Laurie Chestnutt Florals

Laurie was great to work with as our wedding florist. She responded quickly to my inquiry and set up a consultation at her workshop. I don’t know anything about flowers and I had a very short timeline. Laurie helped me to decide how many arrangements were needed, and to choose a style and colors to suit our event. She provided a detailed quote including photos of the flowers and colors, within the budget we had discussed. On the day of the wedding, Laurie arrived on time, set up the centerpieces, styled the cake, matched the boutineer wrap to my husband’s suit, and showed me how to hold the bouquet. I was very impressed by her attention to detail. The flowers looked great and we received many compliments about them. At the end of the night, our guests were fighting over who would take the centerpieces home!

Brides, do not hesitate in hiring Laurie as your wedding florist as it will be one of the best decisions you make! I am not an easy person to please — I have high standards and very few people/​vendors can live up to my expectations. However Laurie went above and beyond my expectations and I can, without a doubt, say that she was my favorite wedding vendor.
Laurie is extremely detailed, super understanding, and highly responsive. Her quotes/​estimates included beautiful examples of the flowers she was going to use and she was able to bring to life what I envisioned in my head for my florals. I didn’t think there would be any vendors who could execute my ideas but when the florals got dropped off in my bridal suite I ooh-​ed and ahh-​ed and all the girls could not stop taking pictures of them! 8 weeks after my wedding and I am still telling my husband how much I loved our wedding flowers. In fact I loved my bouquet so much that I had my maid of honor dry them down so I could preserve my bouquet in a shadowbox forever.
There aren’t too many vendors like Laurie anymore and I am so grateful I found her!

Laurie was amazing and personally delivered flowers from my family to my office for my birthday! When my mother requested dahlias in my bouquet and she did not have them available at the time, Laurie returned a few days later and brought me a brand new vase just with dahlias!!! Amazing service and beautiful bouquets that lasted over a week — highly recommend her services!

We worked with Laurie for our reception flowers and she did a beautiful job! She worked with our church florist to match all the flowers and they had the same ones and she made beautiful centerpieces and arrangements for our cake and sweet heart table. We retained Laurie to do the flowers for our large wedding party consisting of nearly 30. We wanted flowers that distinguished between out-​of-​town friends, local friends, and family in a subtle way. Laurie listened carefully to our thoughts (with patience, despite the fact that we changed our mind several times) and the final product was unbelievably beautiful… she gave us exactly what we wanted even though our order could not have been more complicated. She has an exquisite sense of style and color. Numerous guests at our wedding have commented on the flowers, and those who took home the centerpieces raved about how long they lasted. Laurie is a true professional and a delightful person to work with. She has excellent communication skills and works hard to please her clients. I could not recommend her more highly. I wish I could post a photo of the stunning bouquets!

I found Laurie through a friend. She did the flowers for my first wedding, both my parents funerals and my second wedding. Exactly what I wanted, gorgeous and well priced. She helped me find the right flowers for that time of year and help me keep within budget, etc. With my parents funerals I just called her and told her what I wanted and it was done. She is personable, down to earth, friendly and knowledgeable. She is my go to flower person for all my events!

I could not have been happier working with Laurie at my August wedding. I was an out-​of-​state bride who did a large part of my wedding planning online and over the phone. I had many specific requests; however, because of the distance, I also needed someone who I could trust to make tasteful decisions on my behalf. Laurie has impeccable taste and understood exactly I was looking for. She gave me fresh, elegant arrangements in festive colors. She coordinated all of the bridal bouquets, alter pieces, center pieces, and the arrangements on the cake. Moreover, she made suggestions to fit it all into my budget. She is very professional and easy to work with. All of the flowers were delivered and set up well in advance for my afternoon ceremony and evening reception. When scanning Unilocal for florists, I saw Laurie’s name and remembered that she had done the flowers for the weddings of both daughters of a good friend, and that I’d been really impressed. So called her for help with my own daughter’s wedding. My daughter wanted something very simple and specific, and Laurie got exactly what we wanted, and made several suggestions which not only saved us a lot of money but made the final result much better. It was a very large bunch of long-​stemmed calla lilies. She told us that we needed to get them several days before the event in order for them to start to open at the right time. She also told me where I could buy reasonably priced tall cylindrical vases (Marshall’s or Michael’s), which I did, and that saved me a lot of money.
The flowers were absolutely stunning! They put the visual emphasis on the stunning bride (and her groom), exactly as was appropriate. Despite the grand and spectacular venue of the gorgeously refurbished Granada Theater in Santa Barbara, the flowers ‘held their own’ and were the perfect ornament.

I had the pleasure of working with Laurie on our recent wedding and she did an absolutely amazing job with our flowers! Her quote came in under other florists, which was a plus, but she was also full of imagination and ideas. She completely understood what I was looking for and was also able to augment my ideas to make it much more beautiful and interesting.
Even brainstorming with her was a pleasure, but my bouquet on our wedding day was absolutely stunning. Many of our guests commented on how gorgeous it was, and I was almost speechless when I first saw it! Our bridal arch was also very lovely, sweet and totally creative. It was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony.
I would recommend her without reservation to anyone. I hope we can find an occasion to use her services again!
