Jitsufit is an incredible environment to learn martial arts, especially for kids. Founder Jon Boone’s approach to teaching is informed by his experience as a father of two young children and he leads his kids with exceptional instruction focused around self-​defense, leadership, discipline, and emotional growth. Fun & creative game play accompany every lesson with each session ending in riotous organized group play that reinforces the skills of the day. Our two young children have attended the school for several years now and we can attribute a huge degree of their self-​confidence, physical dexterity, and discipline to the instruction they’ve received from Master Boone & his expert team. Instruction for adults in both Jiu-​Jitsu/​MMA and Karate is equally excellent. Master Boone specializes in making the process of learning martial arts as an adult beginner positive and un-​intimidating while providing top level instruction to advanced & competitive students.

My son has been coming for about a month now and he loves it! This is the first time he has tried anything related to martial arts. I can see him learning and him wanting to come is the best thing ever. I really like this place I drive about 30 – 45 minutes to get here and it’s worth it.

I love Jitsufit! I have been training under Master Boone for many years and it has changed my life. The instruction is invaluable and we have great workouts in class. All of the staff are very knowledgeable and the lessons are excellent. I always enjoy being at Jitsufit and would highly recommend anyone to train here!

Master Jon is like Yoda for kids. His Padawans, Master Marco and Master Linda, are equally awesome. They teach life lessons here — respect, discipline, self-​worth and broccoli. Master Jon got my son of eat broccoli as homework; we cannot get him to eat broccoli until JitsuFit! I highly recommend JitsuFit.

By far the best! My boys have been doing karate and jiujitsu for a few months now and absolutely LOVE it. Not a day goes by that they are not asking to go. The classes not only show them karate and jiujitsu but social skills, respect and confidence. Since my boys have started I do see an overall improvement in their behavior. The teachers are phenomenal and in my opinion the best. This isn’t just a class they teach, this is something they are passionate for. They give nothing short of their very best. It truly is teachers like the ones at jitsufit that make a difference in our children’s lives.

All of the teachers are great with kids (especially Karate Masters Marco and Jon). There are fun, age appropriate activities in the lil ninja program (e.g. ninja dodge ball, obstacle courses, light sabers, sumo wrestling, ninja island, and on and on!). It is bi-​weekly and my child’s physical fitness, coordination, self confidence, and discipline has improved so much. I am also really impressed with the karate moves they learn and the real world skills that the instructors teach alongside. The first time I saw my five year old spar I was apprehensive that it would lead to excessive aggression but he recognizes that these are moves for the karate mats or for self defense. The instructors often remind the kids that if a bully is bothering you, your first response should be «hey, cut it out. I don’t want to fight you.» And to look for a grown up. This is definitely not the bad dojo in the Karate Kid movie! The new studio is large, bright, and welcoming. Overall, this is a great place for your little one, you won’t be disappointed.

Jon Boone is the real deal! What sets JitsuFit apart is Jon Boone and his first class staff. His love and dedication to the kids is heartwarming. He focuses on turning students into better people. I have seen success with my own kids. Their concentration has improved, confidence has risen and most of all they LOVE going to class!
My kids do a ton of extracurricular activities throughout the year including Boy/​Girl Scouts, YMCA Adventure Guides, baseball, basketball, language classes and music lessons. Whenever asked, Karate at JitsuFit is their favorite activity of all!
The first day my daughter went in to meet Jon for her 30 min «getting to know you» lesson, she was scared, holding my leg and trying to hide behind me. Jon immediately put her at ease. Within 5 minutes she was smiling, laughing and learning. As we left walking hand in hand through the parking lot she looked up at me and said, «Daddy, can I go every day?»
Jon has a great love of kids, and it shows. Though he is incredibly focused and disciplined, he lets his own inner child come out through his humor and joking in class. It is really inspiring to watch him work.
One thing I love about KenpoFit is the cleanliness of the place. Jon treats the facility, like everything else in his life, with honor and respect. He, his students and staff clean it top to bottom daily.
Another thing I love about KenpoFit is the emphasis on family. Everyone is encouraged to come to class with the kids. There is a seating area right in front of the mats.
Jon always greets everyone by name. It’s amazing! I could go on…
This is the number one (yes #1 !!!) Karate Studio for Kids in Pasadena! It’s the best for Martial Arts and best for Jiu Jitsu also!

Amazing teachers, great facility! The first activity that my daughter has followed through with for over a year! She attends twice a week and has been having an amazing experience. Master John, Master Marco, and Master Linda are all amazing with her! The parents are also a great bunch as well as the kids. My daughter is never bored and has an amazing time learning new tools and working toward the next level. I highly recommend taking classes here!

I cannot write enough wonderful words about Kenpofit. My five year old son takes classes here twice a week and has done so for about six months now. First of all, my son loves it! We never have to coax him into going to class, he is eager to do so. Kenpofit understands children. The black belt instructors conduct classes with compassionate discipline, humor and well organized, targeted lesson plans. My child is learning practical, physical skills like round house kicks and punching as well as esteem building social skills like how to assert and himself, goal setting and self respect. My husband and I are so glad that we enrolled him in classes with the great team of Master Jon, Master Marco and Master Linda.
Additionally, their new location is fantastic! Large, clean, aesthetically pleasing facility. It has ample parking and is easy to get to. There is plenty of room for parents to sit and watch class and entertain younger siblings.

A compassionate teacher makes passionate learners. Master Jon (founder of Kenpofit MAA) is absolutely the most genuine and influential instructor I have studied under. When it comes to teaching, training, and even learning (as Master Jon is continuously improving himself), Master Jon always expresses enthusiasm; and when it comes to listening and/​or understanding, Master Jon is your best friend, a counselor, and a mentor. He makes me want to excel in everything I do inside and outside of the studio; and most often, he believes in me more than I believe in myself!
I have been an avid weight lifter, runner, and health enthusiast for many years (and still am), but nothing compares to this. Unlike the monotony of going to the gym or running around in circles, the challenges here are always different and exciting. Not only is everybody having fun, but we are learning something useful; an art, a skill, techniques, and most importantly, SELF DEFENSE, SELF DISCIPLINE, and SELF CAPABILITY!
I was welcomed to this academy with arms wide open, and other students are always more than willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. There are no egos here; the atmosphere is always friendly, energetic, and positive. Along with fellow Martial Art practitioners and Master Jon’s excellent staff, we have a hunger to learn, achieve, and rise together.

WOW — Jon Boone is an incredible children’s athletic instructor. The best we’ve ever had! Two of my children have been with him for 3 years. Their confidence in their karate skills is a direct reflection of Master Jon’s teachings. They also have much more confidence in themselves. What a wonderful gift. There is nothing bad to say about Jon. He is an awesome teach & person. If you want to learn to defend yourself as well as grow as a person, it is well worth your time to check him out. He is great with kids. He was my teacher for many years & I learned so much & he made it fun. When my grand daughter is old enough to be in martial art he WILL be her teacher as well. It is a good art for everyone to learn for so many reasons & a great work out as well..

I was looking for a martial arts studio near my home. I studied Kenpo about 12 years ago and well I wanted to get back into it. There are 2 or 3 local schools in pasadena, but the small things like parking well that turned me away. Now I found Kenpofit the instructor is an all around great guy. I came into the studio and right away was greeted and asked if I had any questions. I asked about times and what the tuition included. This is a great opportunity, the tuition is reasonable for the amount of time you can spend in the studio training, you have World Champ Frank Trejo who teaches there as well. I will also mention you have a lot of the seasoned veteran black belts from the Ed Parker Studio training there also any day of the week.
