Johanna Ho Acupuncture

Those that are familiar with my reviews know I have a pattern To my reviews which helps deliver the consistency you expect from my reviews. Those regarding clinicians or care givers are somewhat different of course. The elements I will address for Johanna are Expertise, Operations, Ambiance.
Expertise
Well, my mouth was kinda hanging open the whole over 90 minutes we were with Johanna who clearly knows what she is doing. I have to thank Unilocal for finding her. She also shows up under ‘Pain Management’ and her card identifies her as specializing in ‘weight loss, pain management and sports acupuncture.’ She is completing even more education and certification in sports at this time to add to her already significant list of achievements. If you spend any time at all with Johanna you will agree with me that she is an extremely talented and gifted individual. The ‘proof is in the pudding’ though right? so let me get to how Bill is feeling which I know is on your mind. No, Bill did not leap up saying ‘I’ve been healed’ but it’s Friday and we saw her Monday and he is sitting at his desk at his office (I thought he was dead because he was supposed to be back five hours ago so I called him thinking I would get highway patrol but I got him – ‘oh hi, yeah I’m at the office’) after receiving only one treatment from Johanna. His next appointment is scheduled for Monday. God knows what he’ll want to do after that.
Ambiance
As it turns out Johanna runs her practice out of Côte d’azur this cool little spa on Bellvue in Pasadena. There’s parking in the back and it gets snaps for ambiance right off the bat. Her ‘office’ is sweet and quiet and has that wonderful spa smell that says ‘take a load off … relax’ so I did and sat in a chair to watch as Johanna worked her magic on my Bill. Perfect way to spend the middle part of the day.
Operations
I was very impressed and grateful that Johanna saw my partner Bill and myself on a day not typically reserved for patients. Bill was and is in a great deal of pain. Even with that said I haven’t experienced that type of human charity in business any time lately, like ever. I don’t imagine that is necessarily standard fare for her but be aware this is an extraordinary individual. Johanna takes insurance and from what I saw she manages things very efficiently. I wasn’t paying attention but there is likely a copay that will vary according to your plan and I’m sure cash is gratefully accepted. I know she may also operate out of another site in Rosemead because Bill sees a chiropractor she recommended that works there and he is the bomb according to Bill.

Johanna is an amazing acupuncturist. She works with many kinds of clients and for us she has been more of a doctor and healer than just simply needle work. She also helps with the Derby Dolls Roller Girls and is an expert in sports injuries. One this that is always inspiring is her continued effort in education and research. She continually finds new ways to approach injury and healing and is a wealth of knowledge. Her kind spirit makes her a wonderful person to see when you’re not feeling well or are injured. She’s a true master at her craft! Couldn’t say enough good on her behalf!

Johanna has an amazing bedside manner. She really wants to know how she can help you in all areas, physically, mentally, spiritually etc
Her philosophy of medicine is very tapped into the mind, body and soul. You won’t regret your experience because she is highly knowledgable in her field. The environment and music was so soothing. It was a great experience and I look forward to my 2^nd session next week. Thank you Johanna!

Johanna works magic with her needles! I highly recommend her for any pain management and rehab, but especially foe athletes.

Johanna is one of the best Acupuncture I have had the pleasure in getting to know and work with. She’s professional, thorough, gentle and her method of treatments are very precise. Everyone knows that I have a fear of needles but when I injured my right hand and shoulder, she got me better in less than four treatments. I was surprise how quickly I recovered from her treatments and skilled hands. She is one of the very few Acupuncture that I trust. I totally agree with the reviewer who said Johanna is an athlete’s best friend. Unlike most health practitioners who tend to rush through appointments, Johanna actually spends a lot of time with me to help me with my injuries. She truly cares about the well being of her patients. And the magic she works with those little needles — amazing! I had a 5 year old shoulder injury that was getting worse over time. Since I have started seeing Johanna it’s almost back to normal.

