I recommend this place they are very friendly and very efficient and they will get you back on the road and reasonable prices as well thanks Joe and thanks to your hard working mechanic you got there well done and I am satisfied so far.

Had to get a new clutch and fly wheel for my BMW, took it to Big J’s shop and could not be happier with the work. Very honest and excellent customer service. Freddy the mechanic even took me back in the shop and showed me the old flywheel that was destroyed and why they recommended I needed a new one. If you ever have any type of car trouble around Palmdale, definitely take it there. Great auto shop!

I had transmission leak, I went to big J’s transmission repair (about a month ago) because of all the good Unilocal reviews. These guys are very helpful, honest and took really good care of my car. The only downside is that I had to wait 2 hours for the Chevy dealer to deliver parts. But, Big J was constantly on the phone trying to find out why my parts was delayed. great bunch of guys.

Tried this place today for the first time based on the good Unilocal reviews it has received in the past. The reviews did not let me down. These guys were awesome. Super friendly, honest, and did what I needed very quickly. The prices are great as well. I will be going back with both my cars for routine services and everything else in-​between.

The AC on my wifes car went out and Joe squeezed me in to troubleshoot it. When the part came in, he did the same. Between the 2 trips I was there less than an hour. Fast, Friendly, and Fair prices. I highly recommend Big J’s!

Hey all just found out joe has an actual ford certified power stroke and gas technician on site now and he is quick and clean at his work if it is broke he will fix it.

$ 1500.00 for a patch job that didn’t last 90 days. they will never get any of my business ever again.

Where to begin…
I first brought my vehicle to Joe when it started doing these intermittent «bucks.» I was thinking it was a tranny problem. And to be honest, I almost didn’t come here because of one bad (bogus) review I read. I’m sure glad I did though!
Long story short…
Joe was poised to do a simple tranny servicing, in hopes that it would solve my issue. Turns out, there was metal in the pan and a rebuild was decided to diffuse a ticking timebomb. The price was fair, and even lower than it should have been based on an initial quote based on an initial assumption. He stuck to his word on the initial quote and saved me a couple hundred dollars.
When I got my vehicle back with the rebuilt tranny, it was shifting buttery smooth. However, the initial symptom persisted. We mutually decided a tune-​up was the next step. replacing spark plugs and wires. This was needed, one way or the other.
But still the initial problem persisted!
Based on additional feedback, he thought it might’ve been a problem in the rear end, and did some work shaving down a protruding bolt, and putting new fluid inside.
Still — the problem was there! And Joe didn’t even charge me for the previous misstep on his part.
By this point, Joe was really getting all deep zen-​like focused. We BOTH wanted to figure out the problem and more importantly, SOLVE it!
Joe narrowed it down to something in the ignition system. He reckoned it could be one (or more) of three different components. He got all new parts and installed them, but kept the original parts just in case the new parts didn’t make the problem disappear. Joe was thinking ahead to keep me from spending any more money than I needed to.
After replacing the three components in the ignition system, finally, the problem was solved!
It took some time, but Joe got the job done — as fast and affordably as he could!
Now, this is all well and good. But Joe went so far above and beyond the call of duty. Because this all happened around Christmas time, and during a family crisis. I was hard up in some very serious ways. Joe personally (and at times had whoever was on-​hand) drive me back and forth from the shop to my home, and vice-​versa. He helped me rent a vehicle when I needed one, and used his shop connections to get me a very steep discount.
There were so many challenges and obstacles throughout, and Joe stepped up to every one of them, to help me like he was a family member. I’ll always be so grateful for what he did. This kind of integrity and customer service is extremely rare. I’m a loyal customer forever, and I will always send others his way.

Big J saved me about $ 1800 when another transmission shop told me I had to replace the transmission. It turns out, it was overfilled and caused the gasket to leak… nice to know there is an honest mechanic that a woman can deal with, without getting taken advantage of.

Joe has been working on my car for 5 years. He has always told me what is needed. and never up sold me
Even told me to go get the parts before the service so I can save some money.
