Richard was amazing to work with! We planned our Palm Springs wedding from Australia and he was accomodating and so helpful! He made sure our ceremony reflected us perfectly and it was hands down the best part of the day! I would highly recommend Richard for anyone’s wedding!!!

Couldn’t have picked a better wedding Officiate! My husband and I were married this last Saturday and Richard performed the ceremony. He did such an incredible job. He was fun and interactive and knew exactly what to say to make the ceremony about us.
He ran our rehearsal as well and it went without a hitch. He has so much knowledge about what needs to be done and when and how. It was so incredibly helpful! I even had a guest who was taking notes for his own wedding coming up this June. He mentioned that he didn’t realize how much goes into the ceremony and how many little things there are that only a professional would know about. Wow, what a wonderful experience! We scheduled an elopement 30 days from the first time I contacted Richard and knew right away he was the right guy for the job. We spoke on the phone about what we wanted and he understood with an open heart and mind. We didn’t have a rehearsal (it was an elopement of sorts) and everything went smoothly and perfectly. Last Tuesday my wife and I were wed in Palm Springs, and Richard performed the ceremony beautifully. We had a semi-​elopement with just our mothers and siblings present. We only started the planning process a couple months ago, and Richard was helpful and accommodating all throughout the process. You get the sense that he truly enjoys marrying couples, and he always seemed honored and privileged to be part of the process. We can’t recommend Joyful Weddings & Events highly enough!

He came to us highly recommended from our wedding coordinator and friends. We were planning our wedding in Palm Springs but we live in Ohio. We were a little uncertain about using someone we didn’t really know, because we wanted our ceremony to feel very personal. Turns out, there was no reason to worry.
We first met with Richard about 9 months before the ceremony and he spent several hours getting to know both me and my fiancé. Our communication continued in the months leading up to the wedding and he worked with us to really customize our ceremony. One of the things that stands out most is he stuck around after the rehearsal to go to the rehearsal dinner. He really wanted to get to know us and our friends and family. By the time the wedding rolled around, it felt like we had known him for years. His ceremony perfect. He made people laugh and cry. Everything was exactly how we dreamed it would be, but even better.
He also was a great help when it came to making sure all our paperwork was in order and done correctly.
There aren’t words to say how thankful we are Richard came into our lives. There is no one else we would have wanted there to guide us through our special day.

My wife and I looked around for an officiant and first noticed Richard due to his looks. I know that sounds weird, but he looks like a minister, priest, etc.
But after just ONE phone call, I felt like we’ve known each other for YEARS. He gave us suggestions on our wedding day and did a phenomenal job. We couldn’t have asked for better. (Great price too!)

Richard married my daughter and son n law yesterday on ¹⁰⁄₃₁. I cannot begin to explain how amazing and beautiful everything was. We contacted Richard just a little over four months ago and from day one he understood what we wanted. I explained to him that we were on a budget and he made things happen. The venue he was able to obtain for the ceremony amazingly beautiful. He also got the photographer for us and was also able to help us obtain the marriage license without having to go down to the courthouse. He was so patient and kind with us through the whole journey. Thank you Richard for everything. It was a truly beautiful day.

We did a web search and checked Unilocal to help us find a wedding officiant in Palm Springs since we live in the Philadelphia area and had no idea about people/​companies in that neck of the woods. It’s tough deciding on something so important without meeting face to face. We did a conference call with Richard and he seemed really nice and was very professional. We explained what we were looking for as far as the ceremony and more importantly, what we didn’t want. Richard listened very thoughtfully to what we said and put together a mock ceremony idea for us. It was perfect! He gets it! He’s not cookie cutter, he customizes what you want. Richard was extremely good at staying in touch with us and our emails were always returned promptly. The day of our wedding went as smooth as ice. He was there well ahead of time, helped us fill out the paperwork and gave a little friendly (and needed) advice on how to calm my nerves lol. His officiating style left the guest captivated and interested, not bored or counting the minutes until it was over. He was a great mixture of professionalism with a touch of humor to keep it on the lighter side. A few days later, we received a thank you email which also had info on how to obtain a certified copy from the County Recorders office. Our experience with Joyful weddings exceeded our expectations. It was a true pleasure. I HIGHLY recommend them and Richard both. You won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I live in Calgary, Canada and have always dreamed of eloping rather than hosting a large scale wedding. We began flirting with the idea of a California elopement and our dream was quickly realized once we made contact with Richard. We found Richard’s contact on a Saturday afternoon and emailed him a quick inquiry. He generously responded to all of our questions and more within hours. Richard called us the very next day. We chatted for nearly 45 minutes — it was like we were old friends catching up! By Monday evening we sent in our deposit and were getting married in 4 weeks time. It was that easy! How many people can say their wedding was practically planned within 48 hours??!
Richard kept in close contact with us over the course of the next month, answering all of our questions with ease. Richard was very flexible and resourceful — our ceremony location changed multiple times on the day of the wedding and Richard didn’t miss a beat. He happily helped us scout out the perfect place to exchange our vows.
Richard connected us with an amazing photographer, Ashley LaPrade. Ashley was the perfect and rare combination of photographer, stage director, witness, best man and maid of honour. I would most definitely recommend Ashley to any couple marrying in the Palm Springs area. She made us so comfortable and helped us to embrace or special day. Our photos are stunning — surpassing all of our expectations!
In addition to sourcing out the best photographer, Richard made great recommendations for our hotel, our wedding celebration dinner, our flower shop, and my hair and makeup salon. We highly recommend Rev. Richard Cadieux for all of your wedding needs as he made everything, including processing all the legal paperwork, so very easy. It was the very perfect day. Richard and Gary are just absolutely amazing. As a retired event planner I was happy to say that the last marriage I was involved with (6000– Yes that many) was my own and I had to do NOTHING. From the help with the license, to the vows, to the site location, to the pictures, to the notarized certificate, our ceremony by Richard was blissful. If your coming from one of those states (Ohio) that don’t allow our marriages, then just call Richard and Gary, hop on a plane, stay at the La Joya Inn and get married in just two days. These gentlemen are professionals and are sweethearts.

I’m a local Photographer in Palm Springs and can tell you from experience Richard is the most professional and knowledgeable officiant in the valley. I always know its going to be an organized stress free wedding when I work with Richard. That environment really reelects on the images, and we have always get great results working with him. I met Richard at a local event and he handed me his business card. My husband and I had just relocated to the desert and I am a professional harpist (
). So I emailed Richard to see if he might be able to recommend me to his clients and vice versa.
He mentioned that he had an event in downtown Palm Springs during PRIDE weekend where he was going to marry couples every 10 minutes for FREE!!! I asked if I could volunteer my services and he accepted. I was able to watch the services that day and Richard has such a gentle, kind manor. He makes the service personal and unique. I would definitely recommend him!
Also, he organized such a high quality setting. The seating, flowers, etc… was top notch!
