Our family had lunch there today and we definitely won’t come again. We ordered carna asada, chicken, el pastor and fish tacos, as well as beans and rice and guacamole. The meats appeared to be cooked long ago and not freshly prepared and tortillas were stale. Beans were awful and rice was flavorless. Making tacos is not difficult and would recommend management/owners to rethink their cooking and process.

This place isn’t very good. The food is «OK», but what’s really frustrating is that it is really over-priced and the staff isn’t very friendly. Plus, they play the music REALLYREALLYLOUD!!! You can get quality tacos at any taco truck anywhere in LA for about half the price as this place. Best advice: go somewhere else.

Not the best Mexican food. It was very bland plus the word healthy is spelled wrong in their menu it was spelled heathly and they got my order wrong and my friend’s. I ordered Baja fish tacos I got shrimp my friend wanted wet burrito with red sauce she got green sauce. They serve White rice instead of Mexican rice. I ordered a tortilla soup too. My bill was 23. Dollars. So Outrageous on Price. Not going back. and I pitched a fit to go there when we were gong to Jake’s to find out it was closed down. There are plenty of Mexican food places around to go to. Just not Fridas.

2.5 stars… Bad experience at Frida’s Tacos today! I usually love it, but today I did not, nor did it love me. When I called to speak with the manager about my out of the ordinary experience the staff informed me, «he doesn’t want to take your call»…

This was our first time here. My husband and I shared the nachos. The nachos with beef were delicious as was the fresh brewed ice tea. The cashier was pleasant. I would have rated it 5 stars, but it looked like the floors hadn’t had a good sweeping in awhile.

Tacos are a bit pricier than other places but they are loaded with meat and delicious. Have only tried the asada, which was delicious. The green sauce is tasty and the red is spicy but good. Nice spot.

It’s alright, not great, but decent. One of my pet peeves in a mexican joint is how they roll the burrito. Most get it right, some do not. Fridas does not. How hard is it to roll it up so everything mixes together? Every time I order a burrito the first bite is beans, the next few are all rice, then i get a mouth full of sour cream, then lettuce… You get the idea. It shouldn’t be that difficult – I mean, it’s a burrito for God’s sake, it’s not like were solving the rubiks cube back there. Flavors are ok, salsa bar is a nice touch. Quality control could be a little better. last week there was half a finger from a latex glove in my burrito. Pretty gross but at least they care about cleanliness and were wearing them. Of course, I don’t really want to see part of it in my burrito, but hey, at least it wasn’t a bandaid like I initially thought. Overall, it’s decent.

Good prices, good tortillas, great pork, poor tortilla soup. Pros: + The citrus pork was very flavorful and with a nice«melt in your mouth» texture. The corn tortillas were very fresh and with perfect texture. The«serve yourself» salsa bar is a nice touch to dress up the tacos. + Prices are not bad for the amount of food. + Relatively quick service and friendly staff. Cons: — The cilantro in the«serve yourself» salsa area was old and dried out. — The tortilla soup had chipotle chiles(or similar) in the soup and were way too hot to bite down on. I have a feeling they meant to take these out before serving but forgot to. Not a fan of the tortilla soup.

The style of tacos is best described as «street tacos». I had soft tacos. They were served with flout tortillas and meat. You add some additional toppings and salsa to taste. The tortilla size is small, but they’re nicely full of meat and there are 2 tortillas per taco(you don’t have to be concerned that the taco will break up in your hand!). While the tacos smaller-sized that’s actually nice. If you want a little bit to eat this is perfect. If you want more order another me taco or two! They have other options too, so you’re not limited to tacos. I had carne asada and carnitas. Both gases great although I favored the carnitas a little more. I also had their rice and refried beans. They were very flavorful! A good first experience here!

Uhm… literally my favorite taco spot in California. Whenever I visit the west coast, one of the first stops I make is Frida Tacos… no lie. I just have never been to a place that makes their tacos so well. The flavor is out of this world. I love the carne one, add some chives, onions, and verde sauce to that baby and you’re set. The service is fast and the food is really good. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, you can’t go wrong with Frida Tacos. I’m usually at this location but I’ve always been to the Melrose location as well. Great all around.

