Super good! Quality service that never disappoints!

The food is not bad, but on a Friday night around 730pm we waited over an hour between sitting down and getting our food. In the time that we waited, there were 4 door dash orders that came and went. There were only two waiters/waitresses, so I imagine there were likewise very few chefs in the kitchen that are prioritizing the door dash orders. Again, the food isn’t bad at all. The next time I eat from here will probably be through door dash. Never again going to sit down in this restaurant.

Very poor service. You have to wait for a long time for your order. Quantity is very less. Price is expensive. Location is amazing and a big large space. The servers are rude and not welcoming. This is my third and last time because my son loves Thai food it’s close to home I kept coming back but no longer !!

SUMMARY: Eaten in once and takeout once. Tried the chicken pad thai + chicken red curry + tom yum gai soup + chicken panang curry. Overall ok — would go back when I’m craving thai and don’t want to go too far, but definitely wouldn’t seek it out when I’m look for good thai. This would be 3 stars for the area, but just 2 stars(«Meh») compared to places with other options(e.g., San Francisco, DC, Boston…). — – DETAILS — – FOOD: I like that the pad thai comes with chicken or shrimp AND tofu because I’m always torn whether I want tofu or chicken. Pad thai is good, but nothing special. It is a bit bland like others say, but I’ve had much worse. The chicken red curry and panang curry are good but lacking on veggies — throw in a few more veggies and it would be very good! Same for the tom yum gai. SERVICE: neutral INTERIOR: Interior is like a typical nice thai restaurant — dim lighting and nice tables. Nothing particularly special though.

I am eating here right now and very disappointed. The curries are water down, the soup is not fresh, and the rice is not Thai jasmine rice. I don’t believe this restaurant is ran by authentic Thai people. They don’t have the knowledge and respect for Thai cuisine. I won’t come here again!

Really delicious food but very lengthy service. I have been here multiple times and the food is consistently authentic and fresh. Not to mention that the prices are more than reasonable with many items for $ 10 on the lunch menu in the heart of Palo Alto. Today I had pumpkin curry with beef and it was mouth watering. The consistency of the curry was just perfect — not too watery and not too think. The beef was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. I wish there a few vegetables in the curry as it only had beef, pumpkin and basil. It’s definitely worth a visit; just avoid busy times or prepare to wait.

The food is good; service, although impersonal, is usually prompt. The location on University Ave(near the Apple Store) is always really busy and parking is hard to find, but available in parking structures across the street, in spaces around corner and in lots behind the restaurant on Hamilton. Décor isn’t fancy, but the restaurant is nice and clean. Personally, I love Thai food and the spicier the better. I’ve had better, but this place is the best I’ve found in the bay area. Usually very busy at lunch, so takeout can be slow, but service the dining room doesn’t suffer.

First time here for lunch, waited 7 mins for the menu, then 25 mins for food. No service at all and the food quality is below Avg. So I gave 2 stars.

Slow slow slow slow. Everything starting from taking your order to getting your food to getting the check moves at a turtle pace here. Came here looking for a quick bite for lunch after looking at the lines everywhere else. It took longer waiting here for food than standing in line anywhere else. Seems like they refuse to hire enough people to wait tables. I’d skip it if you want a quick lunch.

A group of 10 walks into a restaurant, no reservation, on a Sunday night. What does a normal restaurant do? Probably ask us to wait, or tell us we have to call ahead. What does Siam Royal do? Let us have seats, bring us water, and take a solid hour after we order to bring food to our table. Now I understand that we were unprepared and somewhat silly for entering on such short notice, but it is interesting how this restaurant is run. Even the takeout and DoorDash delivery line was very long while the seated patrons seemed peripheral. Siam Royal’s focus on the takeout business may very well be a smart business move, but in that case it should downsize its sit-in model, not just push it under the figurative«rug» and allow it to fester as a reminder of days past. In terms of the actual food, though, pretty decent, which is why I’m giving this 2⁄5 overall. The cashews were definitely the highlight of my cashew nut chicken($ 9.25) — roasted nicely, not too salty — and the chicken was tender and not dry. A lot of fresh onions and peppers accompanied. Could have used more seasoning, but it was a clean and light dish. My sticky rice also could have used a sweeter palate, but nonetheless at $ 1.50 it was a decently-sized portion of standard sticky rice. tldr: Needs to re-evaluate priorities when it comes to service. Decent Thai cuisine with standard dishes.

Great service, food was delivered to our table in under 10 minutes. We ordered the shrimp rolls(recommended), chicken pot stickers(delicious), green curry roti, drunken noodles, beef broccoli and bbq lamb… everything was so, so good!!!

This would’ve been a 3 star if the wait wasn’t forever during lunch! Lucky for us, we came at 11:55am, beating most of the crowd. Highly recommending anyone thinking of trying this place to arrive BEFORE noon for lunch. After a 15 min wait we ordered. Then we waited 20 minutes for food. The restaurant was packed by then. The paying portion took another 15 minutes. But I felt sorry for the customer who sat at the next table who came 10 minutes behind us but only got her stir-fry dish as we were trying to get the bill! Hmmmm… so much for hour-long lunch. Food is average. The pad-siew was good especially when they gave me, upon my request for spicy, authentic spicy(not the wash down version because we are not in Thailand type of spicy). The Panang curry is so-so mainly because the coconut flavor pretty much overwhelmed the dish. The location is convenient enough in the middle of the bustling of downtown Palo Alto. Although parking can be a pain if you attempt between 12:15pm to 12:45pm.

