Residence Inn Parsippany

Front desk clerk was genuinely friendly. There’s something reassuring about interacting with nice people when you’re on the road a lot. She was great!
The room smelled a little like cigarettes. Luckily I could open the windows (not an option in all hotels) and let in the fresh, spring air. Shower was… meh. Decent water pressure, but the nozzle was clogged and shot a single jet of water in my face. The bed was comfy & clean. Fitness room had the standard offerings (treadmills, elliptical, free weights). The room itself needed better air circulation — it was stuffy in there.
What frosted me was getting a knock on the door from housekeeping when I had the «Do Not Disturb» sign on the door. The person wanted to know when I was leaving. Checkout time is noon at this particular hotel. She knocked at 10:50. I assured her that I would be leaving before checkout. She said, «well, some people end up staying later than noon.» Well, I agree that it would be inconvenient. I was just trying to get some work done in a quiet room — a room I had until noon — before heading to the airport.

They have a game room with a pool table and air hockey that made my kids day! We have been traveling for a week and they needed a place to hang out that was affordable (free). Thanks Residence Inn!
Rooms and breakfast were as expected from this type of hotel.

My stay was good came in on superbowl sunday so they had a nice gathering spot to watch that. the room was good but not connected to the main building which is kind of a bummer when you want to get the breakfast when it’s snowing. Also not to many restaurants in the area and the cleaning schedule was a little bit weird (they took a count of your door sign at 05:00am)

My wife and kids along with our friends and their kids stayed overnight for a weekend staycation here last Saturday night (5 Dec). Friendly staff just starts off the good time we had. We wanted the kids (and me, who am I kidding), to be able to go swimming and have a good night away from home. Our room was clean and we reserved a one bedroom suite and the kids shared the pull out bed. Our queen sized bed was very comfy and we had a flat screen TV in our room as well as having one in the living room. The kitchen area was big and you can really live in this room for an extended time if need be. The pool was very clean and the Jacuzzi just hit the spot on my old tired bones lol… We swam for a long time, and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Our friends even ordered Pizza and it was delivered to the pool area… They also have a nice sized fitness center with various machines to get your fitness on. Breakfast was included and it was for the free! Clean area to eat and one of the staff even brought us OJ to our table, nice touch :-) Food was hot and hit the spot — and it was free, so you can’t complain about anything when it’s free. Go to a restaurant and pay, then you can complain on the quality of the food. And this food wasn’t all that bad for being free. The Waffle maker was a hit for the kids and they also had free Sunday Star Ledgers for the taking.
All in all, a nice experience away from home for the night. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a nightly getaway, relatively close to home.

It’s ok. Wouldn’t recommend though. Kind of out dated. Towels are old and hard. Fitted bed sheets don’t stay on bed. Wallpaper in bathroom makes me a little scared of what mold or mildew is underneath. Room wasn’t tidied up with fresh towels or anything. Had to specifically request. Free breakfast. Not good. But it’s free. Anyway, better places in area for less.

My husband is a platinum elite member of marriott rewards and we have stayed in residence inn for long term at 6 different locations across the US. And I found this one worst of all.
So to begin with,
1. Some of the front desk staff is rude. Also no proper co-​ordination between front desk ppl and other staff (maintenance, house keeping). So if u need anything done it will take like forever!!!
2. Internet is either slow or gets disconnected frequently or something else would definately happen to it.
3. The hot tub was closed for God known reasons during my entire stay of 2 months.
4. Now fitness centre. Don’t expect sanitizer wipes, weighing scale, drinking water in the fitness centre.
We are staying here just because of the kitchennet and proximity to work place. But leaving soon. Can’t take it any more :-(

One of the better maintained properties in the area. I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was too large for just myself. They have a nice fitness center and breakfast. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. A bit less pricey than other similar hotels in the area, but still more expensive than other NJ Residence Inns. The staff was friendly.

We stayed three nights in June 2014.
Pro’s — This is a good location for access to US10 and I-​80. Front desk staff and operator were extremely responsive! Shower and water softness are very good. AC cools quickly, even though it’s a bit drafty.
Con’s — There was a loud compressor noise outside A-​wing. The «Free» internet connection DOES NOT support video streaming. «Free Internet» amounts to false advertising! There’s only one elevator per wing. Laundry room and lobby bathroom were not clean. On our last day, we left the room at 10:30AM having removed the «Do Not Disturb» sign. When we returned at 6:30PM we found that our room HAD NOT been serviced! Since housekeeping was gone for the day (of course), we had to move rooms.
Summary — A hotel with a good location is not always managed well.
Rating — Initial impression was a B-​, but the failure to provide a basic hotel function reduced it to C-.

This is my third year staying here. The hotel was recently remodeled. New gym equipment was added. Rooms are clean, food is good, and staff is great.

This Residence inn could definitely use a remodal, but the staff does a good job. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, but the TV’s are tiny. The thing that kills me about this place is the gym. Considering the size of the place, you think they would have a more sizable gym than two beat up treadmills and a 15 year old spin bike. If you actually want to use the gym at a hotel, go elsewhere.
