A very mediocre experience. Just a scoop of ice cream that wasn’t very creamy, but was icy. So so flavor too

Cute store with full of sweet goods. Cookies and macaroons are decent, their crepes are just so so… Food presentations are better than taste. I bought pretty cakes and ice cream cakes for different occasions but didn’t impress me at all. Maybe getting some candy goods, I’ll drop by. But no more foods or cakes.

This review is for the macaroons only.
My cousin and I tried the pistachio, coffee, and one vanilla. Overall they consistency was good and the flavor was definitely there. However I wish that they would have more flavors. I’m a macaroon snob and am always looking for a new flavor to rave about.
Overall a cute and well-​themed dessert shop.
If you are ever in the Los Angeles area, a stop by ‘Lette is a must. Their «Sweet Almond Wedding» is my all time favorite.

Wow I love sweets and this place definitely delivers. I’ma big fan of the foot long hotdog and the bacon milkshake. The burger is also really delicious as are the chocolate bars on sale. However, this store seems too high end to be in an outlet mall in NJ. Maybe they should move it to Short Hills.

Very cute spot in the mall. I must say their ginger cookie is amazing and their almond croissant is pretty good too! The lattes are pretty Average and the prices are very reasonable. I do feel they should have a little more seating room for this who aren’t getting table service. I will say I haven’t tried any of their creeps or savory meals but their pastries and coffee are great!

YThis place is really cute however the food is pretty bad considering it’s very pricy ($ 5 for a side order of 3 pickles!). The «hot chocolate» milkshake was served with 2 burnt & 5 rubbery mini marshmallows, for $ 7 it should have been great but it wasn’t. To top it off I took home French macaroons, raspberry flavor, that were so stale I couldn’t eat them! It’s a shame because like I said the place is really cute.

Employees here are incredibly incompetent and rude.
Last time, they got my order wrong three times and they threw out half a gallon of ice cream in the process. I just wanted two scoops of gelato. Then they tried to charge me triple the amount I was supposed to pay. I had to get the manager to resolve the issue, although he wasn’t much help either. I think it’s pretty safe to say he’s the one in charge of «training» the staff. The three times I’ve been here, I’ve seen him literally counting his money at the counter.
Today, my friend asked for the mango gelato. The cashier wrinkled her face before saying, «Ummmm, there is no mango on our menu.» That’s funny because mango IS on the menu. My other friend asked for the Black & White shake. At first, the cashier didn’t know what it was. Then she told him, «We probably don’t have enough chocolate syrup for that.» So he changed his order and we all sat down at the one table at which we were allowed to sit. A few seconds later, we overheard another employee tell the cashier that they actually had a lot of chocolate syrup. The cashier’s response? «I know.»
What.
Avoid the headache and go somewhere else for your sweet tooth fix. However, if you MUST go and experience it for yourself, look out for the the short girl with brown hair and black glasses (the cashier in the aforementioned story). She’ll probably be on her phone. There’s also a tall, blonde girl to whom you would have to repeat your order two, three, or four times. If they’re both busy pretending to look busy, look for the high school kid with short, black hair. He’ll look terrified at the sight of customers, but he’ll take your order.
Two thumbs up to the man who warmly greets everyone at the door (candy side of the establishment) and offers assistance. He’s the only one who belongs here.

I never write a review while still siting at the table unless its an utter disappointment — which this clearly was.
Obviously anyone who has given this location greater than 2 stars really needs to get out more. Further you need your Unilocal ID closed.
Service — negatives aren’t an option which this one classifies as needing. A waiter was manning the hostess desk and while there were numerous tables and booths available he couldn’t figure out where to put us and asked me where I’d like to go. I’m sorry you can ask me a preference not where I’d like to go. Further the tables are all jumbled together, no one can walk around them.
Second the waiter for our table was new or an idiot. I tend to side with idiot, crass and downright rude. If I am sitting with my daughter and my hubby, and you ask my hubby for his drink order first that’s a No no in my book.
Second when ordering the meal I give him my daughters order, and he immediately asks my hubby for his order. Didn’t think of taking mine until he was about to walk away.
Third — the food. Looks great. Looks like fine dining. Looks are books you know what they say.
My daughter had the sliders for kids. The burger patty was lost in the mini brioche.
Hubby had grilled cheese with bacon. Regular bread nothing fancy at all. Quite disappointing.
I had salmon Benedict. Salmon tasted good and cold.
Eggs — barely room temperature
Rest of my dish — cold.
I don’t care for eggs Benedict cold
Now as I sit here and have written this entire review on my iPhone — I am still waiting for the bill. Oh yes at least 10 minutes of waiting.
So all in all cute concept but what an extreme disappointment.

