Highly recommend this place! I got the restorative massage which is a combo of Swedish and deep tissue with Darrin. He was very warm and welcoming as soon as I stepped in. Offered me tea and water.
At times the massage was incredibly relaxing and at other times, a little painful but in a good way! He really gave me some much needed muscle therapy and detox. I feel incredible now. I will definitely go back again!

OMG… this place is like heaven. I came here for a friend’s bridal spa day with a group of 4, and had purchased one of their deals. I had a massage with hot stones followed by the sound bath. I enjoyed every minute of my time at Cote d’Azur– the staff was so warm and welcoming, and they gave excellent massages. I was skeptical about the sound bath but I actually enjoyed it and found it a nice way to end our spa day.

One of the best massages of my life! My husband purchased a massage for me here with Darren, the owner. The space is gorgeous, down to earth, peaceful, relaxing. It’s more like someone’s lovely, earthy house than a spa. I always pick up on the energy of a space, and this place is calm, centered and safe. The massage room and table was warm and comforting, and I had plenty of time to strip and get comfy. Then Darren went to work. WHOA. I had a combo of deep tissue and Swedish, and he got into spots that I didn’t even know I had. This was not a relaxing massage — it was excruciating at times, and truly felt like a treatment! I was a little light headed afterward, and had a bit of an upset tummy — all good signs of major detoxing! This is a place to go for a true massage, in the deepest and most therapeutic sense of the word. I’ll be back as soon as I can!

Had an awesome Swedish Deep Tissue massage here (as part of Majestic Escape groupon) yesterday with my friend. I usually complain that even the deep tissues I get aren’t deep enough, but Darrin’s expert hands worked my stubborn shoulder knots to pulp! And I loved the hot compresses and cool stone facial! The location is perfect as well — cute house surrounded by lots of plants for that spa feeling. Try it out!

I took my husband last Friday for our anniversary to get an indigo massage. Carolyn and Darrin took good care of us. Carolyn chose the perfect aromatherapy and after the massage we left not only relaxed, but with a great feeling of peacefulness. It was a wonderful experience!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for a few years now for wonderful massages. We average a massage every 6 months or so. There are always great deals on goldstar. We love supporting this place. I just wish they had a sauna since you leave the massage kind of slippery. Haha
UPDATE: It’s still awesome! Darrin has helped my fiancé’s shoulder recoup after his motorcycle crash. Darrin & his wife are so welcoming and hospitable every time we go! :)

I’ve gone to Cote d’Azur since it was in Old Town above the noisy bar and used to get deals on Goldstar (I don’t think they do that anymore). Yesterday was my third (4th?) visit to their new location on Bellevue and Darrin was so absolutely fantastic I knew I would have to write a review. My back had been bugging me and early last week I received their email advertising a 4th of July deal and bought it immediately. Seriously, in the lunch room at work «hold on a sec, I have to get my credit card… I just bought a massage». I emailed to schedule immediately and had no difficulty getting in on Saturday.
I was seen in the front couples room, the same room I had been in on my previous visits. Last time that room was noisy because the neighbors were doing lawn care but this week it was perfectly quiet. Darrin’s massage work is incredible. Probably the best massage I’ve ever had. He worked those hot stones like a champ which never left me feeling like «ahh, someone is balancing hot stones on me!». He has great energy and was very responsive to me talking or being super quiet. Today I feel like I had a fantastic therapeutic massage– a little sore but so awesome. Ok, maybe I just wrote this review so that I would remember to ask for Darrin next time. :)

My husband bought me a massage here as a birthday gift. 2 days later, I’m still feeling great. I believe I had the Restorative Massage along with the cold facial at the end. Honestly, some parts of the massage were a little painful, such as when Darrin pushed super hard on various pressure points. That being said, he was very receptive when I communicated the pain level (and mostly it was very relaxing). For me, it felt kind of like a Thai massage in that it hurts when you get it but then it feels amazing after. This was my first time getting a professional massage by a male, and initially I was a little freaked out but Darrin was extremely professional and felt very safe.

A gem in Pasadena!
I had the most amazing experience today with Carolyn. I took my mother in for an indigo massage and I must say I had one of the best experiences. They were friendly and very attentive to my moms and my needs. She was very genuine and honest about the fact that it wasn’t a Burke Williams type of place. Not to say that those places are bad but if you are looking for spiritual expansion and life balance, this is the place to go. Although my mom only speaks Spanish, Carolyn decreased that barrier with her caring and gentle ways. She was culturally sensitive and made sure to check in with my mother in order to ensure that she was comfortable. Darryn was my masseuse and he was phenomenal. They both made sure to explain things in relation to the aromatherapy and share their expertise with me. I will defiantly be going back and referring friends:).

