Total Wine & More

Upside, huge selection. Downside, terrible customer service. Guess I was bothering them with my questions on whether they had a certain wine that my mother-​in-​law likes to where to find tonic. Also very high prices — was surprised since it’s a warehouse-​type store. Not impressed.

We’re visiting Palm Springs from the Bay Area and have had a difficult time finding our favorite Irish Whisky, Connemara. We called and spoke to Shawn who assured us it was in Stock at a fair price. While there oohing and aweing at the great selection we decided to purchase our Scotch loving friend a birthday present. Eddie is the man, a true expert. He gave us an inservice, showed us the regional map and walked us through the best buys in our price range. Would you believe we walked out of the store with a 21 year old bottle for 80 $? Amazing service and incredible selection of every libation your heart desires. The Belgian beer selection was just fabulous!

Great selection, great location. My only complaint with this location is their cigar humidor. Twice I have bought $ 100 worth of cigars here and they are dry as a bone. Who ever is running the cigar department is completely clueless on how to treat a humidor.

This is located at the western end of Fred Waring Drive. Just pass HWY 111 intersection. Plenty of parking and easy to find.
FYI: to save you the issue, if someone is with you and they don’t have their ID then I’d suggest to tell them to go to the car after you’re done with your selection before you make an appearance at the register, otherwise they’ll possibly deny you your purchase because of it. Yes it’s dumb, so just don’t give them that opportunity.
If you’re looking for any type of liquor, beer, or spirit you’ve come to the right place. Their variety is massive and have their sections by type of alcohol you’re looking for. They also have a well knowledges staff here that can help you pick certain items. From well known to unknown, this is the place you gotta go for new items. They also offer wine tastings and the occasional beer tastings for only 10¢ a person for the day! Before entering the store you can read their bulletin board of what tastings are upcoming and what they got going on for the day. They have bottle chill machines by the registers, so you can leave with a cold bottle.
If you need help with whiskey and scotch selections please look for Eddie! He can explain most types they carry and almost pinpoint your preference. Also he’s good to help bring in new scotch/​whiskey enthusiasts.
Overall 5 stars because it’s crazy not too! You’ll keep coming back after the first time.

We are on vacation and Walked in with my valid ID to purchase a bottle since my older brother didn’t have ID on him … they refused to sell us alcohol but they couldn’t show any thing In writing to confirm that statement. They called the assistant manager Mr F over and he put his leg up on the bagging section while he was talking to me In a way that we are like criminal or something … anyhow long story short I did not appriciate the way he talked to us. Maybe he has knowledge on liguir and cigar but definitely he doesn’t know anything how to handle customer concern or customer service … total wine should do better job on training their leaders who interact with consumer on daily basis. Very disappointed with this employee

I had only ever been to BevMo before this place opened near on of my friend’s houses, and boy am I glad it did.
Easily twice the size of most other places I’ve been to, with a selection to match.
This place also does wine and beer tastings on site which I thought was a pretty cool idea.
I recently took a trip out to Colorado, and became a micro brew beer snob. The problem here lies in the fact that it’s difficult to find the smaller CO beers here in CA.
I’m happy to report that Total Wine carries Mexican Logger from SKA Brewing, but nothing else which I thought was strange. It’s nice to have the logger from time to time, but I would have liked to see a more well rounded offering, not just one beer.
Additionally, I was searching for Churchkey beer, and the sales associate informed me that the last time they took delivery of that was April, and they don’t think they’ll be carrying it moving forward, which I think is a HUGE mistake.
I’ll be back next time we venture out that way to see our friends.

I actually think this is a wonderful store, well-​stocked with all kinds of liquor, cordials and beer at very fair prices. There is no other place I would rather shop for wine, it puts Bev-​Mo to shame.
I gave this store only one star in attempt to draw management’s attention to one glaring issue: lousy service. On checking out (my bill was about $ 240), the clerk never once even looked at me. He maintained an ongoing discussion with the clerk at the station next to him, and completely ignored me.
Great way to ruin a great shopping experience.

Plus five stars for awesome craft beer selection, especially the single cans and bottles. Minus one star for snooty/​hostile/​indifferent staff. Minus another star for half the single cans or bottles ringing up as six-​packs making checkout painful.

