This is a super classy, hip stay sort of out of place in Pasadena, where the clientele is mostly business men in a place that deserves a fun crowd to match the décor. Drinks are not too pricey and the vibe is chill.
Rooms have an über sexy décor with automated lights and air controls through the bedside iPad concierge. Tried to order room service but it was a bit glitchy.
Music playing as you enter your room screams of ‘Virgin Airways’. Come here for a romantic getaway or comfortable business class stay — suitable for both.

My boyfriend and I really wanted to like this place but the terrible service when we checked in left a sour taste in our mouth. We won’t be staying here again despite the nice location.
We checked in at 610pm and our room was not ready. When I asked why the room wasn’t ready the concierge gave me an attitude and told us that the air conditioning had broken so there was a delay (I can understand that). He went on to say that since we had booked from an outside agency (
) that we were not a priority. At no point did he say sorry for the in incidence. We were able to get a clean room finally 15 minutes later.
Not a priority? That’s fine, we will take our money elsewhere next time.

Friday night stay at D2. I rcv’d an «okay» rate for a deluxe room and since I was celebrating someone specials bday thought it would be worth the «splurge».
Pros: chic, modern, clean. close to nightlife and Pasadena hotspots.
Service: everyone was attentive, friendly, and helpful.
Room: clean, small, but comfortable.
cons: $ 25 for overnight valet (x2 for me as we had to drive separate cars and meet there). would not have been «so» bad had i not been counting on the «tuk tuk» (sp?), but we were told it broke down and would not be available that night. (so had to fork out $ 7 to park that night.)
Wanting to get the most out of our stay I requested turn down service. Unfortunately for me, while playing with the room controls on the iPad I hit the Privacy light so when we got back to our room they had left a msg letting me know they are unable to svc room w/​privacy light on.
They are under construction. Hopefully the hotel will offer more value in the future.

My husband enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and updated hotel. We didn’t have any problems. There are many different lighting options in the room which is super nice for setting an ambience of your choice. The room was nicely stocked (towels, toiletries (the soap, body wash, hair shampoo and conditioner smell amazing, also there are cotton swabs, cotton balls, shower cap), Keurig machine with tea, coffee (decaf included!)). Oh and don’t forget about the complimentary water bottles in the fridge! Has a large tv flat tv mounted on the wall with an HDMI cable so we could rent a movie on our laptop (free wifi) and watch in on the nice large king comfortable bed! Ah, so relaxing.
There are only three things I wish I had in the room: a full body size mirror, a make up mirror (the counter is super nice and spacious by the mirror so it was kind of far to do face make up with, and a more private bathroom (it’s just behind a glass stall type of door in the room).
Anyway, all in all a great experience! We loved it and hope to be back.

I stayed here during IMATS (1÷15− ¹⁄₁₇) and I loved it! Very beautiful hotel and the sweetest staff. I stayed in a suite on the fifth floor, the view was’t what I had expected, but it was still okay. The room was very clean and spacious.
While I enjoyed my stay, there were a few issues that I had.
First off, when I checked into the hotel, I had called a week prior to my stay and asked for early check-​in, and they said that was fine. When I got to the hotel at 2:15 pm to check-​in my room still wasn’t ready and the gentleman at the front desk said it was because the person before me had a late check-​out.
Then the next problem was that, I had paid for the hotel through my company because I got a discount. I had filled out the credit card authorization form and sent it to the hotel. When I was checking-​in the lady at the front desk then told me that the card hadn’t been approved. I was disappointed with this because I would’ve like to have been called at least so that I could send in a new form.
I was also charged $ 250 for the incidental coverage, which i was not informed thats how much it would be when I checked in, so I didn’t put it into my budget.
I finally got checked in at around 3:15 pm and went up to my room. The iPad in the room where you can control the room settings didn’t work all weekend.
During the 1^st night, the fire alarm went off for a few minutes at 11 pm and startled me out of bed. I went out to the hallway and the fire alarm just turned off. The next morning at 8 am, it went off again and woke me up, but turned off after a few minutes.
Despite all of this, I had a good time at this hotel, especially since the tuk-​tuk was available to take me to the Pasadena Convention Center and pick me up everyday! They have fee wifi, and my room had the large bathtub and a small TV next to it.
I definitely hope they get the fire alarm issue fixed, and I plan on staying here again next year for IMATS.

Modern & chic boutique hotel which does not disappoint!!!
Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Pasadena and was pleasantly surprised with the room amenities and the service.
THE ROOM: Very modern, new and CLEAN! Everything is digital and high-​tech. You are welcomed by an ipad which allows you to control all the conditions of the room. Temperature, lights, even order towels, toothbrushes, etc without having to call down to the front desk! You can even retrieve your car via valet from the ipad as well as schedule a wake up call! Beds are comfortable and televisions are equipped with DIRECT TV.
THE SERVICE: Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. They offer bottled water whenever leaving and returning to the hotel. FREE WI-​FI.
LOCATION: Not very close to the Old Town Pasadena, but within walking distance to restaurants. We didn’t make use of it, but i believe there is a free shuttle downtown.
My only gripe is that valet parking is $ 25 a night and there aren’t any alternatives to this around the area. However I would definitely stay here if ever in the area again!!!

