Great exercise clothes at reasonable price. Though I must admit at times the sales associates are friendly. Other times, not so much. Today, it was a not so much day.
I asked if they had a pair of shorts in my size. And the clerk huffed off to get the pair.
The shorts were stiff and just not what I was looking for. The other sales associate assumed I would buy it. I did not. No attempt to show another option.
Online will be my choice in the future.

I’m not surprised by the Unilocal reviews for this store. The customer service is horrible. I came in today to make an exchange. Although I was the only customer, the clerk did not acknowledge me at all and acted annoyed when I approached her. I asked where to look for the item I specifically wanted and she very rudely pointed to a rack and told me that was all she had. She never did offer to help or ask if I needed help finding anything else. I was shopping with a very small, impatient child and any help would have been very much appreciated. When I was done with my transaction she did not thank me for shopping in the store, nor did she say goodbye. Once I made it home I realized that the item I just purchased was not what I asked for (different size of what I was exchanging). The new item, although it looked similar to what i returned, was not what I originally bought and it was less expensive. I checked my receipt and even though it was less expensive, I was not given a credit for that amount. The item was returned as an even exchange. I love Lucy’s clothing, but I don’t think I will be shopping at this store again.

Looking for a place with excellent customer service and a welcoming environment? Well this isn’t it. There was about 5 staff inside talking to each other, steaming the clothes, organizing and hanging clothes… No other customers inside but me. I heard no «hello» or «anything we can help you with» or «let is know if you need help». Nothing. They looked at me and that’s it. It felt like I was walking in on some private conversation — very uncomfortable environment. Won’t be coming here for my activewear again.

Usually I love going into Lucy. So much so that I signed up for their email list and closely follow their sales.
On Dec 11 I went in to return a few items (after spending $ 500 on their sale :) and the sales woman behaved oddly… the opposite of receptive and customer service oriented. She barely spoke but emitted hostility. Was she upset my returns would lower her sales for the day? Don’t know. I was just happy to get out of there and away from her bad vibes. Clothes quality is solid but wait for their sales, as their regular prices are high.
Oh, and to the other poster who wondered if she received rude treatment because you’re a minority: I doubt it… I think the sales person is just «that way» to most people.

The customer service at this store is lacking. If you like shopping at Lucy I recommend going to either Burlingame, San Francisco or Santana Row. I found the behavior of a particular sales associate at this store to be so offensive that I felt it necessary to write a letter to the corporate office:
«I had purchased a few sale items only a few days ago and wanted to see if I could get a price adjustment on my purchase because of the extra 30% off sale promo going on this weekend. I asked my question to a woman I believe to be the manager and was given a lot of attitude and treated rudely for no reason. I felt her verbal and physical response was intended to intimidate me and make me feel bad about myself for even asking my question. When I showed her my receipt her response was also rude,“what are these items??? I don’t even know what this merchandise is». It was only after I held my ground that she begrudgingly adjusted my receipt with the 30% discount. I appreciate her eventually honoring the promo for my recent purchase but feel this is no way to treat customers. I wanted to continue to shop in the store after our exchange but felt unwelcome and so I left without purchasing additional items. I did nothing to warrant this rude and disrespectful treatment and wanted to let you know. I have been a longtime customer of Lucy for over 5 years and regularly buy sale and full price items. Every customer that walks in the door should be treated with respect and courtesy regardless of what they are purchasing or what their ethnicity is. Part of me wondered if I was being given this harsh treatment because I am a minority.“
As a follow up, I received a response back from corporate saying they would send my comments to the store management team, but I am curious to know if this particular issue actually ends up being addressed with the associate I interacted with.

I experienced the rudest sales associate (Ashley) on ⁷⁄₁₄. She insisted on telling me what my size was. When I asked to try on a small and x-​small, she gave me only the small size since she believed I would not fit into the x-​small. I should not have to ask twice and justify my reason for trying on an x-​small. Before I purchased the x-​small, she snootily commented, «That should stretch for you». I don’t buy yoga clothing so it can stretch. Her comment was passive aggressive, unprofessional and implied that I bought an item that I can’t fit into. I give props to Athleta and Lululemon for hiring professional sales associates, however the quality of both Lululemon and Lucy has gone down within the past 2 years.

While many people complain about Lucy being expensive, I would have to disagree on a couple of points. The initial prices, true, are comparable to Lululemon. But, Lucy is different because of their frequent sales. We visited Stanford shopping center because Lucy was having an additional 25% off reduced items. This is pretty darn good! And, the sale wasn’t on a measly few items, but about ¾ of the entire store! I ended up with a very nice cross back tank for $ 30 that was originally $ 55 and very similar to a piece at Lululemon. I also got a very lightweight longsleeve for $ 15. This is not bad at all considering the high quality and comfort level of the items. Their clothing can be worn by the 20 or 50 yr old gym goer.
The service in the store was also superior, and the ladies were all very helpful. I was truly excited to find the last shirt of my size on the mannequin, and they happily redressed her so I could purchase it! Plus, if that isn’t enough, they had free Luna bar samples to munch on. Nom nom nom.
If you are a yoga pant, workout wear junkie, give Lucy a chance! They have many sales and you CAN find a good deal.

as with all lucy wear, i do like wearing their clothes to run, do bootcamp or practise yoga. their clothes are colourful, comfortable, and breathable (very important for those of us who sweat a lot!) i own several pieces of lucy clothing, all of which i am very happy with.
this particular location seems a bit smaller, space-​wise, at least compared to the santana row location, the other lucy store that i frequent. i also feel that there is less product selection compared to santana row.

