My sister and I came here to get fitted for new running shoes.)A bribe from our brother to get us to start doing 5k’s and 10k’s with him, i’m sure hehe). Pierre helped us find our arch height, and helped us diagnose the way we walk/​run. He found about 4 – 5 pairs of shoes for each my sister and I, and we tried each out, as Pierre watched us walk and run. He was able to evaluate each shoe and our walking pattern, and help us chose the right shoe for us. So patient as we tried on the same shoe, multiple times.

I came in here looking for insoles for my very sore foot. The staff was exceptional. They let me try on several different brands and styles, and even let me borrow some running shoes to walk around the store in. They were very patient, and knowledgeable about my injury. No pushy sales techniques here, just great and courteous service with reasonable prices. If you need shoes and gear for exercising, please support them… they’re terrific!

I have yet to purchase my running shoes from here, because I’m pretty loyal to another running store in Los Feliz, but I have dropped in here a couple times to pick up Balega’s for my son. They don’t have the greatest color selection but I’m sure my son couldn’t care less about that aspect. I turned him onto these because I love running in them.
Service is always friendly and they have a run club, which I wouldn’t rule out heading out onto the streets of Pasadena with if I’m ever in the area in time on a Monday evening.
I made sure to patronize the store on small business Saturday as let’s face it if we aren’t talking food/​coffee this is probably one of the best small businesses in the area.

To be honest I don’t consider myself a runner (unless it involves a ball or being chased). But with the prospect of a half-​marathon coming up, it was time to trade in my stylish Nikes for a pair of ‘real’ running shoes. After a long consult and foot analysis here, decided on a pair of Brooks Addiction shoes. The difference, while running loops at the Rose Bowl, has been noticeable. Thank you to the staff here for being knowledgable, patient and no-​pressure when it came to the sale. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, there is an excellent return policy here and overall wonderful customer service. 5 star experience all around.

«I’m a runner now,» I informed a friend. Because after walking in circles around the Rose Bowl (literally) I was so bored I ran the last 6 inches to get it over with… which led to me realizing my sneakers were too small and I have a fear of losing my toe nails… which led to me hearing about the Pasadena Pacers (who are awesome and are teaching me how to actually run)… which led to me run-​walking for 2 consecutive days. This, in my mind, made me «a runner.»
Naturally, this was an occasion to buy new gear. Because there is nothing I like better than a reason to buy new gear or tech stuff. Bobby at Pasadena Pacers (who is awesome, by the way) directed me to Run With Us and I spent a few hours reading Unilocal reviews before actually getting up off the sofa and going out to buy some sneakers.
I know, I know… Zappos has free shipping and every show ever made. Amazon delivers by magic genie in 6 seconds. But I can tell you from experience, get up off your butt and go get fitted by someone who knows what they’re doing.
Parking at Run With Us is fine, once you find it behind the building. Staff was super-​nice. Great-​looking selection of running shoes on the wall, as well as enticing array of doo-​dads (water things, iPhone cases, clothing, a billion kinds of socks, etc). Like a child who likes bright shiny things, I was enthralled with the colorful sneakers, imaging the many miles I would log. Fortunately Viktor was there to snap me into reality. He measured my feet carefully, thoroughly, both feet, watched me walk all over the store, and had me stand on a computerized thing that confirmed to do have a very hard heel strike. Viktor had me try on Saucony, New Balance and Asics shoes (I’ve worn Asics for a long time, happily). He was extremely patient as I weighed this decision like I was buying a house, but hell $ 150 is $ 150. And truth be told, the shoes that fit me the best are dullsville. Everyone in the world has cool sneakers that make a statement. But count on me and my Fred Flintstone feet to find bliss in a dull pair of Asics.
If I were Viktor, I would have smacked the silly out of me after a while, but he quietly patiently answered my questions. I actually would have preferred he were a little more forceful in expressing his opinion because I think he really knows his stuff, but he just let me be me. He did explain why these are the best shoes for me, he did not push me to buy the more expensive brand until I asked about the price difference and he talked about the better padding in the heel for people like me, and above all these people were enthusiastic and supportive about me taking up running because I am not in the best shape of my life. And as much as I wish they looked cool, these are the right running shoes for me. SO comfortable that I feel like an idiot for having worn the wrong shoes for so long. And I’ll definitely be back for socks and other stuff.
Five stars because I always support small and local business, and because they did right by me when they should have been closing up for the day on a Sunday. I see some people complain that there’s no Nike; this was a non-​issue for me because they’re not a good fit for me. Bottom line is that these people put me in the right shoes for me, at a fair market price (with a discount) and I believe they knew their stuff.

