Description

Specialties

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in both California (PSY17395) and Massachusetts. My goal is to meet with people and help them achieve growth, meaning and fulfillment as they journey through life. My belief is that this journey is ongoing, and that growth, meaning and fulfillment will continue, take on different forms, change and develop over the course of one’s lifetime.

It is my privilege to join with others on this journey, and my hope that I can provide assistance and guidance as the journey unfolds.

I am also the founder of Illuminated Education which provides educational activities designed for people who are interested in issues related to psychology, healing, and other aspects of human thought, feeling and behavior. History

Established in 2001.

I have been working in the area of mind-body health and healing for over 30 years. My interest in this began as a Biologist teaching Cell Physiology and Human Biology at Wellesley College (1975 – 1983). Because of this interest I began to study psychology at Boston University and completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology at USC (1995). This blend of Biology and Psychology is uniquely suited to a mind-body-spirit approach to health, healing and psychological growth. I provide individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment, consulting, and supervision. Through Illuminated Education, I provide Continuing Education activities. Currently I am certified by the CA BBS to provide CE units to MFTs and LCSWs.

LICENSURE

Psychologist: California: PSY 17 395 (April 2001)

Psychologist: Massachusetts: PY 7896-PR (October, 2001)

My college and university training was in the standard western approach to clinical psychology and biology. I have continued — on my own, with mentors, and with the help of books, conferences and teachers — to broaden my knowledge of humanity, human functioning and healing. This broadening includes recent and current studies in healing methods used by other cultures and in other times. These are often referred to as «alternative ways of healing,» I advocate the use of imagination, yoga, meditation, and dreamwork in personal growth, self-awareness, creativity, and healing.