09÷15÷12 Sabi S. I had a very bad leg and hip injury at work that left me in acute pain rated ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for three months. I had to use crutches to get around, could hardly bare any weight on my right leg, and the pain and claudication in my right hip and thigh was relentless. I went to two of the best orthopedic surgeons in Southern California, took pain meds and anti-​inflammitories for weeks with very little relief. I was told by the pros that «time will heal all ailments». The pain continued, my work suffered, and my disposition was for the worst. Contemporary medicine has always been the norm for me, but today, I got a good friend to help me get to Ms. Ho’s. I go to every certification symposium for pain management in my line of work. Contemporary medicine is usually covered at these meetings, but alternative medicine is not featured. My session with Ms. Ho was for only one hour, but changed everything. Ms. Ho was extremely gentle, informed, and informative to me about my treatment. The long weeks of hot stabbing pain that started in my right inner thigh, swirled down to my knee, and rippled down my lower leg to my ankle was reduced to almost nothing after Ms. Ho’s carefully placed gentle taps! I still cannot believe that I was able to get off of her table without help. I was able to dress on my own. I could bend my knee and my right hip!!! I can now bear weight on my right knee!!! I walked to the car holding my crutches in my left hand!!! NO MORE FRANKENSTEIN WALKING!!! I am very excited about my first treatment!!! Johanna Ho is a secret that I cannot keep for myself, I simply must share! We make few decisions in life that are instantaneously rewarding. If you have pain, solve your problem with a visit to Johanna Ho!!!

Pure and simply the best. I enjoy athletics which means I get injured from to time. Johanna is always the first person I call to help fix me up. As a matter of fact I just took my girlfriend for an injured shoulder and she couldn’t believe how much better she felt afterwards. There’s no reason to simply «deal» with pain if you know Johanna. Make an appointment with her, you’ll be glad you did.

When I was having trouble sleeping and wasn’t getting enough rest, I decided to try acupuncture in lieu of sleep aids. After one treatment with Johanna I felt more focused and slept SO WELL for a whole week following treatment! I have seen Johanna a handful of times now for acupuncture, and I am impressed with how gentle she is with needles and her enthusiasm in sharing her knowledge of Chinese medicine. As someone who has a fear of needles (due to having deep veins and previous awful blood-​drawing experiences), I would say that the pain of acupuncture needles is nonexistent to very marginal. And the results have been outstanding. Johanna is great at what she does and I highly recommend her, especially if you never had acupuncure before but are open to trying it out!

Johanna is an athlete’s best friend! I went to her to help me recover from a training injury and get me ready for a half marathon. She stopped the shooting pain that was going down my leg! Johanna doesn’t just treat the sore spots she treats the whole person.
My aunt, who suffers from neuropathy is now seeing Johanna and started seeing results after the first visit.
Simply put Johanna is amazing!!!

Johanna is amazing! She has a very gentle technique, and is very in tune. I have seen her for numerous things including sports injuries and internal medical issues at least 10 – 12 times over the last year — she has helped me considerably with both. I continue to be amazed at the things that Acupuncture can help with that I never would have imagined. I highly recommend Johanna.

You’ll be saying, «Is it in yet?» Johanna has the lightest touch so if you’re needle-​phobic but curious about acupuncture, I highly recommend a visit. With one treatment, Johanna was able to stop my chronic nose-​bleed. I’ve been seeing her regularly since for other ailments ranging from muscle pain to asthma.

I hurt my neck while drying my hair, which made me feel old, then I tried 2 chiropractic adjustments to help it. They increased my range of motion, but did nothing for the pain. I tried acupuncture on day 5 of the pain, and it made me wish I had tried it on day 1. Thanks, Johanna!

I have never felt more at ease around needles! :) Johanna does an excellent job of explaining what she is doing and the purpose of everything.
I have always had constant hip and lower back problems and pain (due to an ACL injury and working out) that massages would not help. After visiting Johanna the first time, I felt an imediate difference in the release of tension and energy in the specific areas of the lower back.
I decided to go a second time a couple of weeks later to soothe tension in my hips, lower back and thighs from a couple of over-​exerted and difficult workouts that I encountered (sore to a touch). After this visit, i felt so great, being able to actually lift a leg, which I could not do 2 days earlier due to soreness and pain. She went right to the source.
I highly recommend Johanna to alleviate any pain, tension or soreness. She is the best!