I started running back in June with a local running group and since it seemed I was the only one using cross trainers (everyone was adamant that I should get running shoes) I went to Run With Us on August 9, 2015 and was helped by Ray to purchase my first ever running shoes. Ray was very attentive in making sure I got the correct pair — he had me walk and stand to see how my feet positioned as well as using the machine. After he confirmed my foot type, he brought out 4 pairs of shoes and had me take my time testing each one. The service was excellent and I was very happy with my purchases, even though it was the most I ever paid for a pair of shoes. They now have record of my foot in the event I return in the future for another pair of shoes.
Eleven days later, the eyelet on my left shoe unexpectedly broke — and I wasn’t even tugging on the shoe lace very hard. After encouragement from my fellow runners, I called the next day and mentioned the problem. They were willing to exchange my shoes for a new pair as long as I had my receipt. After work that day, I mentioned the situation to the first staff I saw, he helped me promptly (I didn’t catch his name), and I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes with my replacement shoes. :)

Victor helped my coworker, her husband, and my boyfriend all get amazing new running shoes! He took the time to give us assessments and picked out shoes that will be just right for our feet. My coworker wanted the same style shoe as me and Victor said no she should not buy it because we have different feet and need different things from a shoe! He really took time and helped us and did a quality job, I am a trainer and fitness instructor and Women’s World Fitness Center in San Marino and I will recommend everyone to go here!

Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the man with the long hair but he was the most helpful employee. He listened to the concerns I had with my old shoes and kept checking up on me after suggesting several different shoes.
The rest of the employees were kind of standoffish.

Consistently excellent experience here. The associates are extremely helpful and will let you try on as many shoes as it takes to find the perfect pair. They’re knowledgeable about arch support, feet type, etc. and are very patient. Second pair for my wife and I as we ran our last pair into the ground. We’re not avid runners, but always feel good knowing we have solid shoes.

Came to Run With Us last week and was helped by Mike, I couldn’t be happier with the shoes I picked. Today, I brought in my gf to get her feet properly measured and evaluated by Ben. He was very informative and answered all of our questions. She loves the Asics that were recommended. Thanks a lot.

Went in looking for a new pair of durable running shoes. I was greeted by Victor who was very friendly and knowledgeable in any questions I had regarding running and proper shoes. He analyzed my gait walk and used a device to measure my weight distribution on my feet. He then brought out several different shoes to try and let me run outside the store with them. Ended up grabbing a pair of Mizuno’s and they’re definitely worth the investment. My go-​to store for any running related needs!

Talk about customer service! Walked in knowing very little about running shoes, given multiple ankle sprains over the years, I completely wrote off running as a form of exercise. Then staff member Rosario totally changed all of that. My feet and gait received complete evaluations. I was informed about different types of exercises I could be doing to help my ankles, types of surfaces on which to run, stretches, pain relief, and more. She brought out several types of shoes and encouraged me to prance away. Now this is how you sell shoes: Educate your customers and inspire people to run.
Yeah parking is tight, but so what? You should be walking and running more anyhow! They also have a wide selection of accessories and gear to turn your run into a runway. Also, if you’re not satisfied with your shoes, you can return them within 10 days of purchase. Can’t say enough about this gem.

I started running with the running group of RWU on Mondays in January. I took a whole year off from running and decided the only way I’ll get back to it is to surround myself with runners. When you’re coming back from a year break of running, the store is a bit overwhelming and impressive at the same time.
I realized I had been running with my Nike freerun and it was starting to cause a problem. So after I hit the 10^th mark of running with another group (Dog Haus), I went straight to RWU and purchased running shoes that fits my running style and the miles I’m quickly accumulating, Hoka Clifton. Whenever I’m in the store, I would usually talk to one of the associates and ask them for their feedback on certain shoes and they gave me their honest opinions (based on experiences) and it helped since most of them are runners themselves.
I am satisfied with my new running shoes and now getting ready for the LA Marathon. All the running gear… shoes, socks, hydration packs and bottles, energy beans, whatever it is you can think of when it comes to running, they have it.