This hotel is everything! By far the cleanest, friendliest and nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms were cozy, very very clean and I loved their pillows.
Guy from valet is phenomenal, his customer service skills exceeds expectations. I should give them all credit because they were all very accommodating.
George our server was very nice and funny. His recommendations were all great. I didn’t catch the bartenders name but he was was cool too. Just everything about this hotel was great. Definitely recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed!

We had the standard room with a king size bed and were placed on the top floor at the end of the hall. Found this place to be a good value for the money, especially with a AAA discount ($ 117 for a Monday night).
Free wifi, valet was about $ 25 with no in and out charges, great tv, comfy bed, and there is a free shuttle to the shops and restaurants in Old Town Pasadena. Bar downstairs was fine, although we weren’t crazy about the breakfast we got (eggs Benedict with a weird chili sauce in the hollandaise) the next morning from room service. Front desk service and shuttle driver were great.
Minus one star (minor) for being able to hear every door slam on neighboring floors throughout the night.

This is one if the most unique hotel I have stayed since a long time. The service is exceptional good. Front desk people is friendly, the people at the door area are helpful as well. The room they gave me was so beautiful, I just love the whole thing. I’ll be back for sure!

From the genuine warm welcome upon arrival, the consistent efforts from guest services to make sure our room was fully stocked, and the valet staff being so accommodating and helpful during the duration of my trip … dusitD2 management and team get 5 stars all across the board!!!
Rooms are spacious, clean, modern, and the amenities are great. I’m looking forward to the future expansion of the hotel’s rooftop, pool, and gym.

My girlfriend and I decided to enter a Facebook contest that the hotel was holding and we were the lucky winners of a complementary one night stay at the hotel! (DEFINITELY recommend following them on their social media accounts because you might get lucky like we did.) Right after winning, I was contacted by the Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Jann Robert Macatangay, who was extremely helpful and took care of everything that we needed. He made sure to recommend places to see, nightlife, as well was delicious dishes at the hotel’s restaurant.
Once we arrived to the hotel, we were immediately greeted by extremely friendly bellhops and valet staff. The front desk staff was also very cheerful and friendly (after staying at many hotels where the staff looked and acted like they didn’t want to be there or service the consumer, this was a refreshing sight). Once checked in, Nick, one of the bellhops, took us up to our room and showed us the many features including the fact that all the lights, shades, and temperature was controlled by an iPad! Talk about high tech! Overall, the room was extremely clean and beautiful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave! We did not encounter any staff member who was not friendly or did not have a smile on their face. They truly believe in customer service! (From someone who has been in charge of customer service/​marketing for different companies, there are little things that I constantly look for, and they by far surpassed my expectations.)
I would highly recommend booking a mini getaway here! It is close enough to old town Pasadena to go shopping, eating, and enjoy the nightlife, yet also far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet.
If eating at the restaurant, I would highly recommend the truffle Mac n cheese, sashimi, steak sandwich, and burgers!

We decided to book this hotel for a weekend stay while attending my friend’s wedding in Pasadena. Upon arrival, valet and everyone who greeted us during check in was absolutely amazing! We arrived early and they had no problem checking us into our room before check in time. When you stay at the hotel they give you a 20% off card that works for anything in the hotel so make sure to keep that on you at all times. This hotel isn’t anything special on the outside but once you step inside you’re embraced with pure luxury. Beams of light grace the restaurant and cocktail lounge giving me the feeling of a high class luxury hotel in Japan. All the hi tech rooms include a huge flat screen HD TV, a fridge, a Keurig (genius) and you control the lights and a/​c with an iPad that is provided for each room.
With the iPad you can also request your car for valet at any time and look at menus for the restaurant to order room service. There are so many ways they can advance these ideas like being able to control the tv with the iPad and be able to order room service with it. There is definitely a lot of potential and I’m sure they will add these features later. Overall our stay was great and this will probably be our hotel every time we stay here. Highly recommend and we WILL be back!

This place is pretty awesome when I stayed for my cousin-in-law’s wedding. The only disappointing thing was that there was not any parking. However — for those of you who will not give up there actually is parking a block or two away! You just need to read the signs. I think it was okay to park at night, just remember where you parked.
The room was pretty unique as the shower, bathroom, sink, and bed were all in the same room. Staff was pretty accommodating as they gave me a king room instead of the 2 queens that were booked (believed I used Expedia or mybooking). Would not mind booking again — if the price increase is not too bad! I saw from the website that they were going to add in a pool and more rooms. Accidentally misread it the first time around and was saddened when I found out that the pool and gym was for next year 2016. Otherwise this was a nice stay, very comfortable. Love the bed and pillows — fell asleep so quick! They also had a bar downstairs but I been too tired to try it out when I was staying there.