Kind of surprised by the great reviews… My boyfriend and I went for brunch on a Saturday a month or so ago; we had visited the treats shop side a couple of times already. When we asked to be seated, the guy at the desk looked at us like a dear in headlights (new, maybe?) even though we could clearly see a table section open.
Before we even ordered we should have known what we were in for when the women next to us we’re complaining and waiting a very long time to get the check and finish payment (btw, during their wait to leave I clearly saw the manager turn away a guest because they were «full»…).
Now the food… It was OK at best. Definitely not worth the price since both of our dishes were barely warm (pancakes, eggs, waffles). Ironically, when the manager served us (due to what seemed like low staff and everyone seeming new) he seemed to chastise me that the plate was hot, which it was anything but, because I tried to prevent it from falling on me since it looked unsteady. I also find it laughable that you’re charging x amount of dollars for «Ricotta Pancakes». They are REGULAR pancakes with a small scoop of Ricotta on top (–_​-​). A family on the other side of us also questioned their plate of chicken & waffles (waffles were tiny).
We finished our meal, paid, and left a decent tip for the servers. Despite the food, she was very sweet.
Honestly, even their shop side seems to be going down in quality as well. Whenever we have gotten something baked (cookie, brownie) a few times since that brunch experience, it doesn’t seem as fresh, stale even.

If you like over priced low quality food and then being told that even though no one else is in the store (probably a hint) that you can’t sit down cause your 15 dollar crêpe and ice cream doesn’t get you a seat at the 15 tables and booths in the joint sounds like fun this place is for you.
If I had the choice of having a vasectomy or come back to Sugar Plumm I would chose the vasectomy.

No doubt this store is super cute.
So much to see and want this is any kids or suagr addicts dream!
After your usual mix your own bag and fun novelty and gag gifts they have a beautiful bakery and little restaurant.
I wanted everything but they prices are pretty steep so I just got a almond croissant since they just put them out fresh and they were huge and tasty looking.
It was $ 3.95 which is pretty pricey but it was very good.
We wanted to sit down to enjoy it when the waitress came and said we needed to order more to sit there so I asked for a menu.
She kept bugging us to order something and after telling her for the third time to give us a minute we got up and left.
We were the only ones in there and they had about 20 tables I don’t get why we couldn’t sit in peace for a minute and enjoy our snack.
The high prices mixed with rude service keeps me from wanting to go back.
Otherwise very cute.

We were greeted promptly and seated in the dining area. Our waitress arrived quickly and took our drink order and returned quickly with them. For food I had the chicken and waffles which were delicious. The waffles were amazing fluffy and sweet. Although for those that like a traditional chicken breast this is made with crispy chicken fingers instead. My girlfriend had the chicken fingers which she said was also very good. For dessert I had the bacon and waffle milkshake which is a vanilla milkshake with a piece of cinnamin waffle and a caramel coated piece of bacon. It was great. Although if you take out the crazyness of the bacon its just a normal vanilla shake. My girlfriend had the banana split which was huge. It is definitley not something you should eat alone as my girlfriend learned.
All in all the food was great, service was great, and the décor of the place is wonderful. A very nice change of pace from the usual and not too expensive either. Will be returning again very soon!

This review is for the ambiance, my experience with service, and the Rocky Road Cookie!
You walk into this place, and immediately you’re transported into your fantasy Candyland. The word «whimsical» is definitely spot on if you’re talking about Sugar & Plumm. It’s super light, airy, colorful, and fun — but in a way that’s appealing to both adults and kids. They have a decent selection of chocolate, truffles, macaroons, cakes, cookies, and other goodies. I walked down further and saw they even had gelato and sorbet. Even further, to my surprise, was a crêpe + waffle station! They have both sweet + savory options for both. And then on the walls they have an insane assortment of candy and things. Sweetness everywhere! A nice touch I thought was they have a seating area for those ordering sweets, even if it’s just a pick-​up and go kind of thing. Then there’s a separate seating area for those looking to enjoy crepes + waffles.
On this first visit, I only had the privilege of tasting one type of cookie. Let me preface this by saying I am by NO means a dessert person (well, with the exception of ice cream and cupcakes on occasion). I was in the mood for a cookie and couldn’t decide, but with the help/​chiming in of staff… I made the best choice. The staff was so cute. One girl was directly helping me, the girl next to her overheard me debating between Rocky Road and other cookies… then they asked who I believe to be their manager about it… and the consensus was to definitely go for the Rocky Road Cookie.
The Rocky Road is not just any cookie. It’s the mother of all things Rocky Road. My goodness. I asked them if it was crunchy because I don’t like crunchy cookies that just crumble. This was just the opposite. Yes, it has a super thin crisp on the bottom and slightly around the perimeter; however, the inside (especially the middle) is a perfect balance of moistness, richness, and sweetness. Perfect distribution of ingredients, too. I’m sure the marshmallow adds to the moistness, but I’m happily surprised that it’s not overly sweet (like Rocky Road ice cream sometimes is). This is SO good, and totally worth my $ 3.50. I ate half, got full, and totally just spoiled my lunch… but I don’t care!
4 stars for now since I only tasted one thing (but this cookie totally deserves 5 stars). My next visit, I promise to try a sweet and/​or savory crêpe or waffle. I’m sure I’ll have another 5 star thing to rave about.

