History

Established in 1996.

The Design Collective Group is a multi-​faceted interior design firm with the newly established retail home décor studio, Design Pure + Simple in downtown Palm Springs, CA.

Founded by nationally recognized designer, Michael A. Thomas, FASID, the firm has completed projects from New York to Palm Springs, from the resorts of Jupiter, Florida to Park City, Utah and from metropolitan areas from Chicago to Houston.

Business Owner

Michael is the President of The DESIGN Collective Group, Inc., and an designer with a special interest in creating environments that are functional, practical and accessible to anyone, no matter age or ability. His showroom at the Scottsdale Design District features a collection of cabinetry for the kitchen and bath, furnishings and accessories by Palecek, and products for universal design applications.

He is co-​author of the book Residential Design for Aging In Place and has been featured and quoted in various media including Dwell, Time, Interiors + Sources, The Miami Herald, The Palm Beach Post and ASID’s Icon magazine.

Michael is an active volunteer for ASID, has served four terms on the National Board of Directors including the Society’s National President.