Stayed a comfortable night in a dusit double on a brief SoCal vacation. Though a NorCal kid by birth, this hotel, right off the main Pasadena drag, evoked old-​school Hollywood charm from the outside, and a jarring, funky new-​age theme on the inside.
Maybe they tried too hard. iPad-​based room amenities were nifty, but the extended lag time between commands and function made it difficult to know if the commands actually registered. Often, ended up using wall controls instead. Additionally, $ 26 valet fee was a bummer, particularly as the car took as long as 20 minutes to return from its off-​site lot.
Nevertheless, the room was very comfortable, the amenities (including the high-​pressure glass shower) were thoughtful, and the staff were particularly friendly. I’d be interested to return after the completion of renovations.

I had a morning appointment at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratories so checked in late prior evening. The DusitD2 Hotel Constance Pasadena is in a historic building on the corner of Colorado and Mentor.
Arriving by car, the hotel has staff who greet you and parks your car for you. Valet is the only option as they have no parking lot. I had no issues at all with valets, they were always available when I needed them.
Interesting use of carpet, wall and ceiling treatment in the hallways gives one the feeling you are walking uphill. Optical illusion, very cool (see photo)
Rooms are on the small side, but full of interesting details. Mattress and linens were comfortable and I slept soundly. Surprisingly little intrusion of street noise outside.

I had a quick breakfast consisting of oatmeal and fruit cup. Fruit was freshly cut. Inexpensive.

My wife and I stayed here for our 16^th wedding anniversary. We had tickets to go see Carlos Mencia at the Icehouse (which I would also highly recommend), and I wanted to find a hotel close by.
The staff at this hotel are extremely friendly! The lobby was kind of cool and modern. When we arrived, they greeted us with champagne! When they found out it was our anniversary, they sent a bottle of their blue champagne to our room, along with some chocolate covered strawberries! The room was very modern, very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable!
We really enjoyed it here and we will definitely stay here again!

I remember being in Thailand and finding refuge at the Dusit hotel there. Haha fun night.
This hotel is trendy and comfortable but the standard rooms are the size of Manhattan hotel rooms! Tiny.

I wanted to give 3.5 stars but I trust they will get better. The service and decore really make the place worth while! I feel they are worthy of 4 stars due to pure value on this visit.
I live in the neighborhood and have walked by nearly a hundred times… I always see action in the lounge, but did not know there was a restaurant until I saw their name posted in Pasadena Restaurant Week… Great opportunity to check them out!!!
The $ 15 prix fixe menu was GREAT!!!
App options include a bisque or flat bread… The flat bread was good, I’m a huge fan of the pepperiness of the arugala and earthiness of the mushrooms, but apparent to me that the bread wasn’t baked on premises. The bisque was delicious, creamy with a hint of citrus zesty… Almost reminiscent of tom yum kai. I think they actually could have provided a smaller portion and I would still be satisfied.
The entre options we chose were the shrimp salad and D2 burger. The salad left much to be desired… Shrimp over cooked and not as well cleaned as one might expect. Considering the rustic plating, it may have been more fitting to have just plated 2 whole smaller prawns atop the salad as opposed to the 3 shrimp on the side. The burger though was good! Again, very apparent that the bun was not baked on premises, but the meat and toppings of gruyère and prosciutto were good (no need to further cook the prosciutto– they should just put it atop the melted cheese. What really won me over was the small salad with this peppery/​vanilla vinaigrette and the rustic cut, cold root veggies… I love me some beets! :)
Finally the deserts. We got the fresh berries and chocolate pot. The fresh berries were a nice assortment topped with what seemed to me to be Greek yougurt whipped with a bit of crème fraische. Nice, light way to top off a meal. The little chocolate pot though was DANGEROUS… They should require a license to buy and sell it. Rich, excellent consistency, some berries on the side to balance it a bit. It was GREAT!
I would gladly pay $ 15 per for this meal again… Kick it up a notch with some of the preparation technique and quality of baked goods and they really could secure a stronger standing and warrant a price point of $ 30 per on this same lunch menu.

This hotel is the most modern hotel i ever been to. this was built over 100 years ago and it has been remodel recently. the from the hall way it’s very bright and there is LED lights everywhere. We got the penthouse on 2^nd floor, (i find this weird, usually it’s on the top floor) and the room was very modern.
love the crazy shower place with 3 over the head wash and electronic touch pad for all the lights even a curtain. this place was so modern it took little time to get used to the room.
Great room service and they come in less then 30 sec. only thing i didn’t like about this place is that the penthouse was on the 2^nd floor and they didn’t have sound system where we can plug our phone or other type of music player. they had AUX but who use that now days. they need a usb port for iphone or andriod.

Very hip looking bar, the staff is awesome especially the night manager who was super friendly and helpful.
The prices are a little steep, but the ambiance is nice. It should be a pretty cool spot to hang out at once the development adjacent to the hotel is complete. The menu looks interesting, so I’ll be coming back to check that out some time in the near future.