At first glance and from the outside you may mistake Frida’s for a gringo style Mexican fast casual ala Baja Fresh but clearly this is far from a corporate joint. It is actually located in an easement that runs opposite of Colorado that is really more like an alleyway with a half dozen or so eateries. On the way to a UCLA game I popped in to grab something in lieu of overpriced stadium food. Lots of promise here and the menu has all of the best of authentic style tacos, tortas, etc. I opted for a «combo» taco plate but it was more like two tacos with a thimble full of black beans and a tablespoon of rice. I wasn’t expecting a large portion but the street style tacos that can be had off of most taco trucks were overpriced to be sure. This is one carnitas soft taco and one chicken hard shell taco. I would be fibbing if I reported that this was anything more than ordinary. The carnitas were just too salty and dry. Carnitas should be moist and tender, savory without being a salt bomb. The chicken hard shell taco was decent but again nothing to write home about. The aforementioned items making up the combo the rice and beans were just portion challenged. The mini-salsa bar was loaded with all of the authentic good stuff, fresh salsas, limes, onion, marinated carrots with jalapenos so that was a plus. Overall a decent if not run of the mill place, Frida’s is not a place I would seek out in the future.

Yum! The bf, our doggies and I came for a late lunch on Sunday. The place is in an alleyway in between Cotton On and Yogurtland, near Spinfish Poke House. It’s a very small joint, but loved that they had several tables outside. We got some buhrrrs and hard tacos, and we were very happy with the food. The meat texture and flavor were perfect and the taco shells were light and crispy. I would definitely come by and grab a quick lunch with a few friends and/or your dog!

I enjoyed my first dinner at Frida Tacos tonight and this time I’m glad I didn’t check Unilocal first. The food here is fantastic! The meats are juicy and seasoned perfectly(the best carnitas in town IMO) and served on fresh corn tortillas. The service is fast and friendly, the restaurant clean with a pleasant aesthetic. Price to Flavor/Quality ratio, this place earns my 5 stars without hesitation. Recommendations: Try the carnitas and cochinita pibil. The fresh fried crispy beef tacos my wife ordered also looked great. We’ll be back for sure. Please ignore the naysayers and try this place out. I want this place busy enough to stick around for years to come.

$ 2.45 for a crispy taco… Mmmmm maybe when I crave it. It’s pretty pricey for just one. It’s good! Meat is soft and juicy. So juicy that the crispy taco becomes soggy tacos. So either eat it quick or just settle for soggy. The veggies taste fresh and crème is good. I don’t mind coming back if I want to pay that $ 2.45(on a Tuesday) price.

So after having some drinks in Downtown Pasadena to celebrate a friends birthday, as we get ready to leave at 1:45AM [don’t judge], my Lyft app states that this is their busy hour and there will be a 75% surcharge. WHAT! So we figure, lets get something to eat and then get the Lyft ride and I pull out my phone to Unilocal a local and open restaurant and Frida pops up. The barbacoa taco was really really good. I also really liked the hard taco. Everything was good, I shared a carnitas taco with my wife and tasted her chicken taco. The prices will remind you that you are in Old Town Pasadena but it was well worth it. The place was clean and the sauce are was appetizing even at this late hour. There was actually a line at 2AM partially because the guy at the front taking the orders was putting on a show playing and flirting with everyone, and I mean everyone. He was not the obnoxious type and made it fun but it did add a little time. By the time we left and ordered our Lyft, it was not down to 25% surcharge. Great tacos and now a savings! Yeah.

Nice little taco place in Old Town Pasadena located in a hip-looking alleyway. It is one of the more noticeable taco places around the area. Menu has a good variety, and the tacos are pretty good. You can get a nice salad with various meats at around $ 10 or so, although perhaps a tad pricey for Mexican fast food. The food is good quality, although it may not feel as authentic as some of the Mexican food in LA. Here, you can get a nice salad with some good flavorful meat. Interior has a nice, hip and urban atmosphere. Interior is on the small side, so a group of 2 – 4 should be fine. The street parking is hard in Oldtown Pasadena, but you can still park at the nearby parking structure.

Hole in the wall in an alley way in pasadena. I was passing by and decided to get some tacos without checking them on Unilocal.Got pollo asada and pastor. Amazing. Food quality was good, juicy grilled meat and fresh flavorful salsa. Kitchen and the dining area were kept clean and pleasant. I noticed a lot of negative reviews regarding service and closing earlier than stated on the sign. But hey, tacos were bomb.

They use to have a manager named Ken. Since he left I’ve been here a couple times and it seems like things have gone down hill. Dirty plates & trays left on empty tables, boxes of food products sitting around the kitchen floor, etc. These are not a one time occurrence as I’ve been back multiple times since their manager Ken left. It also drives me crazy to sit there when buzzers are going off on the counter when they’ve already been dropped off. It would be easy to say they’re just really busy as an excuse but I’ve noticed they have an additional employee working(4 now vs 3 before during a shift), so something just isn’t right management wise. They keep 3 stars from me because I still enjoy the food, but when looking around while waiting for my food, the place is disgusting and the staff seems unorganized. Hopefully they can get an experienced leader back in there and get things back to how they were.