My brother took me to here when i told him about getting running shoes. There is a lot of hype over Roshee runs, and Nike flex i’m not saying that they are bad shoes but «Run with us» actually caters to your needs. (In this case my knees… Jk) My brother and I have flat feet, so they offer running shoes with arch support. I’m not the type of person to run very often or very far, but the day I picked up a pair of asics gel-​kayano 20 I took it to the gym to try out the differences. My time and over all distance was better, not saying much since I did a mile in 15 minutes oppose to .85
The girl who helped me out had me walk around the store with my bare feet to check my strides in my walk as well as the way my feet step on flat ground. She brought out a few pairs for me to try on, I walked around the store with them as she tells me about their weekly group runs.
I settled on my Asics after half an hour of debating. $ 160 shoes, but i’ll tell ya its like walking on clouds. The gel provides enough resistance to give me an arch support at the same time each step feels like a miniature tempurpedic mattress for my toes. I’m gellin’ like a Melon right now.
You should totally check it out, if your on your feet all day these shoes could definitely change your life. Can’t say much for the look though, i’m used to rockin’ pumas, supras, and creative recs.

Local running store — you know the usual: great service. RWU definitely has awesome helpful but not overbearing employees.
What stood out to me? A few things. Adequate supply of clothing brands OTHER than Nike. Lots of Brooks, Asics, Saucony, and Mizuno apparel. As someone who doesn’t live and die by the swoosh, it can get really annoying when every local running store feels like all Nike all the time. I was beyond stoked to see more than just a handful of pieces from the aforementioned brands.
They also had an adequately stocked clearance section. As someone who hates paying full retail for athletic apparel, seeing a well-​stocked clearance section is always a good thing.
I also loved seeing store-​branded apparel that 1. doesn’t have ridiculous-​looking logos screen-​printed on them and 2. an actual size run of said apparel. I hate going into a running store I like (and want to rep out on the run) but seeing either tech shirts with stupid-​looking logos. I also hate going into a running store I like and seeing awesome-​looking store-​branded apparel and seeing nothing but XXXXXXLs on the rack. They had a store-​branded Brooks (YES!) tech T in my size — for only $ 13! YES!!!1!
But wait — there’s more! My all-​time favorite runner — Nick Symmonds — did an in-​store appearance here, and his visage and autograph graces their wall. And finally, not only did I score with their clearance rack and picked up a RWU shirt that I will gladly rep when I’m pounding the pavement, they have an NFC unit at their register. Yes, all of us nerds with an iPhone 6 (or Google Wallet) can rock the tap-​to-​pay here.

Parking: Not many parking spots and if you do find parking in the lot… They are tandem parking spaces. Hard to get out if you’re the first car in. If you want to avoid this problem, park in the residential area.
Service: Due to the condition of my Brooks DYAD 7, I knew it was time to retire them and go on a mission to find my next running shoe. Chris (salesman) was very informative and suggested some shoes to support my running style. In total, I tried on 4 different pairs of running shoes today. Felt weird running back and forth in the store… I think I ran a lil over 10 times with all those shoes. It’s an investment, so I have to know for sure if those shoes are for me.
Verdict: The last shoe that was suggested was a keeper! I chose the Adidas Supernova Boost Sequence 7. Haven’t heard much about Adidas running shoes, but Chris reassured that the shoes I chose is great! The reason is because the midsole is made primarely with boost which allows the shoe to be more stable.
Can’t wait to test out these shoes on the streets.

