Lisa is great. Took my wife there and she did a great job cutting and coloring her hair. She’s very detail oriented and takes her time. She definitely knows how to cut Asian hair. She only takes 1 customer at a time. Need appointment.

My first visit to a hair salon (ever!) was to Lisa’s Styling, and I am SO glad I chose this place for my first salon cut! I had a great experience. My nervousness quickly dissipated as soon as I walked into the door. I was greeted warmly right when I walked in and was promptly attended to as soon as Lisa finished with her previous client. While getting my actual haircut, it was obvious that she was being attentive to every little detail, even going back to parts of my hair to fix something she didn’t like. I was able to comfortably discuss with her what she and I thought might look best. In the end, she taught me how to style my hair so I’d be able to do it on my own. She was friendly and comfortable to talk to throughout the whole process. My hair feels and looks great! I will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Lisa is a detailed, forward-​thinking, and talented stylist. Good salons charge you a lot these days, but Lisa’s prices are so reasonable, and by far the best value. I get better results from her than I have from all the other stylists I’ve tried on the Peninsula.
I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews — this is a fantastic place to get your haircut. She also definitely knows how to cut asian hair, which reveals every cut. But it’s a real testament to her care and intuition as a stylist that her results have always been so good with me.

This is a lovely and convenient (near Stanford) hair salon owned by two partners. Don’t shy away from the seemingly conservative «grandma» vibe, they’ve got modern ideas. Lisa is a very patient stylist, she really listens to what you want, gives good advice, and knows what she’s doing.
It took Lisa two and a half hour to cut my over-​shoulder to a fresh short look, but she insisted to make the best out of everything even if both of us were hungry. Best thing of all, like she said, she really enjoyed the whole process herself.

I was referred to Lisa by a friend… She took her time to understand exactly what I was looking for with my hair. During the shampoo, she included a Japanese type massage which was extremely relaxing. She took her time cutting my hair and it turned out just how I wanted. It looked great!!! I just found out, she’s doing facials now, I can’t wait to get one. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful cut!!!

It’s a small, private, atelier-​style hair salon owned by Lisa-​san, the only Japanese hair stylist I’ve found in this area: 1) who was licensed in Japan before working in the US (which is important because this means she knows how to cut Asian hair); 2) whose haircut costs less than $ 50 (I paid $ 47 plus 20% tip which was well worth it for over 1 hour of super friendly service including shampoo, haircut & styling. I paid twice as much at another salon in the same neighborhood). Her native language is Japanese but she also speaks English. Also, she’s such a nice and genuine person (which characters I find difficult to find in anybody who are in the service industry) and I’m sure you’ll agree with me if you see her!