This is the second time I’ve had to write a review for this place! I cannot believe this problem with management and the rude employees has not been fixed! How much more terrible does it have to be for you people to do something about it? I decided to give this store a second chance after my last review today and omg I should have never came back! The clerk was beyond rude to me and the management didn’t care at all! Seriously get a grip of this place before you lose even more customers! I’m not coming back EVER AGAIN! And I’m warning all my friends, family and strangers to never step foot in this place unless they want to be treated like shit.

Great, well-​versed staff that is kind, and always willing to help walk you through the store and ease your indecision. Prices are great, selection is remarkable, but be careful… you may end up spending more than you originally thought, because you «can’t pass up that deal!»

Wow! I had heard so much about Total Wine but this was my first time visiting. I wish we had one close to our house! This one is close to our friends’ Palm Springs house. We were in need of some cocktail ingredients so our friend suggested the visit. We just needed a few ingredients but ended up skipping through all of the aisles like kids in a candy store. A vast variety of wines, craft beers and spirits at a great price. We got what we needed and then some. Cocktails by the pool were fantastic!

I wish they had one of these stores in San Diego. They have a huge selection! They even have Gabrielle Union’s Moscato. The service is friendly, I think they do wine tastings daily. You can probably find anything you need to make any sort of drink you’d ever want in here. I try to stop in whenever I visit the desert
The only thing that irked me was the wine-​helper speaking French to me when I asked her about Chardonnay, lol. She was telling me which bottle to get and apparently the name was French and she couldn’t wait to blurt it out.
Wine girl: I asked you a question in English and didn’t need you to show off your French and superior wine knowledge. Answer me in English and show me exactly which bottle you’re talking about. If I ask you the name, then proceed to wow me with your Francais. Liquor nerds (term I just made up) are the worst.

I just went in to but a bailey and a water bottle an a coca cola and because my husband didn’t have his id on him they didn’t let me but nothing including the water ps. I’m was buying it and I had my id and I’m 29 years old!!! Not even the water H2o!!!

AMAZING selection. Don’t let your husband go in alone or he’ll come out with 3 (incredible) bottles and 6 (unnecessary) cigars and a dent in the wallet. Ok, don’t let my husband go in alone.
Jokes aside, it’s a great store with a variety of price points, tastes, and more. The craft beer selection is unparalleled.

Total candy store for booze lovers. Huge selection, and I mean huge. Nice staff and in-​store wine tasting. Nice selection of point-​of-​sale items, and liquor condiments and paraphernalia.
Did I say amazing selection of everything at good prices. Nice point rating system on some brands/​items.
Not enough Chilean wine selection such as Carmenare Products. I assume the same for Argentinian Malbec selection but did not look closely.

They just don’t have places like this in Canada.

1 Part — Nutliquor Peanut Butter Vodka
1 Part — Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka
1 Part — Crisma Caribbean Rum Cream Liqueur
Splash of — Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur
Splash of — Frangelico
(Optional) Garnish with — 3 Mini Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Cups on a swizzle stick
To prepare the martini, combine the liquids in a martini shaker filled halfway with ice. Shake for 30 – 40 seconds and pour into a chilled martini glass.

I went here simply because it was the closest liquor store when I was in town. From the very beginning it was a FUN adventure. Huge selection, well laid out, GREAT prices and plenty of employees walking around to answer my numerous questions. Not only do they have a great liquor selection but they also had a wonderful soda collection. They have a sign as you enter comparing their prices to Bev Mo. Their prices did seem better, and frankly it just had a better feel than Bev Mo. Less corporate and more independent.

I wish there was a Total Wine near my house! I try to visit this location every time I am in Palm Springs and in need of some libations. Which is starting to be more and more!
Total Wine strikes a great balance on the selection of Wines verses Beers and Spirits. And on top of that, the friendly staff are total booze geeks. If you want to know most anything about the grape varietal of a certain wine, or vintage… or what the brewer had for breakfast the day he made a certain batch… then these folks most likely know.

Holy cow is this place massive.
Would need to do some more shopping around in the area, but we paid 30% more vs we pay in Chicago for a bottle of Rye.

Total Wine is like the Holy Grail of liquor stores! It is not at all impressive from the outside but upon walking in I was in utter amazement. Aisle after aisle of wine, liquor and beer. Total Wine had the largest selection of whiskey and beer I’ve ever seen. They had one of my favorite whiskeys, that I have a hard time finding here in Colorado. Not only did they have it but they had three iterations of it.
Total Wine OMG!