I love this place and I loved the girl who helped me but I forgot to write down her name. She’s a half-​marathoner and really sweet. Gah. I regret not remembering. But she helped me.
So I want to become a runner. With my awful flat feet, I am determined to become a runner. Or at least complete my first half marathon in November. BABY STEPS.
First step, start training… which I have. I’ve been doing the 8 week Walk/​Run program. So I’m slowly gaining my speed and distance. Then I’ll start doing training for my 5K and 10Ks that are coming up.
Second step… new shoes. My shoes were dying on me, so I had to get them replaced… hence, this store.
This is walking distance to my office… but it was hot. Damnit, summer. Anyways, I entered and told them I wanted to be fitted for shoes. I gave her my goals and my feet information. I am 100% Flat footed. I am comfy barefooted and sandals, so when I run… IT HURTS. So I need supported shoes.
She brought out a couple and watched me walk. She gave me some pointers and some advice. I bought a foot roller because… flat feet. I need a massage. I have a foam roller at home for stretching (I like to be prepared) and she gave me some advice on that too.
I finally picked the shoes with her help. And they felt comfy and I practiced running in them in front of her. They were comfy but I still had to break them in… which I spent one of my run days walking in them.
Overall, service was great! My shoes were great.
They total $ 119 +tax. I know it sounds like a lot for some people, but this is to prevent me from having horrible feet injuries for my runs.
Plus, I checked online for my model — they didn’t rip me off. They were all the same price when I checked online.
So, I really had a great experience. She even invited me to attend some of their runs… I said when it stops getting hot.
So overall, great experience.

An amazing running specialty store, for both new runners and experienced veterans.
I came in to get fitted for a pair for running shoes, because I have maybe run a total of 10 miles in my entire life. The staff was not only extremely patient and friendly, they were very knowledgeable and definitely cared more about educating me about proper running gear and attire than selling me anything.
The employee first had me run around the store a little bit so she could tell me about my gait, and then she had me stand on a kind of sensor to see how I stood as well. We concluded that I was around a size 8, 2E (wide), and overpronated quite a bit when I ran. Because of this conclusion, she recommended I try shoes with more arch support.
After asking me about my budget, she went into the storage and brought me not one, not two, but five pairs of shoes to try. She helped me loosen them and basically babysat me as I tried on each pair of shoe and ran around the store. This took around 30 – 40 minutes in itself. She was very conscious of how I felt and didn’t crowd me or make me feel like I was taking too much time, however was attentive enough to answer any and all questions that I had.
After trying out all the shoes, I actually decided that I wanted to take more time before buying a pair of shoes, but I felt so bad saying anything after she spent so long helping me try shoes on. She sensed my apprehension and actually told me to take time to think it over and come back before I said anything. I think that interaction in itself sums up my experience here and is absolutely unbelievable. The store employee advised me that as a student this was a big investment and told me to think about it before buying a pair of shoes. I was more than impressed.
While I was there, a bunch of veteran runners that run in a group with some of the staff at the store came in and asked about shoes and attire and just conversed with each other. I could tell that the store was not only educational but sold their stuff at a competitive price point, because all the runners seemed to know what they were talking about and made it clear that they came to ‘Run with us’ for all their gear.
The brands of shoes that they carried consisted mostly of: Brooks, Mizuno, Adidas, New Balance, Basics, and Pearl Izumi. Some of the runners at the store told me that they stocked more of the better quality shoes and less of the fashionable, trendy ones.

I came here for the first time over the weekend. primarily to get a pair of shoes that none of the other stores in the area had.
I usually run at the Rose Bowl with my friends as we seem to always be training for some race. Last Saturday Pearl Izumi had a vendor out there letting runners try on their shoes. First, I didn’t know Pearl Izumi made running shoes which apparently they’ve been doing for the last 7 years. I know they’re big in the cycling world. So, it was great to be able to try on a pair and run the rose bowl. I was honestly impressed and immediately wanted to find the store that carried these shoes and Run with Us is who has this brand.
The guys at Run with Us are all runners themselves, so they have great advice to give. Some are definitely more helpful than others though… if the one who’s helping you doesn’t seem to be talkative just ask one of the other guys. they all seem to mingle around (the store isn’t that big) and are all happy to help. The guy who helped me knew which shoes to pull given my tendency to mild pronation. He also measured my feet and made sure the toe box fit well around my foot. (PI’s tend to run half a size to a size smaller) The shoes are definitely not cheap here but I got 10% off from the vendor. If there’s a shoe that you want and they don’t have the store will order it for you.
I didn’t really look around at the clothes and other stuff because I know I can get cheaper clothing online or elsewhere.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my experience at Run with Us. Its comparable to my experience with A Snail’s Pace too. But because Run with Us is the only store that carries Pearl Izumi’s I’ll likely be back here.