I LOVE Lucy. I am a yoga teacher and wear «active» clothing every day. Lucy’s products are incredibly durable, ridiculously comfortable, and — in my opinion — worth the price for how long they last. Many of the other reviews compare Lucy to Lululemon; I find Lucy’s clothing *much* more comfortable and a far better value for the price.
One word of advice: If possible, try on clothes in the store. Different styles fit differently! While I wear a M in almost everything, I wear a S in some of Lucy’s pants (and I’m 5’9″!). Different styles also have different cuts, and while some will fit beautifully, others won’t work — naturally, as one style does not fit all bodies!

I really wanted to like Lucy but they gave me all the reason not to. I agree with other reviewers that the prices are high for the quality of their items and it seems as though they are trying to «keep up with the Luluemons» if you will. I really do not like brands that just throw up high prices because of a trend and because they think the masses will just buy and throw caution to the wind.
The customer service here is super lacking. I was specifically looking for a mat towel that they had advertised and it took 2 days… yes 2 days! for someone to get in touch with me to let me know that they no longer had it in stock and on top of that I was the one who had to initiate a second phone call to get this information. When I asked for help and to find out if they had it the «customer service» girl acted extremely put out. Was it really that hard to look in your inventory?
At any rate, I probably will not be back and for my dollar just head to Lulelemon next time I need something for practice.

definitely overpriced active wear that you can probably find a lot cheaper else where. but, i’m giving this place 3 stars because they sell sizes that actually fit me and i received excellent service, which i find rare whenever shopping at stanford.
also the pants are flattering and the fitted yoga pants don’t give you camel toe. did i just say that? i stopped by gap for some pants just before coming here and decided to return the ones i bought there for $ 35 to get better fitting pants at lucy for $ 45. just like lululemon, most of their full length pants cost around $ 90, but i happen to get a style that was a lot less. i don’t think i’d ever splurge $ 90 on work out clothes.

Normally I wouldn’t shop here because I think it’s way too expensive. I like to get my workout clothes at Nike and Under Armour outlets because they have the same prices as Target but way better quality. I don’t understand how people can afford ridiculously expensive workout clothes in a recession (especially Lululemon, which to me is even more expensive than Lucy).
However, even though I don’t shop here I think their workout clothes are SUPER cute (much more than that really, really pricey place, and they’re clothes are kinda ugly sometimes) and I always get Lucy emails. When I saw the recent Spring Sale I came in, tried on a few things, loved them all, but didn’t buy anything. But then it gets better! The sale went to 30% off lowest marked price, and I couldn’t help myself!
The saleswomen are a little pushy, but if you tell them in a nice way to back off, they will. I’m an avid runner, size XS and they had a ton of stuff still in my size even though the sale had been going on for a few weeks already. I got a pair of running tights, 2 really cute and comfy fitting compression tanks (great for running and yoga) and a cute pack of headbands all for $ 75!
I will not make a habit of shopping here, unless they are having a sale, then it’s on! Why would I pay full price, when a few times a year I can pay outlet prices and stock up on really great workout gear. Yay for sales!

I really like the fit on these clothes, esp pants since I am short and they fit me and don’t drag on the ground like all the other brands. I noticed about a year into one pair that the stitching was fraying in the back. I called their customer service, they located my purchase, I sent the old ones in [they paid] & got a new pair no charge. These pants last. I have a number of them and wear them daily and can see no wear on them. Cute tops too. Someday they will make them less long and less low cut – sized for us shorter girls!!! I love the service in the stores & go for the online sales since the nearest store is over the bridge.

Nothing spectacular about the store or the products.

I have yet to wear/​wash my clothes so I cannot comment on the quality of the products, but Kelly was a fantastic salesperson at this store.
She knew the products (very well), was extremely helpful and not too pushy. Her feedback was genuine and believable.
I love my new workout outfit and just hope it lasts!

Yes, Lucy is relatively expensive and doesn’t seem as high-​quality as Lululemon. However, I still end up buying a lot more from Lucy because they actually have good sales, so if you can hold out and wait for a sale, then BINGO you have yourself a good deal.
For example, for the next few days they’re having a promotion for an extra 30% off all markdowns, so I was able to buy a running skirt/​capri for $ 30 (original price $ 75) — not too shabby.
The salespeople are friendly and good at offering suggestions about what to buy for what activity, sizing, the fit, etc., and they seem pretty knowledgeable whenever I have a question.
Also, if you order online, there are often free shipping and/​or discount codes that you can find through Google… and if something doesn’t fit, you can exchange/​return it at the store.

All activewear, no casual clothes. Prices are high for standard, made out of cotton, unshapely (and not to mention, not cute) clothes.
They get an extra star for a huge array of items on sale.

Lucy Activewear has some really great clothing items and fabulous sales! I have amazing black cotton yoga pants from Lucy that I love! Also, I have found some excellent and unique deals on sale here. I bought a pink Mountain Hardware fleece (didn’t know those existed!), cute tie-​dyed socks, floral racer-​back tank tops (so cute that I bought the yellow and red!), and a pink Lily Pullitzer shirt. I almost always come by this store when I’m at the Stanford Shopping Center and it’s right by my Starbucks stop too!
They also have a good return policy. You can return anything for store credit and use the store credit for a long time after… Even better when your mom decides to return something and give you the store credit!

The salespeople were rather clueless, the store was rather messy, and the selection was just okay. I did get an awesome pair of Lucy yoga pants — for $ 62! That’s kinda expensive. But everything else less expensive in the store did not fit right on me. So…
I heard Lululemon in Burlingame is worth checking out for yoga clothes (and yoga mat carrying straps)…
