.
I can’t comment on the quality of their work, as I didn’t actually require any but the customer service is top notch!

These people are nice, and the shop is clean, I used to go there because it’s down the street. HOWEVER everything always costed WAY more than I expected — they would always tell me I had more and more things wrong with my car and I always stressed out and just paid it. The last time I went, they quoted me a very high price, and I did NOT have them do the work. I took it elsewhere and it was less than half the price. If you have tons of money to spend on things that you don’t really need this place is fine. Upselling is understandable but it should be presented as something optional you should consider, not as something that must be done right now for your car to run.

Went in to get a rim replaced and steering column worked on. ($ 300 job)
Was told that the tire knuckle was out too. (totaling about $ 922)
Took pics and got a second opinion. Dad owns a shop himself and couldn’t see anything wrong. Second opinion didn’t see anything wrong with the knuckle either.
Dishonest sales techniques. Sent a more in depth comment to the mother company.

Dropped off my vehicle for oil & filter change as well as a tire rotation. The place was incredibly clean and the service was done in two hours (I was a walk in with no previous appointment). Entire service only $ 34. Nicely done!

Terrible supervision. Had oil changed and because oil pan plug was not tightened enough, leaked all over garage floor.
Had to have brake job redone.
Took two tries to align wheels.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! CARD FRAUD & I NEVER RECEIVED THE TIRES I ORDERED!!!
I had the worst experience with them regarding buying tires and was stranded in Dessert Springs, CA due to whatever «excuse» of miscommunication you want to call it!
I was in Dessert Springs with a flat tire and needed to purchase 2 new tires. Not a single tire store in the area (not even the Benz dealership) and any of my tires so I would need to place an order. Spoke to an employee at Romona’s tires, named Isaac, SEVERAL times throughout the day getting tire sizes, prices, etc. In order to confirm the tires to be delivered in the morning, he told me I needed to provide my card and billing info for a deposit. Ok, sounded feasible. So I gave my: name on card, credit card number, expiration, CVV code, billing address AND current address, and email for the order. Was told the tires would arrive first thing in the morning, guaranteed (which I needed in order to make it to a work meeting back in LA). Morning comes, I call at 9am, manager says my tires are not in yet but are on the truck and should arrive by 12 or 1pm latest. I wait… Call at 1:30pm right before I head over to the store, and the same manager now tells me that «there has not been any tire orders placed, but if I needed tires he could order some to come in 3 days» WHAT???
All the manager did was «apologize» and say he didn’t understand the mix up
TWO DAYS later, my bank calls to tell me about a detection that my credit card information information had been hacked and they were issuing me new bank cards immediately!!!
AGAIN DO NOT GO HERE! FRAUD/​THEIF EMPLOYEES! Don’t trust your order nor personal information with them!!! Go anywhere else, not here!!!

they ordered by tires a month before my rims. made sure my rims were installed with no damage since my rims were very $$$$$. one of the employees delivered my OEM rims to my storage bin

Special thanks to Isaak for recently diagnosing a «clunking» sound in my front suspension. Ends up it was the result of under-​tightened ball-​joint bolts from some bodywork at another garage over a year ago. The whole assembly was hanging by one bolt and we could have been killed if it gave away on the freeway! No charge for the diagnosis and the other garage covered the work and fixed things. You guys at Ramona are the best and will remain my trusted mechanics.

Run don’t walk! They will over charge you and tell you that more is wrong with your car every time you go in. They push getting the Ramona Tire credit card. Then they suddenly find that the car needs repairs that ad up to the limit that you got on the new card. If you say no then they say I’ll talk to my boss and see if he can do better on the price. Sure enough they can. Here is an example a radiator repair stared at 1000 then can back at 600 then came back again at 500. Bottom line do not take your car here they are horrible. Ps charged 100 diagnosis fee just to look at it too! Got the repair done somewhere else for 220. I was very unhappy with my service. Didn’t feel like I was being treated honestly and that is never a good feeling when it comes to the safety of your car. Will not be going back. and its too bad I really wanted to like it there!

Bait and switch. I was on a time schedule so I asked them what they had in stock. Selected name brand tires @ $ 93 per tire. I was told they were in stock. Waited for an hour and then I was told that they did not have the tires but they were on the way from another store. Two hours later four tires were put on my car but I was told that they were a different name brand and they were $ 135 per tire but they would let me have them for $ 92. I go out to the car and they installed some junky off brand tires. I was late for work so I had to go. I looked them up when I got to work and you can but them anywhere for $ 65 or less. Never again!