It’s undeniably cute with fluffy cotton clouds on the ceiling and plump couches for comfortable seating.
Food was great! I got the pulled pork and waffles and it was DELICIOUS! perfect combo of salty and sweet with the pulled pork and maple syrup.
I went another time and got dulce de leche ice cream and a choice of 4 macarons. The ice cream did not disappoint, but the macarons were a BUST. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the macarons… they were sticky on the inside and were not fluffy like the cloud decorations.
Service is MEH… could be better. It took a while for me to flag down somebody for a water re-​fill. Also, the fries, although very delicious, took FOREVER to come out. My friend and I were done with our food when the fries came out.
So, say NO to macarons here, but YES to the décor and food.

I absolutely adored Sugar and Plumm! It’s every diabetic’s nightmare and every child’s dream. If Michael Jackson were alive, I’m sure this would have been one of his favorite weekend hangouts if he took up residence in Jersey.
Located within the Bergen Town Center mall, this family friendly shop offers delectable treats as well as cook books and party kits perfect for kiddy celebrations.
Regarding the sweets, there are endless goodies to choose from:

Crepes
Ice cream
Candy
Fine chocolates
Sundaes
Milkshakes
Maltshakes
Floats
… and the list goes on.
Anything and everything that could induce a sugar high or coma can be found here. Now if only they were opened late at night… then the real fun would begin.

I feel like I have a sugar attack the moment that I walk through the door. This is probably a kid’s dreamland, but it was a bit overwhelming for my liking.
Desserts are behind glassed-​in displays and they have just about everything you can imagine. For those who may feel overwhelmed by the pure sugar environment, they have little mini-​cakes and desserts that are manageable. Their pistachio macaron was not that good, feel like they have been out for a VERY long time. They also had this mini-​chocolate cake that I ordered, but I am forgetting the name of it at the current time. Has a chewy, nutty layered bottom that reminded me a bit of a mashed up Snickers bar.
Prices aren’t too bad at all. My two mini bite-​sized desserts totaled $ 3.50 and I was quite satisfied. They’re good if you’re at Bergen Town Center because they are the only option (that I know of) for desserts and sweets, but they aren’t the best dessert I’ve ever had.

If marketing was everything, Sugar and Plumm would have it all in the name alone. But it’s not and you could not pay me to subject myself to their incompetence again.
I ordered a cake for my husband’s birthday. I requested they go easy on the butter cream and add more cake. We like our cake. I was told this was no problem, but I may be charged more for the additional cake. So, the $ 35-​$ 40 cake becomes a $ 60 cake. No problem, it’s his birthday after all. Except when we cut into it, we were looking at a total of about 3 inches of cake and 6 inches of butter cream. The opposite of what I ordered.
Not the end of the world, people make mistakes, right? The folks in the store were very apologetic and promised someone would follow up with us about making it right. After about a week, having received no response, I finally manage to track down the retail buyer who thought someone had already dealt with me. She then offers an explanation of the necessity of butter cream so the cake can travel and why my request was completely ignored in lieu of whatever the pastry chef felt like doing. It was all with us in mind. I was not buying it, but then she also offered to replace the cake with another for an upcoming event. I’m all about second chances, so sure.
How did that go? We show up at the store only to find that no one knew anything about the replacement and there was no cake in the store. To accommodate us, they offered us 6″ round cake from the display window. I would have been happier if they just offered to refund the extra I had paid for the special order cake in the first place without getting my hopes up again.
I was completely disappointed not only in their product, but also in their service and will certainly never shop there again.

This was my first time here and I was impressed. The ham & swiss cheese crêpe was delicious. My hot chocolate was the right mixture of creamy chocolateness and milk. It wasn’t overly sweet or bitter.
You can sit down at the communal tables or in the formal dining area. Since we were in a hurry, we sat at the communal table and devoured our crepes like they were the last delicious goodness on Earth.
Will definitely come back here again.

Pretty neat place in the mall. Its like a kid in a candy store feel to it. GF and I got the nutella and banana crêpe. It was too sweet for me but still good. We could not finish because it was so rich. I’d come back again with same GF hopefully ;P

This place is a sweet tooth’s dream. Seriously its like you are warped into another world that is so whimsical and bright.
If you enter through the mall your first stop is the colorful candy area. They have walls of candy that you can buy by weight or pre-​packaged. Walk further in and you will be in front of the take out counter featuring their ice cream display. Towards the back (parking lot side) is their dining area. The ceiling has floating clouds!
They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and my fav dessert. My sister and I were there for just dessert and split a lemon, butter, sugar crêpe. Tart, sweet and crisp just the way I like it. They offer illy coffee which I had cup of.
The service was a little off during our stay. The server asked if we wanted to keep the menu for dessert but all we ordered was dessert. She came back to ask me twice what milk I had ordered for my coffee. And when the crêpe came out she punched in butter and sugar crêpe by accident and it had to be sent back. Since they are minor glitches I will look past them since I did go during their second week of opening.
I am a fan of dessert and I do frequently stop by bergen town center so this will definitely be a regular stop for me.