My visits here are kinda spotty. Here and there I would a get a massage or a facial from Kathleen. For massages, I would always ask for Chris but he’s only there every so often now. Today, I had someone different and glad I did. Had David and he’s really not that bad. Well, he’s a lot better than okay :) but I hafta to say I have still have my favorites at Cote d Azur

Took my mom here for her first official professional massage ever. She loved it! She was so relaxed that she even fell asleep towards the end and started snoring, which was pretty funny. We got the couple’s room, so we were able to get our massages together. I had been here about 2 years earlier, and had a pleasant time then. But this time, my massage was absolutely stellar– top of the line. Hands down, best I’ve ever gotten. Ask for David if you want the best massage of your life!

Had the Indigo with David this morning. It was my first time here so I didn’t know what to expect.
I’m a massage enthusiast and usually choose Thai style because most «spa» massages have been disappointing and twice the cost of Thai. Today’s visit was a birthday gift, so I didn’t know what to expect.
Well, David was nothing short of amazing. This was more of a life transformation than a massage. He gave special attention to my hands and feet, and also to spots on my skull. I actually cried a couple of times.
I am telling all my friends and can’t wait to go back. Thank you, David!
Oh and they have a parking lot in the rear.

Just be aware that this is really more of a massage/​skin treatment center than a «proper» spa. There are no locker rooms, saunas, and darkly-​lit lounges — just a converted two-​story house, decked out in hippie shabby chic, where the rooms have been converted to treatment rooms. Has that slightly-​disorganized but genuinely friendly feel of an indie business.
So being that it’s an old wooden house, the boards creak as people walk by, the rooms are not light-​tight, and sound from outside travels in. As for the massage itsef, I’m no connoisseur but it was fine, especially for the price. I did find the upstairs massage room to be a bit cold and much too bright as well, so I couldn’t fully relax during my treatment. I have to say that this aspect of Cote d’Azur was disappointing. The location doesn’t really provide a deeply relaxing, transportive experience.
Of course, your mileage may vary, but part of why I go to a Western-​style spa rather than any of the local Asian massage places is to get a sense of being secluded and «away» and this doesn’t quite do it for me. At the end of the day, it’s a bit like you’re visiting your really nice (if slightly loopy) hippie relative and she just happens to have all the ingredients for a great home-​made facial growing out back in her organic garden or whatever, lol.
That said, while it’s not my favorite local day spa (dtox is hands down a much nicer facility without sacrificing that personal touch), I think this is very much worth your time and money if you’re looking for a solid alternative to the blandly «luxurious» local chain spas.

I have gone to this location twice. The first time was back in sept/​oct and the second time was yesterday. This place always has deals on gold star. Plus they send me deals through locbox. I think I might’ve given them my email after my first visit to get direct deals from Cote D’Azur.
My first massage was a deal I received on gold star. It was a 55 minute restorative w cold stones along my face at the end. My second massage I purchased from their emails. It was a 55 minute restorative w hot healing packs and foot scrub.
My first masseuse was Toni. I was brought to a room and told to take off whatever I’m comfortable taking off. She gave a great massage and would always ask if the pressure was ok. My second masseuse was … Something unique. Lol. My second masseuse didn’t exactly ask me at all about the pressure. But she did tell me that she felt I was tense and that I hold alot in. *shrugs shoulders*
Like any place, you’ve gotta find YOUR match when it comes to the best massage. At the second massage, the lady left me a towel to wipe off. The first masseuse actually wiped me down after the massage w hot towels.
It’s a two story house they’ve made into a spa. So no amenities.
They have parking on the street and parking behind the house.
And to clarify. It does say take off shoes before entering the house. But it does specify take off noisy shoes ie heels.
The ambience is nice. You feel at home. I bought a third deal w hot stone integration. So will update on that one!

I would not go back to this place. The woman kept talking about which scents are good for pregnant women although I repeatedly told her I was NOT pregnant. And no, I’m not fat so I don’t LOOK pregnant either. She just kept trying to press forward talking about pregnant people. Which was REALLY weird.
The massage itself was ‘meh’. She focused too much on upper arms (?) and it was really cold in the room. I also didn’t like the animal sounds they had in the music.
Also, they have signs everywhere about taking off your shoes but the employees had shoes on. So what is it, on or off?
I got a bad vibe from the place and nasty looks from another employee because of the communication issue I was having with the foolish young girl about the fact that I AM NOT PREGNANT. SO weird, never going back.
