I was actually leaving Garden State Plaza when I sporadically called to see if they might possibly have an opening for a cut– and they did! AND I got Alma who after a quick peek at the reviews I was actually crossing my fingers for! Anyway Alma was extremely sweet. She listened intently to me describing my desired cut, and then she asked questions to make sure we were on the same page. She did the cut and started blowing, and at that point I was a little iffy– it seems that stylists are always afraid to cut too much off… But to my surprise, she did a ton more texturizing after my hair was fully dry– which I absolutely LOVE! In my years I’ve learned that only experienced stylists who OWN what they’re doing do dry cuts… And of course it came out awesome! I would definitely recommend Alma to my friends and to anyone who is looking for a stylist that they want to keep going back to :)

Great Salon, very friendly and wonderful ambiance. Karina was my colorist and she did an amazing job with my baylage highlights and color correction. I came in with reddish brown hair from a bottle and she was able to transform my hair into a wonderful brown with caramel. I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend my friends and family to go David Alan Salon.

I had my hair done at this salon by Alma, and I couldn’t be happier! She is great with color and styling. She transformed my hair by correcting the color and fixing the cut so my hair didn’t look choppy. I recommend her to everyone! She was very patient and took the time to ensure I would like my new style. The salon is also very clean, and the staff is very friendly. This is a high quality salon and very reasonably priced.

Karina did my color yesterday! She is amazing. Color is perfect !! This was first time going to her and she did exactly what I wanted I highly recommend David Alan Salon and Karina as your colorist !

Visited David Alan’s Salon yesterday in Paramus and had such a great time!
First I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist and offered some refreshments while I waited. Than I met the hair stylist whose name was Alma, before we proceeded she asked about my hair history and explained to me the different things we could do and how things would react to my hair based on my past history. Very informative. Couple hours later. I left with the most beautiful haircut/​color I’ve ever had! I was super impressed with the quality and thought overall for the service I got the price was fantastic! I went for a balayage with some long layers and I feel like I’m a new me. Thank you so much to the staff at David Alan’s salon! I’ll definitely be returning!

David has one of the nastiest attitudes ever. He has horrible customer service skills. I don’t even think has ears because he can’t listen. He talks over you. I went in and he was having a meeting with his staff about making more money in from t of everyone. He was being rude to me and talking over me when I tried to ask him important questions about my hair. He is unreasonable, please avoid this salon and go else where. He took my review down or flagged it the first time. David hung up on me when I called to confirm my appointment. What a joke. I don’t know how I needed up there in the first place. I ended up going somewhere else. The lady who answers the phone is a nice, but he needs to step off the salon floor. don’t see how the is still in business. Never returning here again.

I had an early morning appointment, and the salon was quiet and clean.
David gave me a great cut. He was quite chatty, and during our convo offered me a few pointers that I hadn’t ever heard before (and I’ve been going to salons regularly for 20 years).
My colorist Edyta persuaded me to try balayage, instead of my usual highlights… and I loved the outcome. Very natural looking, and more subtle when new growth comes in.
I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Love the way my new highlights with color look Edyta did a great job with the different layer highlight live it… Jessie is a great stylist knows how to cut your hair and what fits your face… My sister and I are very happy with our results.

It was my first time getting a haircut here and I had an awesome experience. Fredi is the best. Made sure he cut it the way I wanted and also recommended ways to well keep my hair. Definitely would recommend this place!

I’m a regular at David Alan Salon, driving there at least 7 times a year from Westchester (NY) for about 6 years now. My hair is curly so I am VERY selective about who does my hair. David is my stylist, Edyta is my colorist, and I always leave looking and feeling beautiful. I have also had a makeup application for a special event by Sonya, who is so nice and also great at what she does. Cynthia at the front desk is the sweetest and always professional. Recently I talked my mom into dropping her former stylist and coming here instead. She’s been here 3 times now (haircut by Sherrie), and her hair never looked as good before! The only reason I left off one star is because the washing stations need new chairs. Once that happens, I’ll add the final star :)

Not only is the environment clean and well kept you can tell the employees truly care about customer feedback and satisfaction. Although I can not remember my stylists name she was wonderful and knew how to work with my hair type. I often find myself unhappy with the results at previous salons, but I was truly happy with how my hair cut and style turned out. I’m usually very anal about hair salons but this salon is now my go to. Highly recommend.

I visited this salon on January 20^th 2015. I loved it. The staff was warm and friendly and. My cut and color was awesome. I am definitely a fan and I highly recommend this salon.

When I walked in to the salon, David was holding a meeting with his staff about how to make more money and who they should market to. Apparently they have plans to market to Whole Foods since their customers are thought to be RICH and David threw in some sort of anecdote about Sir Richard Branson. I found it odd that they had this meeting out in the open and I could easily hear everything. I was then seen late for my 10:45am appointment, which had already been pushed back from 10am.
I got the LivingSocial voucher for face framing highlights or single process color as well as a haircut. I like the cut, I’m not crazy about the color. I had gotten highlights in the past as well as single process and I haven’t always thought that highlights were dramatic enough for the results I wanted. I explained this to the stylist and she suggested highlights. She then suggested I should get a full head of highlights, which would be an additional $ 100. I decided to just stick with the face framing and the highlights seem almost gray/​white to me against light brown hair. When I said this to the stylist she responded «Gray?!» I wasn’t sure if it was the lighting but I still think it looks off. I also didn’t find the customer service to be that great. The stylist was seeing someone else at the same time so I had to sit around with a wet head while she finished their blowout.

Went on 3÷7÷2015 for a haircut and was truly SURPRISED and DELIGHTED by the staff, but mostly by my stylist, Trish.
I’ d had never been here before and I have to say, I will absolutely return.
The entire salon staff is warm and friendly. I was served a mimosa while I waited — added bonus! But at the end of the day, Trish is the reason I will be returning. She is a gem!
I have naturally curly hair that I straighten, flat iron, and highlight — so my hair was not in the best shape. Trish knew exactly what my hair needed. Gave me the most amazing haircut — my hair has LIFE again and suggested a product that made my hair feel like silk (was not pushy about products at all).
I’m not a fan of trying new salons but check this one out and ask for TRISH. She is truly amazing!!! I’ll be going back for Keratin before the summer!

I was introduced to Davids from Living Social and was hesistant from going by reading the reviews on this store.
But as soon as I arrived, my worries dissappeared. I was welcomed by the staffs with nice drink and a form to fill out for my hair. (The form was for the salon to customize the products properly) **Great idea**
Then I met Ilanic, a stylist I’d personally recommend everyone, and she made sure the cut was just the way I’d like! (She’s the friend to call for any hair tips)
Overall, Davids’ is a salon filled with youth, friendly atmosphere customed for you!

I called to make an appointment and had the pleasure of talking to David Alan himself.
I look forward to getting a nice cut, blow out and highlights. I will write another review once I go to my appointment.

I came here after i heard about it from a friend and i got a haircut and blowout. I was a little sceptic cause some of their reviews are not the best but I had a great experience!
My hairstylist was Ilanit and I loooved her work. I got so many compliments after that so I would recommend her to anyone. She asked a lot of questions to make sure I get what I want and gave me advice about my hair in general. I was welcomed in really nice, they offer coffee and tea and i was very pleased with their service. I’m back for a blowout and I’m sure I’ll be back here when it’s time for my next haicut.

First time here. Parking is easy. Was greeted nicely by front desk lady. Nice décor. But the highlight of this place is Ilanit! Nice, caring, professional and knows what she is doing! Definitely coming back!
