I’ve since been back a couple times for various services and continue to be impressed. Erin in the front office is great — personable and knowledgable. It seems like their business is growing, so I’m encouraged that they will last a long time in Paradise. Definitely recommended if you are looking for honest, fair car repair

Had our vehicle towed here by USAA for a starter issue. We asked right up front if it was a starter or the fly wheel and we were told that it was just the starter. We were offered a new or refurbished replacement.
After they removed it they told us several different stories about it. First it broke when they removed it, then it was supposedly welded and they could repair it but it would be unconventional, then they could see it was broken before they ever removed it and supposedly warned us to begin with. etc. The story was always different depending on who you talked to.
After THREE weeks, we called to find out what was going on, and they claimed it was never the starter, that it was flywheel all along. That the engine was destroyed and they would have to replace the whole engine.
For those who don’t know, to get to the flywheel, you need to drop the transmission They apparently never even looked at this, despite assuring us it was not the flywheel but the starter. The starter shouldn’t normally have had anything to do with the engine and it shouldn’t have taken them 3 weeks to figure out that it was the flywheel instead.
They said to come take a look at the broken pieces of the starter and how it was welded onto something on the engine block. I got frustrated with the changing stories. We’d asked them to check the flywheel in the first place after all and they yelled at us and told us to just have it towed away, they were refusing to work on it further.
Then, when we set up a new tow to take it to someone else and asked them to bag everything up, they then claimed not to have any of the broken pieces to bag up. Standard practice is to always keep the core until the vehicle is complete and allow the owner to decide whether to keep the old part or to send it back. Yet, somehow, despite not having the part, they miraculously produced a photo of the old part, which they did not inform us of previously on the phone. We were informed by the new shop that it was on the front seat when the car arrived.
Then we found out that the NEW re-​manufactured starter Precision had put in was BAD in the first place and that they had NEVER checked the flywheel, because parts of the previous original starter fell off when the cover was taken off to inspect it. It was fine. The engine was fine. The starter was toast.
We don’t know if this is an issue with the mechanic or the owner but there is something hinky going on. Three weeks is far too long for any starter related issue, irregardless. In any case, they said they wouldn’t charge us for the whole three week long mess. We will never take a vehicle to this company again and advise you be very cautious of them as well.

At some point you’ll need a mechanic and this is the place to go in Paradise. Honest, knowledgeable, keep you informed. Why can’t all shops be this way? I highly recommend these guys Mike and Donovan and Erin at the front desk!

Had a pretty complex issue on my bmw. I know you guys tried and are great with the bmw basic issues. Ended up taking it to a specialist in the end.

The owner Mike and his wife Erin are both super chill.
I did not actually have any work done by them and even though I tried to pay them for their time talking with me both at their shop and by email, they said it is OK.
So we had a tight schedule to get my ’74 K5 up and running after more or less 15 years sitting. In one week, it needed to be reliable, drivable, and as my wife says, enjoyable.
I ended up doing the work myself but Mike answered questions by email; I sent him a picture of a wheel bearing and he called it as toast, mandatory replace. Details like that, I don’t know 100%, I just turn wrenches and change parts. And Erin scheduled us in but I missed the appointment. Fabricating a mount for some 2009 suburban back seats took an extra day.
With Mike’s advice and instructions, the blazer is now super nice to drive. My kids love it — the baby used to cry every car trip. Now she immediately goes to sleep to the drone of dual flowmasters. And if I can figure out how to make a Muncie SM465 4 spd enjoyable for my wife to clutch and up/​down shift on a hill in bay area road rage rush hour traffic — then it will have meet all her criteria.
Shops like this are how they used to be.

I took my vw beetle in to have the brakes done and have a water line repaired. Erin and Mike are awesome. They are both very friendly and made me feel confident about bringing them my business– which I will continue to do. The repairs were completed quickly and at a fair price. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone with a european car, Mike really knows his stuff!

Brought in our Acura MDX because the air conditioning was petering out (amidst a heat wave!). We were leaving on a road trip and needed it fixed ASAP. The other reviewers were exactly right in regards to Precision and their willingness to work with you regarding your financial needs. Very honest, friendly and helpful on the phone and fast service. Our air conditioning was fixed in a few hours, with pick up and drop off services. I highly recommend Precision Auto Werks and definitely plan to come here for all of my car needs.

Took my hooptie in when I was on my way back from Oregon. Great customer service and the detail to the explanation of what was wrong with my car was exceptional. If I lived in the area, I would definitely use Precision Auto Werks again.

I brought in my 03 Honda Odyssey in for repair.
I live on the «outskirts» of town so often my biggest challenge is getting ride home when my car is needed for longer than I can wait.
Erin was very happy to bring me home and arrange for pick up when car was finished.
Top that off with Mike being very friendly and informative and honest when it comes to repairs. He took his time when explaining my needed repairs.
He also was not quick to charge me for repairs that were not necessarily needed on a 200,000 +mile car. (front end noise)
Very honest and awesome shop!
I will recommend to everyone I know that needs a mechanic.
PS. I had a terrible experience when I had this same car in for repairs at ANOTHER shop and they were doing a service I asked them if they could pop a lightbulb in front headlight (I provided bulb) they charged my $ 30 to install headlight bulb. Last time I went to that shop. Probably took them all of 3 minutes… I just could not unattach a clip to get in there…
Good service is hard to come by and Precision Auto Werks knows customer service!

Mike is awesome. He will take the time to explain what needs to be done and why. He has a honest and friendly demeanor and tries his best to help the car owner make the best decision while balancing financial issues with car issues.