1 star is too much for this place. I took my mother’s car in for an oil change (the works, oil filter, air filter, etc) and tire alignment/​rotation and only went there due to the fact that she had a warranty for her alignment and her tires (or so they told her at first). They at that point called my mother and told her that she needed to replace the rear tires and that they were not under warranty, they also told her that she needed to replace the rack and pinion, as well as the power steering fluid and charged over $ 1,100 for the job. If that wasn’t enough they said it was almost done at noon and when I took her to pick it up at 5 so she could get to work in the morning, it was still jacked up and incomplete. We then had to wait until 5 the next day to pick it up, while driving if the wheel was cranked all the way to either side in drive or reverse it would grind and click. We called to inform them of the issue and were told to bring it in the next day. Of course the next day the car wouldn’t even start the next morning, keep in mind, the car had no problems what so ever before we took it to Ramona and the car was now leaking. We finally brought it in a week later after I personally worked on the car and got it to work, we were informed that they didn’t top off the power steering fluid and the rack and pinion was not calibrated right. They fixed this free of charge and told us that the reason for the leak was the oil pan gasket. They quoted my mother over $ 350 to replace the gasket that they ruined when it was brought in. I’ll go and spend $ 40 at max and replace the gasket myself and keep the extra $ 300+ for myself. Customer service was garbage and all they did was walk around the problems instead of taking the blame for what they did wrong. I will never go here again, nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. I will do the exact opposite and send them somewhere that will do the job right and at a «fair price».

Brought my Ford Raptor truck for a tire rotation. I have been only customer in the waiting room and have been sitting here for an hour. I ask for a time estimate and of course, they say, «It will be done soon.» If I didn’t have a free tire rotation coupon I never would have came here nor will I ever return.

Just got a great deal on a lifetime warranty for vehicle alignments. Awesome customer service and they get the job done. They fixed my alignment when others told me it was impossible.

I highly recommend this auto service company! We were visiting from out of town recently and our check engine light came on. I called Ramona’s based on the excellent reviews I had read. They were closed for the evening however Nick was there still working. I explained that our engine light had come on and that we were worried about driving all the way home the following day. It was a 400 mile drive and we were worried whether it would be safe to make the drive. He invited us to come right in so he could at least diagnose the issue so we would know if it was safe to drive home and what problem we were dealing with. My husband went right over and they diagnosed the situation immediately and let us know what the issue was and that we could get it resolved once we got home. I am stunned that Nick was willing to stay late and have us come over for the diagnosis. We appreciate his thoughtfulness so much! If we lived in the area this would have earned them a customer for life. If we are ever in the area again and have any car issues this is the only place we will go.

Needed the fan/​Ac belt and a pully changed on my truck. They did it in about an hour. Great customer service as well.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! THEY RIP YOU OFF AND TAKE ADVANTAGE!!! I took my vehicle here for a spur of the moment oil change, and was told that I needed new brakes and rotors! I was told that my rotor’s were «dangerously thin» and there was 15% left on my brake pads. I was bummed, but knew I should get a second opinion. My husband even told me that if they let me drive off knowing that they were at a «dangerous» point, something was wrong. So, I took it to the Ramona Tire in Indio, and low and behold… I didn’t need EITHER!!! Thank god for the Indio Location! There are some honest, good people in this world!!! I will rip apart the Palm Desert Location off of Country Club till I die!!! It is absolutely disgusting what they tried to do to me!!! It’s infuriating!!! People like this disgust me! I have already told several people I know about this, and can’t wait to spread the word even more! This is a small valley and word spreads fast! This place should be sent to the better business bureau. What goes around, comes around… and I hope they get their turn. Absolutely terrible!!!

Been going to Ramona tire stores since 1994. Not the cheapest service, but always reliable and honest with a clean shop and nice waiting room. The manager at Palm Desert, John, knows how to keep customers satisfied. Handling my cars for the past 18 years, there is no way you will get me into a dealership and they get high quality parts from local dealers, when needed. Another tip: if they cannot help you, they will tell you that, such as when they tested and thought my head gasket was blown, they made a good, local referral.