This place is between ¾ stars. The food is good, location good, the service not quite as good, but not horrible. This location is on University Ave which is always pretty busy, if there is no street parking, there is free parking available in the parking structures. The décor and restaurant itself is very nice, and clean. Be sure to check out the lunch menu for reduced prices. I haven’t eaten Thai food in the area before, but according to my eating partners(who have eaten it quite a bit), the standards of this place are pretty high food wise. We started off with the Tom Yum soup which is served in a heated metal serving bowl. As our meat in the soup we chose chicken, it also had mushrooms and onions in the soup. The soup was flavorful, and had a spicy kick, perfect for a cool day. Our second appetizer was shrimp rolls, which was basically shrimp with an egg roll she’ll around it, nothing else inside, and a sweet sauce on the side. The drunken noodles(with chicken) and pad Thai(with chicken) were both flavorful and tasty, but were over cooked, which made the noodles too soft, almost like a mush. The red snapper, which was battered and deep fried with a red brownish sauce on top was surprisingly delicious and cooked to perfection. Egg plant dish with tofu instead of chicken was also very good, but beware that this egg plant is not deep fried so the texture is very soft, but tasty! And finally, the service. The woman who served us was pretty rude. It was relatively empty for lunch, I truly believe this place would be crowded if the service was better. When I asked her to bring the soup out first because we were all sharing, she snapped at me that the soup and shrimp always come out first. Which the only reason that I specified was because the soup was in the lunch section with all of the other entrées. She dropped our check off with an attitude and walked off. And we all noticed that when a family of white people came in and she threw a huge smile on her face and all of a sudden got super friendly. Not to play the race card, but hey, call ‘em like you see ‘em. Not a huge deal, and I wouldn’t mind going back for the food.

Decent Thai food on University Ave. I would pass on the mixed vegetables. The pad kee mao was pretty good.

Never again. 50 minute wait for substandard food and no one even bothered checking on us. People who came after us got served first and even left before we even got food on our table. The food was ok but not at all up to standard for Thai food. Location is good but doesn’t make up for the agonizing wait.

I came here for dinner with friends on a Wednesday night, and the place was pretty empty. I love Thai food, but this just didn’t hit the spot for me. We ordered the spicy tofu, which is deep fried tofu with a hot sauce on top, and basil tofu and vegetables. Both of the dishes were okay, but nothing too special. I’m really not a fan of fried tofu, and this one seemed refried– not a fan. I’m very partial to Thai Basil and Racha in Berkeley, so my standards are very high for Thai food :) Would I come back? It’s one of the only Thai options in the area, so I’ll try it again.

As I’m sitting down I’m noticing how traditional this restaurant feels and looks with it’s Thai art on the walls, fabric style table cloths, traditional uniforms worn by the employees, etc. The place is spacious with a good amount of seating. The restaurant can have more light though I should say. It’s pretty dark in here with dim lighting. I’m currently smelling roasted peanuts and chili in the air. It’s something so great! I ordered their pad see ew which is mind blowing. The best I’ve had so far from the Thai places I’ve been to. Their noodles are nicely pan fried with the sauce being smothered all over the place. The chicken is cooked to perfection; tender and moist. The egg is distributed properly with lots of it and that’s how I like it! For $ 10 this is a great steal! Love it! I’ve got to come back for more!

I came here for the first time last week for a weekday dinner with the bf. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken and the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with pork. I got my Pad Thai spicy– I’m not sure if this was a good choice, since the noodles came out very greasy with spicy oil. Meat(both the chicken and pork) was a weird texture, almost like fake meat or seitan/tofu/soy chicken. Perhaps it was frozen beforehand. Portions are pretty large for the price– I had leftovers for lunch. The Tom Yum Noodle soup was also mediocre, with a tomato flavor. I would prefer more of sour and spicy kick in it. Service was also slow and lacking, despite only have a few customers at 8 pm.

We were quite a large group of 12, trying to find a place for dinner on University Avenue on a Friday night. These guys were the only ones who were willing to take us in without a wait. Feeling a tad bit apprehensive, we walked in. The food was surprisingly good! We ordered a variety of dishes and nothing disappointed us! The green curry fried rice was delicious as was the Basil chicken and Pad Thai. Definitely recommend!

I don’t know dude. I like Thai food, and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever eaten here. But nothing really blew me away. Also they don’t really give you multiple options for spice level, which I know some of my Thai friends really value highly. I mean, everything tastes like decent Thai food. Pad thai was enjoyable, and I like the papaya salad and the three or four curries I’ve had here. But some of it’s a bit more expensive than others, and sometimes I’m not sure if it’s worth it to pay for a duck curry myself. Drinks were good, lulz — they’re all $ 6.50. Service is a bit inconsistent too. Guy was super nice, but totally misheard my «papaya salad» as «pad thai», even though he repeated the phrase salad to me. Also refilling water took forever, and we had a bit of a lull before getting the check on multiple occasions. Eating here is pretty solid though. Pretty wide variety of menu options here, and if you just want Thai food in general you’ll get your fix here.

Abgesehen davon, dass der Ventilator und die Klimaanlage das Essen schön gekühlt haben, war der Geschmack eigentlich ganz lecker. Angenehmes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.
